    • Had the same message previously. Now it worked. Pick up Caringbah.

  • Price too good to resist.
    I Caved.

How are you guys getting it for $995?

    • +1

If you have eBay plus apply that code

  • +1

Lol I just bought a 42" C2 yesterday. enjoy, my friends!

    • have you hook it up as a pc monitor?
can you tell me if the text/web browsing text is as sharp as a monitor?

  • it's shame…I even don't have one 4080 or 4090 or PS5 to utilize its 120Hz fame rate…

  • +1

Absolutely unreal price. Would buy but I don’t need.

  • +1

Holy shit my HODL is being tested with this.

    • +1

      Lol, same

  • +1

Just got mine home. Forgot another HDMI 2.1.

    FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

    • what you mean by that?

      • I didn’t have a HMDI 2.1 for my PC

        • you cable or your GPU does not support 2.1?

also what GPU do you have?

          • @pinkybrain: no, I'm all good. i have a 3070ti. it needed a 2.1 cable.

  • +1

    Aaaaaaand I cracked…

    • Same. Price too good. Especially on pay pal 4 in 4….less than $250 a fortnight!

  • Ok I bought it, had a bunch of vouchers to use so came to $580 out of pocket.
Now time to upgrade my PC…

  • +1

Thanks OP! Selected pickup and got it 1 hr back.

Compared to my 65' LED, this feels like its from the future. User interface is great, will set it up for my gaming/work desk in a bit. if anyone has any questions, let me know.

    • can you tell me if the web browsing and text is sharp like a monitor?
and what was your previous monitor model + size?

also give use your experience for
-gaming = what is your GPU and what resolution are you able to game at?
I think you need quite a decent GPU for 4k gaming.

-video (4k,1080p, 720p) = what how good is the quality for each resolution?
is there any blurriness, notice any pixels when resolution less than 4k?

your experience using it at night in a dark room (lights off)?

      is the brightness good?
      also if experience any eyestrain?

      • +1

Sorry missed your message last night but I will try my best to address all issues:

Previous Model was a Dell 27inch 4k UHD monitor S2721 QS which has been a brilliant monitor for work and good for gaming only downside being the 60hz refresh rate.

Console: I havent updated to the next gen consoles (using PC), but tried both Xbox and Ps4 Pro (4k 60hz). Last of us 2 on this screen is just unbelievable.
PC: With a 3080 PC at 4k resolution 120hz, this thing is a beast. You need a 3000/4000 series minimum for this TV.

Video: great resolution, no blurriness but had to change settings a little bit as the colours and sharpness were a little high.
Haven't seen any pixels blowout yet and from the reviews I have seen, this screen is one of the best on the market right now.

Dark Room: Blacks pop and colours look even more vivid. It is not going to win any awards for high brightness but for the purpose it is pretty good. Had a little eyestrain as my desk is too close to use this as my work monitor, I even added my Dell on the side on portrait mode which is such an overkill but looks dang good.

TV Stand: looks like they were trying to save money for a TV that retails around $1800 but is usable.

Hope you got the deal before it ended. Watch this video, as it covers everything if on the fence for next deal :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1Py5UBPqnA&ab_channel=SpawnPoiint

        • is there any issue with auto dimming?

so this would not suitable for work pc due to the eyestrain?
that is not good since that is what people buying this for right now on here.

I read that text will not be as sharp due the subpixel layout thing.
can you comment how good is text/browsing?

can you give the dimension of the TV (including the stand)?

yeah i also just saw another video mention that burn-in could be an issue when using this as a PC monitor

Overall it has excellent review and it is more suitable for gaming and content consumer rather than using it for actual desktop applications and official work which it is not suitable for that.

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRzGvkqSNaI

missed out deal hope there will be another deal since it is still march, maybe june another deal for EOFY?

If I want it now though, can still get JB hifi/Harvey norman for about $60 more than GG + delivery fee.

do you know what is the regular price (not RRP)?

