You won't have another chance to get it. It will be sold out and there won't be anymore stock as manufacturer will start producing the newer model. You'll end up paying more for the new one or paying the same price for the C2 secondhand.

      • -2

but then you can wait it out for the newer model to drop to this price..

LG and stores need to clear/move stock of older models each year so they can have room for the newer models + pay their bills + earn profit.
else they would have to write the old stock off as a loss

there's always new chances and better deals when it comes to products that get newer models released every year.

        • Well if you think like that then you'll probably will be waiting forever for a newer newer model each year. I mean right now the C2 is cheap because the C3 will be out soon. Next year the C3 will be on sale and the C4 gets released. So if you keep waiting for it to go on sale every year. You'll be waiting forever. People who purchased it now can enjoy it for a whole year and maybe sale it and upgrade to the C3 if it's on sale like this in the future.

            @HandsomeMonkey:

You won't have another chance to get it. It will be sold out and there won't be anymore stock as manufacturer will start producing the newer model

the point of my comment was not about keeping waiting forever

the comment was about you saying won't have chance which may not be true, and you don't know how much stock they have.
if you are a regular ozbargainer, you can see there are people who thought they got a good deal then post that now it has dropped by $100 or $200.

if anyone who manage to get this then great, enjoy it.
but for people who missed out there will always be a chance and newer deals with products that gets newer models released each.

There's also other issues like buyer's remorse ..

People who jumped on the deal, might later on
-find it is too big on their desk
-text is not as sharp due to subpixel layout
            -get eyestrain
-now change how you use your apps, e.g. no longer fullscreen their web browser and need to use fancyzone
-now need to spend even more for upgrade GPU to 3000 or 4000 series to for 4k pc gaming.

Some also think it might have been better to get a 65" to replace their main living room instead etc..

The point is that cannot be certain of how you feel about a purchase until after having use it for sometime
and whether you will get buyer's remorse and should have bought something different.

i use this as a monitor for my pc and love it.
Watched a couple of youtube videos on setting it up and found settings i like.

I've left pretty much most anti burn in settings on. Text is easy to read i have no issues and games look amazing. I most play squad and its much easier to see the enemy on 42" than a 27"

    • Hows the auto dimming with web browsing?

      • I don't notice the auto-dimming. I don't really spend a lot of time browsing I have other devices for that.

    • why would someone turn of anti burn it?

does it doing some annoying stuff for pc usage (when it is on)?
saw video of someone turning it off..

also does it have image retention issue?

that is another issue with OLEDs

      • It's something that can happen if you don't take precautions to reduce it.
For me screen save after 1 minute, change the desktop wallpaper every minute and auto-hide taskbar.

        no issues so far.

        • problem with auto hide task bar
isn't the taskbar still has a bit of small 1 to 2 mm lip/edge bit still showing near the bezel of the screen when hidden.

if you check up close you can definitely see it still protruding.

Also did you turn off auto dim when there is white background or left it on?

seems to be another annoying thing with OLEDs to prevent burn in (which is mention in reviews)

  • If i am a clumsy person and forget to turn this off often and keep the taskbar on, would this get burn in easily?
re taskbar, I really dont like hiding it…

Sweet price but I think I'll wait for a proper 32" OLED monitor.

    • +6

Unfortunately the 32" monitor with the same specs (OLED 4K, 120Hz or higher refresh) will cost twice as much as this deal, or even more. It's absurd, but that's the reality of the monitor market. I've been waiting forever for the right gaming monitor but I finally caved in and ordered the 42" C2.

  • +3

Thanks OP just bought one to replace my old VA ultrawide should be a big step up

    • what size + model and how much paid for the ultrawide.

  • +2

Damn you, I finally caved. Goodbye 38" LG 38WN95-C.

Going to take a little getting used to, but the same thing happened when I got a widescreen monitor, which was also a game changer.

Read so much about text being hard to read, but it's absolutely crystal clear!

Played around with the settings until I found what I like, I use Power Bi a lot for work and this monitor will be very handy for me to work on multiple data screens at once.

Haven't tested games yet, but I have a C9 which I've used for many years so I know I'm in for a good time with gaming on this thing :)

So far very happy with the purchase, was on the fence for months, but most of my concerns have been allayed from my initial impressions.

