Bonus VISA gift card promotion — redeem by 5/4/2023.

The price of this TV is dropping rapidly.

I initially bought from samsung online store for &1376.15 with the 15% off loyalty code. The 30% off code they sent didn’t work for this TV.

After seeing this, I canceled the Samsung store order as this is effectively $1095 given the gift card I am getting is a VISA card, not a store card.

The near by store (for me Belmont) confirmed that delivery will be Monday which is faster than Samsung.

Hope this helps someone.

  • Where to get loyalty code ?

  • it's $1275 at TGG, you reckon Betta will price match so the total price after the GC is $1075?

Some terrible reviews for this model, Clouding on dark screens.

      Q80 min for samsung

    • I had this exact same problem and over time mine just started to fade to the point where its barely noticeable anymore.
But definitely an issue Samsung should look in-to.

    • +3

I always say the larger the screen the more obvious the imperfections as its blown up 200%

  • +1

    60hz panel?

    • -5

You only need 50hz in Australia (but anything you buy here will likely confirm to work on a global market)

PAL displays (the standard we use in Australia) operate at 50 Hz; NTSC displays (the standard used in North America) operate at 60 Hz.

      • +11

I'm sure that was more of a question of 120hz vs 60hz…

      • +6

Just so you're aware, the old PAL and NTSC systems are now largely redundant with flat panels TVs sporting anywhere from 30Hz to 200 Hz and well above 1080p resolutions (unlike old screens with interlacing lines of around 240p). Films are now mostly recorded in 24fps, some in 60fps and games are between 30 and 60+fps.

You'll care more about PAL/NTSC if you wanted old CRT screens and old consoles.

      • +1

I'm pretty sure this only applies to live tv, possibly only analog. Streaming services and consoles are certainly capable of more.

This is a truly great price for a decent TV, I paid around $2k, less than a year ago (incl. delivery+installation from JBHIFI).
This is what I would call a "standard" quality 4K TV, if you want better quality then it's possible but you'll have to pay a lot more.
So value for money is off the charts here.

    • +1

wow 1 year later half the price that's insane

anything you dislike? I'm thinking of getting one

      • no mate, at that price it's unbeatable.

        • Can you let me know the sound quality, does it have inbuilt surround or is it very flat?

Also, a rep said as it's 60hz using streaming like Netflix would likey make it rebuff every 60secs. Is there any truth to that or does streaming work fine for you?

          • @Poor Ass: re sound, I use a soundbar. No flat screen is going to have good sound, it's physically impossible, where are the speakers going to hide?
            You're paying for the screen.

re: 60HZ, you're overthinking it. It's a 4K QLED screen model year 2022, you really think that it wouldn't be able to stream off the inbuilt apps? It's perfect. Not sure where you got the idea it would buffer every 60 seconds.

            • +1

@eckorock: The re buff thing was from a JB staff which I took on as a grain of salt… Probably wanted me to buy a more expensive tv. They said 100hz better for streaming

What I meant was did the inbuilt speakers have sound enough to give out a surround feel. I've had ones that has SRS TruSurround inbuilt and it was very good no sound bar required.

              Does it have SRS TruSurround?

I've also had crappy ones like the Aldi brand that sound was so bad and flat you needed a sound bar.

          • @Poor Ass: be aware the clouding is a REAL issue and it looks very bad for a while, it took months for mine to fade down but now it's pretty much not noticeable.

            • @eckorock: It'll be limited use like 1hr a day max… I wonder if that's enough to rid the clouding …

After 6m if clouding doesn't go away you reckon I could get something under warranty?

              • @Poor Ass: No it won't be covered under warranty

Anyone who is prepared to buy a 4K QLED should be decent enough to buy a soundbar too.

              • @Poor Ass: Hey mate after all that mucking about- did you miss out on the deal?

  • +1

I got the qn85b and so glad I didn’t get the q60. The qn85 is almost as good as the qn90b and the reviews beat the qn90a model. It is a absolute great tv and the upscale tech is really good at the 85 up models. Remember cheap tv at big scale just makes a bigger crappy picture. For a cheap tv better going smaller and you will not notice the quality difference as much.

    • qn85b that's a complete different tech and price range

    • +2

triple the price, ofc it's going to be better.
this is more about value for money.

      • some people ay

        • Have a look around 1600 I got one for….

          • +2

@bne87: Where you in Brisbane I'll come have a look

      • If you are a real oz bargainer you wouldn’t pay triple the price

    • What size is of TV did u get? For the same size you'd expect nearly doubled the price for QN85B. The best discount at the moment for QN85B is from Samsung with loyalty code. That is still $2100 for 75" tv

  • +1

Got the 5% discount code, doesn’t work on this purchase, probably because this is a clearance item. Got it anyway with the 3% cashback.

  • -1

feel sadge for anyone that owns a Q6 or Q7.

  • +2

I bought the 75 and 85 of this tv. Terrible clouding and returned the 75 for a Sony x95 for the bedroom. The 85 alas had to remain as for the lounge there was less times that pitch blacks was needed.

As someone else said it has greatly reduced from the original OCD Days

  • Doesn't seem to be available anymore

    • All gone..can't add to cart

      • Works for me?

        • They fixed the page overnight

  • Just purchased mine and picking up later today. Got the 3% cashback, 5% offer doesn't work on sale items apparently.

  • Does anyone know if this tv 60hz lags when using Netflix or streaming? I heard that TVs need 100hz for streaming

    • Netflix is normally 24p. Issue for 60Hz panels with this is they have to do what’s called 3:2 pull down to sync the frame rates. This can cause some "lag” but I don’t notice it. For Consoles (output 60p) this is a good budget display.

      • So you reckon YouTube and Netflix will work without issues?

        • For me no issues. It’s the 55 inch version though.

  • Just bought this TV from Betta online.
No free delivery as I am more than 20km from any of their store.

  • +1

Damn. I got this a year ago for 1.8k. Can't recommend enough for the price and absolutely love it with the 930B Samsung sound bar.

  • Showing as $1,619 for me?

  • +1

Get the TCL 75inch p735. Cheaper, longer warranty and probably better. Brilliant picture

  • Cancelled my order without even giving me a reason or any notice. Only found out when I saw an email come through saying a refund has been processed.

When I called them, they advised that this is a clearance model (which I already know) and that stock is subject to change.

What I don’t understand is that the price on the website has now gone up to $1619, and they still let you place orders for it, so they are taking orders despite knowingly not the inventory for it.

Would not recommend dealing with BHL ever again.

    • +1

My order was cancelled as well and have the same experience of it saying it's instock and available. Very frustrating.