          • @pinkybrain: You can shut off energy saving to limit the auto-dimming but I note as it an OLED it will shift in brightness and if the pixel shift is turned on, to protect burn in.

Not a lot of people are realising that this is an OLED that is made to be multimedia/gaming display. If used continuously for PC (standing pixels), it will burn out way quicker then its intended use. Eyestrain is an issue due to the size of the screen, as most work table don't have the depth for a screen this size. That is why a lot of people want this in 32', which it isnt available in.

Text is sharp but out of the box it is too high. Needs to be turned all the way down.

            Dimensions with stand (36.7" x 22.7" x 6.7").

Yeah, exactly what I said above.

Deals like this should become be somewhat common in the next year as OLED will shift to mainstream, kind of like what happened with TFT to Plasma, then Plasma to LED. Market is getting competitive as well, so we should see more deals.

Usual price is around $13-1400, but depends how long you want to wait for another deal. JB hifi deal isn't that bad to be honest.

            • @morpheous: you mention that you will use it for gaming/work desk ..

so do you have concern long term about being able use it as gaming/work desk due
              -eyestrain causing eye issues
              -burn in

yeah overall that review I posted is excellent reviews for gaming/content consumption
and like many here considering using as a PC monitor

but hard to know long term if I will like using it due to those issues of
              -eyestrain
              -burn in

and that reviewer also mention that it would not be suitable for a office/desktop applications which is concerning
since I want to use it for general PC usage = web browsing, youtube and probably some gaming

              • @pinkybrain: Yeah, but I am realising now that work desk would lead to its early demise and for what it costs, thats not an ideal position to be in.

Yeah I do share the same concerns. Eyestrain is primarily due to the distance from the screen, which ideally should be around 4 feet for this screen but with the a usual work table you are around half of that. Good thing is that I still have my Dell Monitor which I intend to use primarily for work.

Burn in would happen if I subject this to my normal work hours every week. Ideally, it should only be used for multimedia (youtube/netlflix) and gaming, which I think I would move back to.

General PC usage, the dell ultra wide OLED (quite expensive) would be a better option to be honest or any other LED based gaming monitors if OLED isn't the main choice. This is more console gaming/multimedia screen.

I really needed an oled in my life, though now I feel a 65' to replace my main TV would have been a better choice. But having said that, you forget everything when you start playing games or watching movies on this screen. It is that good!

  • The only thing stopping me buying this to use as a monitor is that it's glossy. :(

    • -4

Thanks for that, please tell me more about you

    • Is it not comfortable for eyes?

    • does it mean bad reflection in the day if there is window/light behind you?

  • +1

    I'll bite at $800

    • +1

      I will bite at $799

  • +4

We are living in OLEDistan 😍😍😍😍

  • None available for pickup in the ACT. That’s inconvenient enough to help me resist.

    • +2

I live in ACT and I chose delivery when purchasing. After an hour I received the phone call from Fishwick store asking about the delivery details. Then I asked whether I can pick it up from the store. Now they refunded me the delivery fee and the TV is in my car lol.

      • That’s awesome. Hmm do I organise it for tomorrow or sleep on it?

Edit: nope. Borrowed a 43” tv from elsewhere in the house and tried it with my PC. Within a couple of minutes playing I was motion sick. Too big for my eyes I guess!

      • Strangely, the store I called said they couldn't refund the delivery fee, so I ended up cancelling mine, and the available stock went out of stock quickly, so basically, I ended up with none. Bit frustrating as they can't match the eBay price either, even though they have stock at their store. (it might be a glitch in eBay)

  • This at around 37' would make my dream monitor

    • +1

A 42" 4K screen is the same width as a UW 38" 1600P screen, same number of pixels in width and physically the same size. Just the height of the 38" UW is missing pixels compared to 42" 16:9.

If you read a lot of text on the OLED and you have great eye sight it could be annoying due to the subpixel layout. I'd rather work on a IPS UW, but game on an OLED

  • +1

I use this as my gaming monitor and can never look back, althrough I paid $1700 for it back in september so im crying over it

    • +1

      Time to see a chiropractor.