    • is there issue with auto dimming?

      noticed that in some reviews

      how annoying is the glare/reflections?

what is the dimension of the TV (including the stand)

how is the text clarify for web browsing?

      • It auto dims if inactive which is just standard for all screens, I haven't noticed any other dimming. I did turn energy saving off and some other features. But I have brightness down to like 30 anyway.

It's an overcast day so haven't noticed glare, my screen is positioned to minimise this anyway.

My other OLED has been in a room which got a lot of light and I never felt glare or reflection was an issue.

Text clarity for everything seems perfect, I'm not seeing any issues.

Dimensions can be found in this video:
        https://youtu.be/zGqqqQW1_k0 at 2:50

        • i think autodim also if there is a white screen on for some time (e.g web browsing)

          • @pinkybrain: Ah true, I have dark mode on everything so haven't had white on the oled for extended periods yet.

I also still use a 24" monitor and laptop screen, so I'll self manage what goes on what screen as a precaution.

  • Got allocated to the Chadstone store - but they ended up calling saying that they're out of stock and to order from another store… Not too sure how to go about it now since it's an eBay order.

    • +2

Same with me, what complete bulldust.

And why am I paying $35 delivery if they don't deliver web orders from the warehouse?

      • Yeh 100%, they should re-allocate to the warehouse if the pre-allocated local store is out of stock.

No option to wait on backorder either.

        • +1

OMG dealing with eBay transactions and good guys is like a Kafkaesque novel. Never again.

This Jacinta chick at GG Chadstone left such a quick voicemail and when I called left a rude impression on me, she just has a very confronting way of speaking.

She said she was serving a customer, so take my number and call me back or take the time to slow down, explain the situation and treat me properly.

Saying they can't transfer web orders, don't know when I can have it.

I'm on with GG customer service line, 1300466348, they say due to eBay privacy policies the order can't be changed.

That's it. End of story. They won't budge and just repeat the same mantra. It's the un-customer service department.

I can't believe the largest consumer electronics conglomerate in Australia with 300 stores (with JB) can be this useless at ordering systems in 2023.

45 minutes on hold of discussing with call centre chick, I just got fed up and gave up.

I called eBay, and they said the refund would be via gift card. What a headache.

I called Chadstone AGAIN and some to nice indian bloke Gehan who was switched on, said there were ten orders, six fulfilled, 4 waiting customers, won't be long, in April probably more stock. Which is in line with my ETA when I clicked purchase.

If Jacinta had taken 30 seconds to explain that in the first place, I wouldn't have called the non-customer service line. What a clusterf+++

          • @zan5hin: Goodguys said they would cancel my order - although from your response it seems like it's just waiting on backorder?

  • Hey gang, my GFX card only has 1 HDMI 2.1 port and it's already connected to a 120FPS 4K TV, how do I adapt my remaninig 3x Displayport ports to run my 42" C2 at 4K/120fps? it's legit hard to find a 100% solution like a specific cable.

    • This is tough topic that I'm interested in as we'll, I've tried Active DP to HDMI adapters from generic to CableCreation and they always seem to overheat and burn out after working fine for a little while.

      • why would it do that?
it just carry the signal from pins to the other pins

do you do this as PC DP to TV HDMI?

        • Yes, it was from PC DP to TV HDMI.
Converters that just carry the signal across are passive adapters, I just can't find any of these that can go to 4k60hz or more. Active ones can and have a chip inside that does the conversion, but the ones I've got seem to work great though almost burn to the touch. Then sometime time later they always fail, perhaps I've just been unlucky and should try again.

    • Short answer: You can't.

    • you need to make a choice…one or other

why you still need to plug PC into the 4k TV
and how big is the TV..

    • Extra context: the other 4k 120fps screen is a 65" bravia for playing enormous split screen with my kids. I dont want to use both screens at once because i am already getting owned in BF2042 withiut the distraction of a 2nd screen.
Does this mean i can get away with a powered HDMI 2.1 switch? If so what model would you recommend?

