  • Great price, a big difference between this and the non plus version is the plus has thermo5 fabric which stays cooler in summer etc

My missus won't approve of it :(

How have you assessed that they're perfectly fine?

      • If you understand how these seats work you will realise the safety part has more to do with your vehicle than the seat itself.

        • Do you have any articles or information to help us understand your point of view?

          • -1

@ihfree: Have you ever installed a car seat before? If you have you would understand

Value of kids safety kinda important….don’t skimp on a used seat when there are safe cheap new options

Wow great price, rarely see this on discount

  • Infasecure Attain Premium or Quattro tend to be more roomy for the baby and extended rear facing is good

  • Don’t forget to get membership (free) to earn the bonus vouchers (from memory $10 per $200 spend) and also the initial sign up bonus too if you haven’t already got it: https://www.babybunting.com.au/bb-family

    • You can only redeem $10 for every $50 spent in a single transaction with the rewards.

  • Thanks OP, this has been on the shopping list and just pulled the trigger. Never see this discounted (usually best you get is some freebie thrown on top).

Just a shame I didnt see this early enough to go into store to pay with 10% Baby gift cards.

Going to try my luck when in store to pick up to see if they will let refund my C/C and let me pay with GCs

  • thanks op. been waiting for almost a year.

  • the Graphene tex at baby kingdom and the maxi guard plus at baby bunting are also on sale

These higher priced Britax seats are never on sale.

Trick is to layby them if you're not in a rush and if they go down further they'll honour the price match/beat

    • Does baby kingdom price match?

  • Weird to see so many “waiting for a year” for an $84 discount. Am I missing something?

    • Yeah, the discounts have become much less frequent. They are also generally excluded from eBay sales.

    • A lot of people use a baby capsule for up to 6 months before swapping to car seat. So makes sense to be about a year if they’ve been monitoring the price since pregnant.

Also sadly some people start looking at baby gear when pregnant then lose the baby to miscarriage, so may have been looking for some time by the time they have their rainbow baby and need a car seat.

Also with babies there are so many things to buy that any discounts are useful.

Consider the infa titanium quantum pro, very similar width, works well with 3 across, newborn - 8 years old, Extended rear facing but greater longevity than the graphene.

Part of the same sale at $399.50, 50% off.

A big reason ppl go for the graphene is more the length of the seat in rear facing mode. Almost no other seats measure the same so mess up any chance of a comfortable passenger in some cars

      • Yep, but people also overestimate how big they are. When rear facing, the head rest doesnt extend beyond the shell of the seat, it only does when switching to forward facing.
Depending on the height of the front seat passenger, they'd fit well in a regular corolla sedan behind front passenger (without touching the car seat).
Defintely worth trying instore, although too late unless you click and collect now.

        • According to specs, 52cm depth for Graphene vs 66cm for the Infa.

        • Also comes down to seat bench angle and individual cars. It made the front passenger seat in our previous w205 c class unbearable when it was in rear facing. YMMV though so great if you can find a way to try before buying if you’re needing rear facing.

Note that the Graphene has been a great seat and we have had it since new… now in front facing for our near 4 year old, it’s still going strong. Feels robust.

          • @jace88: Graphenes are great, don't disagree!

Definitely try both out to see what works, for the short term and long term.

  • Yes Graphene is the smallest rear facing seat I could find last time for my 2 series. Works great.

  • Dammit i literally been waiting all year and had buy for $549 2 weeks ago

  • Why is this so popular and not other similar priced brands on sale like Mother's Choice Infinity and Infasecure Grandeur that offer 0 to 8 years as opposed to just 0 to 4 years on the Graphene plus… won't you need to buy another one after 4 years?

    • +1

As someone who bought a 0.5-8 seat recently, none are ISOFIX and I understand they’re more recent to the Australian market.

    • +2

0-8 seats are bulkier. Also, ISOFIX on 0-4 seats makes installation extremely easy. You can’t really get it wrong.

    • @jace88 @ihfree Thank you..
I did go ahead with the Graphene plus (felt like the Baby Bunting staff were very pro-Graphene plus imo and the price felt ok at that time) but I had a sudden buyer's remorse and was thinking maybe I should have gone with the 0 to 8 years (being more cost effective)…

      • +1

I assume you have a young one still. By the time they’re close to outgrowing this they probably won’t want to sit in a full capsule either and a booster seat may be more comfortable for them too. For me I have two kids and for our second (smaller) car the 0.5-8 made the most sense since it was predominantly for the older kid but could be used for the young one if necessary.

        • @jace88 our first - still on the way actually.. but we thought to get at least the car seat sorted and get the rest slowly.. too many models and brands and age brackets… all so confusing.. lol..
Yes.. the booster sounds like a good option for after 4 years… guess i can stick with the graphene plus then.. phew.. :)

          • @AbbyL: Top tip: don’t install the car seat until as late as possible so you can still carry the large baby items such as furniture/etc in the car (but obviously before baby comes out since you’ll need it to get home from hospital)

And depending where you live, there may be free vouchers for car seat installations (eg City of Sydney council offers free vouchers for people who live in the area).

          • +1

@AbbyL: We went with the Graphene because it could do rear facing, and had isofix. No regrets.

Then when our son outgrew it we've moved to the Maxi Guard Pro and the b.grow Clicktight. He loves them and I feel they're safer than the boosters.

Graphene is now getting reused for our daughter, after borrowing a friend's capsule (also very handy to have for first 6 months!)

          • +1

@AbbyL: Similar to others, we reused the Graphene for our second child.

I couldn't find the b.grow or other Britax seat on sale at the time so the first ended up in a infrasecure from aldi clearance for $80 with the idea to see how it went. They've been pretty happy with it, so I haven't bothered replacing it.

Second tip: learn how to adjust the straps before taking your baby home.

            • @ihfree: Hahahhaa I learnt that for the second kid. Nothing worse than screaming kid and trying to figure out how to adjust the straps, looking up the manual on the Britax website on your phone, and then trying to do it all…

  • Did anyone purchase this, and can share the receipt so I can get a price adjustment??
