    Delivery is free on $120.

    • Before or after the discount?

  • +9

Even after both discounts, they still seem to be making an obscene profit.

Most sports apparel companies have successfully re-branded themselves as fashion companies, and the prices skyrocketed. You can't honestly tell me that $320 running shoes actually cost that much to make, when I can buy running shoes from Kmart for $12. Yes, there will probably be an improvement in quality, but it didn't cost an extra $308.

    • +2

You’re essentially paying for the brand image

      • -1

Is that what they call it? It's more like the company saying "how would you like to be a walking advertisement for us, and we'll charge you for the privilege".

Real fashion companies have discreet logos, or even no visible logo at all.

        • +1

So glad Versace has such discreet logos…

          • -1

            @Tiggrrrrr:

So glad Versace has such discreet logos

That's the best you can do? A palm-sized logo that blends in colour-wise, versus Puma shirts with "Puma" emblazoned across the entire width of the shirt, usually in high-contrast colours?

You're backing up my claim that real fashion labels have discreet labels.

            • @Russ: You must have large palms.

Also, the entire "colour" scheme is just the logo. Or are you unfamiliar with Versace?

        • Define "real".

        • Your life must be super boring Russ

I won't lie you made me laugh with the whole $14 running shoes at Kmart.

Image thinking you're such an authority you can decide what isn't and is a real fashion company.

        • What's discreet about this:

          https://hypebeast.com/2019/1/fendi-reversible-monogram-quilt…

Or are you going to tell me Fendi isn't a real fashion company?

          • -2

@Munki: I've never heard of Fendi before you mentioned them, so I don't know.

But even looking at it an zooming in, there's no way I could discover "Fendi" was the maker. I have no such trouble with Puma, it's clearly spelled out on most of their clothing, frequently in much larger letters, and not as part of a geometric pattern.

"Discreet" means "hidden, not obvious", and the picture you linked to meets that requirement. So you too are backing up my claim.

I really don't see why people are arguing with me on this. Do you not agree that Puma has far more blatant branding than fashion labels? And Puma places their brand in a way that is highly visible and clearly understandable to any English-speaking adult who sees it, without having any prior knowledge of the brand?

            • +1

@Russ: Thanks. I guess you just confirmed for us that you're not really equipped to discuss on this topic though.

              • -1

@Munki: I think you've just confirmed you don't have an argument.

The topic is whether fashion labels have more discreet logos than Puma, and so far you've demonstrated I'm correct. I can read the Puma logo from 50 metres on some of their shirts, I'll bet you can't say the same for any fashion logos.

I have eyes, and I can read. Tell me what else I need?

    • +5

If you sell shoes at cost, you won't be able to get Selena Gomez to pose in them right?

    • +6

You pay for alot of other costs such as designers, R&D, all the costs that go into the user experience ie: programmers make the site easy to use, models, photography. You dont get any of that with Kmart.

people miss the point that costs arent just based on how much it costs to make in a factory for one manufacturer vs another manufacturer.

You only understand when you go out and start a business that you just dont make something in china in the factory, throw it on your shelf and it sells.

"Sportswear firm Puma made a gross profit of around 3.9 billion euros in 2022"

And that's on sales of 8 billion, so roughly 50% profit margin.

        • +2

          What about salaries? Research? Tax?

          • +4

@stockastics: Research? Mostly a marketing gimmick.
Funny how they manage to make a new design breakthrough each new season!

          • +4

@stockastics: Salaries and research are usually subtracted before gross profit is calculated.

Puma have many branches in many countries, so there's a good chance they are profit shifting like many multinational companies do, and may pay little or no tax.

            • +2

@Russ: Not sure which accounting you following. But all the companies that I look at only include COGS before the gross profit line. If you look at PUMA's latest financial statements, their net profit margin was 4.2%..

              • @stockastics:

their net profit margin was 4.2%.

You do realise that a huge difference between gross profit and net profit is exactly what profit shifting does. It's in the name "profit shifting".

              • @stockastics:

only include COGS before the gross profit line.

According to Wikipedia, "Costs of goods made by the businesses include material, labor, and allocated overhead." [emphasis added]

Arguably the wages of the designers/researchers fit into the "allocated overhead", as there isn't a quantifiable relationship between how much work they do and the number of units sold. But they are definitely CoGS, if there are no designers/researchers then nothing gets made and nothing gets sold.

