Please include the link and the deal otherwise your statement is without value.

Google is your friend. Here s just one- http://www.mobileciti.com.au/samsung-galaxy-tab-7-7-p6810-si…

Check ozbargain for several in the past few weeks…

This is not a deal mate.

        • -1

Yes, that is $345. And mobileciti? Anyway, the question is whether you can get the same product cheaper here or not. You are comparing two different things. If I do that nothing beats the HP Touchpad deal for $149!

        • +2

The touchpad is a worse product, we're comparing it with a better product. The extra $25 is nothing with that in mind.

        • Least the TouchPad has a real tablet screen, not some awkward giant phone abomination.

  • Just wondering, if I buy from the resellers on Amazon.de, do they all remove VAT?

    • +1

No, I do not think so. You might contact them and ask them if they would do it. They could but I guess they do not bother in general.

Obligatory Nexus 7 comparison: same price but low-resolution, PLS screen, slower processor, lower resolution front camera, older version of Android, TouchWiz, no local warranty. On the plus side: microSD and rear camera. No deal.

So Android 4.0 is old? Really? What does that make you or me nd everybody else here - ancient or dead?

      • He was comparing to the nexus, Android 4 might not be old but the Galaxy Tab has touchwiz. I wouldn't expect 4.1 anytime soon. I have a galaxy nexus and I get updates as soon as they were realesed from google. With samsung, they have to fine tune touchwiz onto it and that can take months

      • Is it new? It was released last year.

      • +3

No "older". There's a difference you know. A 2 year old child is older than a 1 year old but neither are old.

And the improvement in UI responsiveness (ie. Project Butter) between 4.0 and 4.1 is very noticeable. That's without even taking into account the 1.0GHz TI OMAP 4430 CPU which is not even close to the quad-core 1.2GHz Nvidia Tegra 3 in the Nexus 7, can't play Tegra Zone games, and is even a significant step back from the 1.2GHz Exynos in the Tab 7.0 Plus.

  • To be honest.. I almost want to buy the tab 2 8gb for 230 when i got offered just so people dont post up rediculous prices of this outdated device.. for someone living in melb and wants this unit (8gb) for 230 please contact me and ill help you obtain one =)

Bought a Tab 7.7 the other week for $2 more, much better than this outdated junk.

use the money to buy a 64gb card and it still works out cheaper.

    • Sure, works out cheaper without the 64GB card but Techrific's meaning of "Express Shipping Included" is seriously dodgy. Shipping still costs $77.95 extra.

  • This is really a bargain only when you compare it to australian prices. If you compare it to normal prices without the "you're aussie so FU tax", it's a normal deal.

  • Alright Gallifrey, time to let slip - what is your association with amazon.de? This many deals over 48 hrs is very suss to me and they are seemingly random deals!! No one else thinking this?

    • +3

Yeah and most of the deals are pretty meh. Whereas this deal is just a step too far. Its a crap tablet compared to what can be had even locally. OP's attitude is kind of annoying too.

At least with the neg-fest on this deal, this user will be barred from posting any more for a few days.
