[VIC] Mitsubishi Electric MR-WX700CSA 700L Multi Drawer French Door Fridge $3999 Delivered & Installed (MEL & Geelong) @ E&S

750

Great fridge (dimensions are perfect for our old school house). Not the lowest but pretty decent price and E&S made it easy to deal with them, unlike TGG etc.

Smart Cube design - With a large capacity, the refrigerator is larger than you would expect for one with such compact dimensions – this is due to the Smart Cube design, developed by Mitsubishi Electric. The Smart Cube technology increases capacity without enlarging the dimensions, while keeping top-class energy efficiency at the same time. Wall thickness is reduced without any loss of efficiency – due to a unique Vacuum Insulation Panel and proprietary urethane-filling technology – while high-density urethane reinforces the walls of the refrigerator.
4.0 Star Energy Rating - The number of stars on the energy rating label helps you compare the efficiency of one refrigerator to another of the same volume and similar type.
Clean Tray - The Clean Tray was designed to keep the vegetable drawer clean with an anti-bacterial hybrid nano coating. This Clean Tray prevents dirt from sticking to the tray and is removable for easy cleaning.
Supercool chilling case - The Supercool chilling function is ideal for storing meat, fish, or other perishable food without freezing it. This provides the convenience of food ready to cook without the need to defrost it.
Supercool freezing drawer - The Supercool Freezing Drawer offers functionality in preserving food quality without losing moisture and taste. It has two main modes, Supercool Freezing and Hot Freezing. Supercool freezing Ensures food is frozen evenly, minimising cell destruction, preserving its freshness, texture and locking in maximum flavour. The Hot freezing LED Sensor is designed to detect hot food and adjust the cold air flow directly onto the hot food. This saves time while also preserving the quality and freshness of the food.
Soft freezing - Soft Freezing allows food to be frozen for up to three weeks in a ‘soft’ state. This means meat can be easily cut without thawing.
Automatic ice maker - There is no need for a separate plumbing connection. The removable water tank can be filled with water and all the parts are completely washable.
Vegetable drawer - VitaLED lighting system slows down the wilting process, helping to keep fruit and vegetables crisper and fresher for longer. The vegetable drawer features a tray at the top which is ideal for storage and organisation of smaller items.
Two-way flexible shelf system (middle shelf) - This two part shelf slides back easily to halve its size, allowing taller items to be stored at the front of the refrigerator compartment.
The freezer drawer - Divided by a Sliding Tray at the top that can be pushed back to reveal the rest of the freezer drawer. The Freezer Drawer is roomy enough to fit bulky items such as ice cream tubs, loaves of bread and frozen vegetables. The top tray is ideal for storage and organisation of flat pack items such as meat packs.
Ergonomic and user friendly - Designed for frequent access, the refrigeration compartment that is accessed most commonly is positioned at chest height. The separate drawers are placed conveniently from waist height down; providing quick and easy access when preparing meals.

Best fridge and very reliable ours is nearly 15 years old and no issues works like day one.

    • +6

You bought this exact one 15 years ago?

      • I think so!

    • Mine is nearly 32 years old and runs perfectly

      • +1

Mine just enjoyed its 67th birthday and now receives a pension.

        • Mine gave birth to yours

  • Always wanted one but my fridge cavity is exactly the height of this fridge. And Mitsubishi advise a clearance at the top of the fridge. :(

    • +4

It's worth modifying the cabinetry for this.

    • +3

I actually removed the cabinet above my fridge to make stuff fit, have to but a cupboard back in soon though, haha

    • +1

I am planning to have cut outs in cabinets covered with vents like this https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/metod-ventilation-grille-stainl…

    • Didn't see in the Spec Sheet about a clearancefor depth?
      Top is 50mm
both left and right are 5mm each
Does any one know if it's ecommended to have approx 30mm off the back wall?