          • +5

@stockastics: get a load of this company, trying to sell products for profit.

            • +2

@Laserface: how dare they, i thought companies are suppose to act as charity and give away shit for free ;)

      • Shouldn't be paying more for web and customer service than Kmart - I ordered and returned stock in the Christmas sales and still haven't had any email confirmation of anything - goods delivered one item short, apparently somehow disappeared from the order (yeah, or they oversold but didn't want to admit it). Got a refund for half of the returned orders but still no email (nor text) to explain anything.

      • Yeah, high tech design and research into gym clothes 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • +4

OOOOF works on the Pokemon shoes! Snagged a pair of the Pikachu shoes for a great deal!

    • thanks for the heads up, copped a pair!

    • Thanks for your comment! Remembered they have a pokemon hoodie I really liked, just snatched it 😁

  • Got some pumas from the last deal. Shite shoes. Thin soft soles and poorly made uppers.

    • +2

I got some pumas from the last deal. They're amazing. Make sure you get the ones with softfoam+. Biggest innovation in casual shoes in decades. Makes converse soles look like paper.

  • +2

The quality of puma is terrible, seems most of their budget goes to marketing, theyre the beats of a fashion world

  • Anyone received confirmation email from Puma ?

    • +2

I haven't yet, it's strange. Got one from Cashrewards for the tracked cashback though.

      • Over an hour now, nothing from both.

I’m just glad I noted the order number before closing the browser tab.

        • Update, I did get confirmation

    • I still haven't got the email from my Christmas order yet!

    • not receved anything from puma or CR yet

      • Same

        • Same, not received any email from puma or CR after placing the order. Been more than an hour already.

    • I ordered at 6pm yesterday and never received CR tracking

      • I’m also waiting for CR.

I did eventually receive order confirmation email from Puma.

        • I ordered around 4 pm yesterday I received confirmation from puma but nothing from CR yet either

    • +3

      same boat

  • +1

Thanks OP. Copped some Puma x Ami

  • +2

Couldn't find a single thing I wanted that wasn't "excluded from promotion" :(

  • If I am an XL in Nike or Adidas for tshirts and shorts, would it be the same for Puma? Looking at the size guide, I may need to go XXL?

    • -4

You may need to lose weight.

  • It's OP brought a pile of shirts some shorts and a duffel bag.

  • How do you use this coupon? cant see any place at checkout to enter

    • +2

When you go to checkout it is in "Order details" just under the item picture, "Apply a promo code" dropdown, and before the "subtotal". I missed it at first too. Or just do 'find on page' and type 'promo'.

      • +2

Thanks heaps buddy, i swear i thought i was going blind..turns out i was right.

  • Bought the Deviate Nitro Elite Racer Men's Running Shoes. $90. Ill put it in my rotation. Maybe for Parkruns as I want to save my Vaporfly and Alphafly for actual races.

    • Was thinking to go with Deviate Nitro Elite too but then switched to Velocity Nitro 2 for $85 because Deviate Nitro Elite's semi transparent top.

      • Lol wear black socks. Its too plain for my liking but I've read good reviews on it and at $90 its a bargain and save the treads on my Nikes.

  • Puma Ultras are great boots 👌

  • +1

Thanks OP! There are some good deals in there. Went for the Accelerate Turbo Nitro II W+ for my daughter.
Be mindful though about the confusiion with sizes. Last time I ordered based on unisex sizes and they delivered women size…

  • +1

Also haven’t even shipped my order yet.

  • CB didn't track

    • Same

      • +2

Same. Although, CR mentions 1 to 7 Days for notification.

        • Update: Cashback is not tracked with CR after waiting 7 days. Created a support case now. Will see what's their excuse!

          • @Freeza: Update 2: After creating the ticket, they manually processed the cashback!

  • Still no cashback did anybody else actually receive theirs?

  • Cash back did not track. I even did it through the app which is normally bulletproof. I have submitted a claim.

  • +2

I've always had cash rewards track so it's a bit disappointing it hasn't but I've submitted a ticket and I guess we will wait and see

  • +1

CASHBACK did not track, tried to send a claim 3 times always getting below message???
