Did Kogan forgot to update the page?
"Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 30/06/2022. Recharge must be made before the voucher expiry date."
    Maybe should be 2023?

I purchased this today. The email said the Voucher expires at 11:59pm on 30/04/2023

For new customers, could you join for 1 month for $5 then use the voucher on this post as an existing customer?

    • Can't see why not.

If anyone tries this and is successful, please report back, would love to know

      @Ughhh @DawnShadow

I bought a similar "cheap for 1 month, not cheap for 11 months" Kogan Mobile monthly plan from late last year.

The recharge with voucher option in the Kogan Mobile account portal was greyed out. I had to call them and they seemed happy to cancel the plan and recharge with a yearly plan, since I was still staying with them, just with a different plan. But you do need to take some time to call them and explain you want to recharge using a voucher. The voucher I chose was a "120GB for $90, only for existing customers" offer from last year.

Reading elsewhere about these newer "1 month cheap, 11 months not cheap" plans, they're supposed to counter the SIM slutters. It's still technically prepaid in the sense that you don't get any penalties for cancelling, but you have to call them to either cancel the service right on the dot before the initial cheap period ends or recharge with a yearly voucher.

Before, there were probably lots of people who didn't recharge past the first month and let the prepaid SIMs sit idle with no credit for 3-4 months until the numbers were ported out or expired. That probably wasn't friendly to their bottom line.

  • anyone know if they offer 5G plans or are they still playing around with it ?

  • What Network does Kogan run on? Telstra or Optus?

      • ok thx…not for me then

Once you apply it, make sure the data (150GB) is correct on your account. I've had the odd few of these "extra nnGB" deals that only showed the default data. They always add it on once contacted though.

  • Do they have esim ?

    • +1

Yes, thats why I recharged with Kogan again cause its really convenient when travelling with an iPhone which doesn't have two sim slots and probably won't ever have.
Otherwise I would've gone with Coles even if its slightly more expensive but has international calling free. Coles doesn't provide eSIM though.

  • if you buy the pack now, how long do you have to activate it?

    • +2

I bought it earlier. The email said the Voucher expires at 11:59pm on 30/04/2023

      • Mine too.

$15 more for 150GB more data could be better?

  • Guys Be careful. I live in northern Melbourne and the network is terrible. Even inside cbd, somerimes, the phone calls are difficult to understand. Terrible network. Stay away

Deal expired, dropped to 90GB now.

Never got to sign up as the SIM takes over a week to arrive and you can’t order a plan without the SIM 🤦🏻

Guess it’s going in the drawer and I’m sticking with Moose. Lucky Vodafone escape?

    • +1

      it isn't expired?

      • 90GB for me too. it still says 150GB for you, maybe it’s targeted in some way?

        • +1

Nah it's 90GB now. You've replied to a comment that was posted almost 4 weeks ago.

          • @CVonC: Deal still marked as active with 63 days remaining. I’ll put in an expired report.

I just bought this. BE AWARE, this goes on to your account as a 90GB data cap, not 150GB.
A call to support is required to fix, which takes about 10minutes as you're speaking with somone in India and they're trying to figure out:
    - What you want
    - Please hold
    - Why it hasn't worked
    - Did you get the deal from the website
    - Please hold
    - What isn't working?
    - Can I have your voucher code
    - Please hold
    - Thanks for holding. We've credited your account.

Worth the hassle, but be aware, there's some hassle involved.

  • I purchased this a couple of weeks ago. I never received an eSim code (called a couple of hours afterwards and didn't get much help) waited for Sim to be sent out in mail, waited 1 week, sent an email, nothing back, another week, was going to buy a Sim from my local United Servo, but they didn't have any. Sent another email saying I want to cancel, I got an email back a day after, not very good serve, beware.

Check your junk mail maybe? Its usually takes only a few mins to get both the esim and the voucher code.

      • I got my voucher - but no eSim, nothing in junk folder. Pretty poor form 2 weeks + and still no sim card mailed out, can't even purchase one as they are out of stock, have since got a refund.
