Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 on Leather Strap $699 Delivered @ David Jones

190

Seems like an excellent price for the Tissot PRX 80, albeit on Leather Strap. Anyone know where you can find the Original Tissot Bracelet for this watch?

    Good price!

Do note that it's often recommended to get the bracelet version of a watch as it's easier and cheaper to get an aftermarket strap. Plenty of strap makers can create one for the PRX as well.

    • Thats what I'm wondering, might be worthwhile just waiting for another sale on the Bracelet model.

      • its weird that the blue one isnt discounted also, is this a mistake price? random 40% off…

        • 30% off*. But I agree its strange this is the only PRX that's discounted.

    • Looking at the lugs I doubt it would be easier to get an aftermarket strap but I agree the bracelet would be the way to go.

      • It's a 12mm lug width. Just need to look around for a strap seller who is confident they can make one like Delugs. Alternatively, an official PRX leather strap is just $90 from Time and Tide and even comes with the steel end piece and buckle.

Edit: They don't sell the bracelet which makes buying the bracelet better.

        • $90 is actually pretty reasonable. Nice one.

I love seeing OzBargains arrive in my inbox, and trying to guess what the hell it is from the subject line alone, before clicking on the link

You've never heard of Tissot, the watch brand, before?

I'm pretty sure they don't make toasters, shoes or anything other than watches.

    • Oh my eyes, the 1930s TIssot logo, let it die, it's horrible!

      • I have the visodate in person. Looks very nice actually.

  • Stupid question here, can we replace the strap with bracelet? Cheers

    • wondering the same as ive already got a bracelet one but I want to gift another one the same as the bracelet to someone else so would u be able to get it separately? and if so how? thanks

      • Yeh you can bye aftermarket bracelets from AliExpress. Not the same quality but I'm sure they will work fine or you can get the official one for about $200 to $250 bux.

  • yeah definitely better as bracelet version - price is good though

yep, that shiny wrist roll. It's pointless on another band IMO.

The bracelet IIRC is about $150 and you can buy it directly from tissot. The bracelet is what makes the watch. I've seen it with both and the leather doesn't do the watch justice.

  • Love this watch, but I would recommend getting the bracelet which is truly stunning.

  • lovely watch… like others above i think the bracelet version is amazing.

Bracelet is an extra $150 from Tissot - so you're getting a PRX auto with 2 straps for $850, a steal.

    • I don't see it on the tissot website. How do you buy it?

Ask any Tissot authorized dealer - part number is T605046447

Looks like it's now sold out

Never understood the high price of Tissot. Its just a quartz watch right? What makes it worth so much more then a quartz seiko, casio, swatch or one of the many many new online brands?

Powermatic is automatic mechanical. 80 hours power reserve. And it’s a lovely watch in general. I want a blue waffle

your sentence should have ended after the first two words.

    • clearly know nothing about it. At least go to the product page and have a look.
ps i did buy the quartz version as it's half the price as the auto (already have a fair few autos)