      • is this in the living room or a bedroom?

how do you have long enough cables to plug in both side by side with PC unless the 65"TV is like right next to this 42" TV

would be good to see a pic of your setup

i don't know much out your last question
        so can't comment.

people who are buying as pc monitor are only connecting one PC to it
and not other extra TV or monitors to the same PC..
since they put it on the desk and no other TV would be sitting next to this TV/monitor (since it is already quite big on a desk)

    • I remember i read someone post pictures of 1 PC connect to 3 x 42 inch LG C2 in ozbargain, could be JB hifi LG C2 post few days ago. Not sure if 3 TV running at 120Hz though.

  • Wonder if the 65" C2 will be on offer again?

  • I finally made the dive to an OLED. That deal was way too good to miss out on.

  • Didn't need it but bought one anyway as the price was just too good to pass up. Have been arguing trying to justify the purchase with my wife ever since :( #worthit

  • I bought one, still trying to decide if I swap it out with my aw3423dw

  • +6

Yes, I resisted! Finally out of stock woot! Haha

  • I finally bit the bullet, now I'm worried they will cancel the order due to low stock. Normally I wouldn't care but I ummm and ahhh over many deals for this screen and always decided too late.

  • So happy I missed out on this! My bank account thanks me.

    • -1

Lol same but a part of me wishes I got one for when I get a ps5. No local stock for pickup and I didn't want to get delivery. I guess I'll wait another year or two for the perfect OLED monitor, 42" too big anyway for shooters

  • +1

Now the 42" has been wiped from TGG website. Hopefully they have enough stock to fulfil all orders. Last time I checked they had sold >250 on that ebay sale. Maybe they will get some stock from JB to fulfil.
Has anyone who chose delivery had postage confirmation?

    • +1

Yes, ordered Thursday, was picked up by courier today (Friday) with estimated delivery on Monday.

  • -3

anyone who bought this for pc monitor usage

    please give update on
-whether you like it or not
-is it feel too big for pc monitor
    -regrets or no regrets
    -text clarity
    -eyestrain
-reflections - day and night usage
-how your pc usage is now changed and if you like the change or not
    -and anything else

    • +1

      yeah it's good bro.

      you should buy it.

      • how are RTS games like starcraft, anno, civ etc.. like on this screen size?

        • good because the screen is like, hella big.

  • Anyone know what the starting price for C3 is estimated to be, people keep telling me to wait for C3, but I expect it will be at least double the C2 price, yeah I can't afford that mate. Or are they saying wait for C3 because there will be even bigger discounts on C2? I can't see them discounting it much further, looks like it's already at clearance prices.

  • -2

Forgot where I read about this, one of these C2 posts so I'll just post this here.

For users concerned with the auto dimming setting that needs to be adjusted with service remote, they just released a firmware update for C2 which fixes it. Turns out yes it was a bug issue and the TV isn't supposed to do that (slowly get darker and darker over time depending on the amount of black on the screen).
At least according to the Asian TV youtuber who does a really good job making videos on up to date info. C2 auto dimming issue is fixed with new firmware. So I assume while the setting is not even there with service remote on C3, it should be fixed on C3 as well.

    • I saw that hdtvtest video but the C1 and C2 models weren't updated yet, there was a firmware update a few hours ago but don't see anything confirming it contains that fix

      • Yeah that's him! https://youtu.be/WL1k-K4jFcY

Damn sorry I must have remembered it wrong. I am not big into TV's so I must have missed that important point. I thought he was showing this fix with the C2 on the left. My bad.

Yeah hopefully they bring it to the C2 firmware. Kind of would be shitty if not, forcing people to give up their warranty by using service remote.

  • +3

An update to my kerfuffle above. GG texted me and they are shipping OLED, from Geelong store, arriving Thursday this week.

So they can do it after all, change store of purchase from Chadstone via eBay orders. Surprise, surprise.

  • Anyone still waiting for their order to ship?

    • mine is on its way as of today

      • Yeah I went and picked mine up on Monday..

Haven't had a chance to set it up yet

  • anyone still awaiting postage?

  • Anyone know where i can get one now for under 1k?

    • Hold out a few weeks for the EOFY sales.

      • Cheers. Hopefully not all cleared out
