This seems like not a particularly good deal to me. You can regularly pick up Lenovo 420s for around this price, currently I can spec the following and unless you really need windows pro this seems like a much better system for a very similar price (go install a second stick of ram for $20). The 410 is a very dated piece of hardware.

    System components
    Intel Core i5-2450M Processor (3M Cache, 2.50GHz)
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)
    14.0" W HD (1366 x 768) LED AntiGlare, Midnight Black
    2 GB PC3-12800 DDR3 (1 DIMM)
    720p HD Camera
    320GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm
    ThinkPad a/b/g/n Wireless BT Combo (2x2 ABGN & BT4.0)

Looks like a poor deal to me. This model was released in 2010 and discontinued last year. There were bucketloads of these on GraysOnline around December with 1440x900 displays and NVIDIA graphics for $400. I bought one then and the only reason was for the 1440x900 screen. You can get much better laptops for $600 these days. Also, hibernation has never worked on the one I bought, even after upgrading all the drivers/power management software.

    • After everything the price would not be 400 anymore. 550 I think. Still better than this one.

  • I have one of these (work laptop w/8GB RAM), and a VAIO for my personal. The VAIO was double this price, looks and feels 10x the price. This is a sturdy no frills laptop… 2GB though?? Just isn't enough.

I doubt 99% of people would ever be able to tell the difference between 2 or 4GB of ram .

T410 for $599 dollars doesn't seem to be a particular good deals. T430 is already out and doesn't cost that much more for a newer hardware when you apply coupons.

    meh.
    got two of these.
    Slow sata 2
expresscard slot uses an older/slower bus, thus I can't get an USB3 card to work at full speed.
    heavy as.

  • Interesting, but no bargain.

  • I don't think this is a bargain at all. This is an outdated model and it doesn't have a huge discount compared to the latest model.

  • Anyone got any deals on these newer T4** or T5** lappys?

    • Your timing is unfortunate, Lenovo had deals until yesterday.

  • i advise against getting this model, it's quite outdated and wasn't discounted as heavily as the last T420 bargain w/ cashback last year.
i would suggest holding out for better offers.

right now, lenovo is trying to get rid of the old X series, if you can make a friend who works in ibm/lenovo, you can get some cheap. ;)