    • what gpu do you have/need for 4k gaming?

      • 3080

        • how much did you paid for it and when was it bought?

seems like 3080 is still too expensive for most people to get nowadays..
and 4k pc gaming is very small amount of people based on steam data.

          https://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey/Steam-Hardware-Softw…

most people are likely to game at 1080p on this 4k monitor
unless they are console gaming at 4k

good that you are in the % that can game at 4k..

what games do you play and what sort of fps do you get?

  • If I have some discounted ebay GC…
But I don't have, so grabbed one from JB today using 10% off GC.

  • Ended up getting it for $950 using discounted GC’S (that included having to pay postage)
    Thanks OP!

  • Have a bunch of discounted ebay gift cards at home. Will have to make a touch decision after work. I have an old PC so might just use this with ps5. Would a 1070 GPU be ok with this?

    • +1

The 1070 will work but far from optimal.

    • +1

It will work but it's limited to HDMI 2.0 so you will only be able to set it to 4K 60Hz @ 4:4:4 RGB @ 10Bit

Instead of HDMI 2.1 which allows for 120Hz (You would need an nVidia RTX 3000 or 4000 series for that, as even the RTX 2000 series were still stuck on 2.0)

      • Cheers. Was hoping to pick up a 27” Oled in the future when I upgrade my PC but this price is too tempting and I can use it with a ps5. The 27” would be at least double the price I think.

I still need a ps5 too lol. I should have jumped on that sub $700 deal the other day but was hoping EB games have a boosted trade in bonus so I can get rid of my ps4 pro.

        • +1

More than double the price, limited to 1440p, not even 4K like this one as well.

100% get this for console gaming especially it will be much better than the 27" in every aspect.

        • you also need new gpu as well for PC gaming

          • @pinkybrain: Yeah my PC is old, from back when the gtx 1070 released. Plan is to replace the entire PC but I'm not interested in any games at the moment so I'm holding out longer, mobos and ddr5 prices will drop a little more so it works out good for me

  • +3

    Wish I needed a new tv lol…

    • You didn't have to wish for it. You should have just bought one. I already have a TCL C835 in the lounge room and a Gigabyte Aorus FV43U on the my desk and I still bought one.

  • I just bought it. I could not resist it. Now i need to find some reason before my wife know this purchase…

    • +4

Chuck it under the bed for now and wait until she's a happy puppy then pull it out and says it's an old purchase.

  • how would it perform with linux not for gaming but general PC use including vscode

  • I am looking for 42" for monitor, but worry about OLED screen burn. Is there any recommendation 42" LCD for monitor ?

    • -1

The C2 in this deal is not a monitor it's a TV, so there a few things different in design compared to a monitor. A few design differences just off the top of my head for the C2 are the reflective screen, further viewing distance required due to OLED's pentile pixel arrangement and built in speakers.
If you are happy with the differences you should be looking at a 42 inch LCD TV not a LCD monitor (searching 40 inch and 43 inch LCD TV should give you more results) which you should give you more available options.

    • +1

Gigabyte Aorus FV43U. Not sure if you can still get it now. I got it for $800 a year or two ago.

      • +1

I have the Aorus FV43U (paid $1600 when they came out… Ouch)
It's a decent productivity monitor.. but terrible for gaming

Upgrading to this OLED.. I have slight concerns about burn in.. but it has too many positives to ignore.

They must have sold a buttload of these during this sale. I'm half expecting a call to cancel my order

        • +1

I've used an LG B7 OLED TV for 5 years now as a main PC monitor and WFH during the COVID 2020, there still isn't a single issue with it.
I imagine if you enable a screensaver and keep the backlight low (and I guess I generally have a dim room with only 1 window), there should be no problems considering these new OLEDs have even more robust anti-burn-in features.

        • Not sure why you think it's terrible for gaming. Ive plugged both my Xbox series X and PS5 to it and playing all sorts of games. I set it on HL1000 or something and Overdrive on Smart. All the games looks beautiful and very bright. I also used the console on the TCL C835 but it's nowhere as bright as the Aorus FV43U.

  • +1

Thanks OP, I caved and bought. Upgrading from an X34P. Really wanting the extra height of this display and keen to try the 21:9 modes.

I've seen a few mixed messages about games not playing nicely on the 21:9 mode, anyone have any experience with this? (The games support 21:9 natively but do weird stretching when the display is set to 120hz)

    • No point buying this and gimping the pixels…..enjoy them all!

      • I intend on just gaming using the ultrawide setting for the extra FOV and immersion. Then using fullscreen for everything else.

Even my RTX 3080 isn't a 4K high FPS high settings capable GPU. That's why I'll drop down to 3840 x 1600 or 3840 x 1440 which is the same size as a 38" ultrawide which is a lot taller than my 34" UW.

At this price it's still $500-$700 cheaper than any of the good brand 38" Ultrawides or the 34" Alienware OLED Ultrawide

  • Caved in also, bought one. Thanks OP

  • Will this tick all the boxes on the new Xbox and ps5 ?

All the optional HDR HDMI BS BS these days ?

    • +1

      Yes.

This TV is fully compatible with everything the PS5 and Xbox Series S|X support, including the variable refresh rate feature on the PS5. All four HDMI ports support the full bandwidth of HDMI 2.1, which is great if you have both consoles and/or a PC that you're planning on using with the TV.

  • +2

I bought mine for $1150 a couple of weeks ago and still think I got a bargain :)

    • PC monitor or console TV?

      • PC monitor, replaced 2x27" 2k screens.
        Its glorious.

    • -1

In two more weeks will be ~$750.
Inflation is for non-discretionary goods only.

      • They’ll all be sold by then

  • Oof I put in a C&C order at 2:30pm at a local store that showed stock at the time on ebay & GG online. It's now 5:30 and I'm guessing I wont be getting it anytime soon and it's on backorder.

    • Might just need to be shipped to the store in question? FWIW I placed an order around 1115 and it was available to pick up within 30 mins near Melbourne.

  • +1

    I think it's time.

  • I have a monitor desk mount currently holding my 34" ultra wide which suppose to hold 1~15kg, do you guys think it can hold the C2?

    • +3

      42" C2 weighs 10.1kg with the stand

Edit: If it's a VESA 100x100 monitor arm, you'll need to get an adapter as the C2 uses a 300x200 VESA mount

  • I might be missing something but how do I select pick up in store? Only have a postage option

  • $300 waiting room

  • Really, I wanted 5120x2160, oled, high refresh rate, ~40 inches, but this is very good value and that monitor does not exist. Bit the bullet :P

  • Damn it, just bought from JB 1109 with delivery.

  • Sadly no click and collect option remaining in Perth, so I had to do delivery and it's 2+ weeks wait.

  • +3

the C2 42" is super sharp text on PC and a little worse on a macbook.
I replaced 2x IPS 27" monitors and the colour, contrast, vibrancy is so, so much better.
it flies at 120FPS 4k on max settings.
this is how it looks on a big desk
    https://cdna.pcpartpicker.com/static/forever/images/userbuil…

    • -4

That is not an ergonomic monitor stand. How do you raise, lower, tilt?
I hope your workplace health and safety people never see this

    • What size is your desk?

      • +1

His desk looks like it's maybe 140x80cm (or 150x80), looks pretty similar to my 160x80cm desk with a 42" C2.

I sit approx 1m away from it, if it's too close I get a lot of eye strain

  • I am dying deciding on this… I'll need a new 4080 pc, new desk, keyboard and speakers to use it properly.

    • +2

Good thing about 4k is it scales perfectly to 1080 if a game is too demanding for 4k

      • True but my 1070 can only do 60fps and worse image

      • Wouldn't it be a bit blurry if settings is on 1080p?

        • yeap that is what I am wondering

also more pixelated cos of the lower ppi compared to 1080p at 24" etc (optimal size for 1080p)

  • $899 and I'll jump on it for a PC monitor