      • Can be right up to the wall

        • Thank you

      • 0mm at back is fine

        • You think this fridge would fit in 185cm x 85cm x 70cm (height x width x depth). Currently have a westinghouse 516L fridge and we never thought we could fit more than 520L fridge in this space. If we can fit 700L it'd be amazing!

          • +1

@m k d: My cavity is 185×82×70, fit in perfectly with no issues

        • Thank you

  • +1

I have that fridge, it's been great! It's got the 5yr warranty on everything out of the box, sure it's more expensive, but it's worth it for the reliability! I got mine in 2016…touch wood, great value and it's never missed a beat. It's very quiet too!

  • +3

Whilst this is a fantastic fridge that I would highly, highly recommend, this is not a good price.

Paid $3,750 for the Mahogany version (which I think has a tad higher rrp to begin with).

  • have for last 4 yrs very good fridge,, love it

  • +1

Wish they'd do one with plumbed in water and ice

    • This. I would have bought one if it had this feature.

      • -1

Same here! Would of got this if it was plumbed, instead went with the LG insta fridge… love my fridge, so I have no regrets.

    • +10

Just introduces more points of failure. This fridge is made to be rock soild.

      • +1

Yeah it's a great idea until that tiny tube splits and introduces a few inches of water through your entire house

      • I had my floorboards repolished due to a dishwasher leak and the people said most leaks causing damage to floors they repaired were from fridge ice connections.

    • +6

It's handy but takes up space inside and is often problematic including water damage to the house which sometimes isn't covered by insurance.

    • +5

I’m the opposite. Every part of the ice maker from the water container to the ice tray is removable and can be cleaned. Had ours 10 years now and the ice is as good as the day we got it. Our plumbed fridge previously broke down, caused water damage to the floor and was never able to be repaired.

    • +1

The ice drawer is great. Trying to get a water hose right around the kitchen from the opposite side would have been a right pain in the proverbial.

    • Fridge is setup to be robust and I like how it has a dedicated ice drawer with a little scoop. It's convenient and you don't get splash back when ice drops from those ice dispensers. As for water, another leak waiting to happen so no thanks.

  • From bitter personal experience Mitsubishi Electric warranty is totally BS… Avoid if this is an issue for you.

    • +2

      More info please.

      • +5

Sure. Bought a 508L ME fridge brand new some years ago. My first ME fridge but was convinced to pay a little bit more for their 5 year warranty… a fact plastered all over the fridge as a point of distinction. Had fridge delivered and installed by Betta Electrical. Initially no problems but after a couple of years plastic shelves had self destructed despite light loads (we're a two adult only household). Reached out to ME… was told sorry shelves not included in warranty. Basically tough titties. Ok I thought, sounds a bit dodgy to me but I didn't question it. Paid for replacement parts from ME as fridge still relatively new. Within a year or so a massive crack spontaneously developed in plastic floor of the fridge. Again contacted ME. Not a shelf this time I thought. Woman said no problem… just send us some photos. Did so. A week later get an email reply that "we're sorry but we can't be certain that you haven't abused the fridge", so again…tough titties. This time I thought no this is BS. They weren't interested in seeing the fridge itself. Only actual 'abuse' was verbal if no coldies etc. Obviously ME using cheap plastics not fit for purpose. Wrote to their boss… Not interested. As I said… BS warranty. Was a few years ago and things may have changed but left me dirty when they use the warranty as a major selling point.

        • +1

Wow that's nasty sorry to hear, have you contacted the acc or vcat?

          • +1

@[Deactivated]: Made a complaint to Fair Trading who agreed that ME was in the wrong. They notified the same ME manager of their findings but given his attitude and their lack of teeth, FT suggested I pursue it through NCAT. By this time I'd had enough and just swore off ME fridges for life.

            • +2

@docbargin: The authorities do have very little bite :(

    • That's unfortunate. I bought a similar Mitsubishi Fridge a couple of years ago. The inverter compressor made a high pitched squeal, so they replaced the whole fridge, no hassle at all…

  • Unless your fridge cavity/space is exactly this wide, isn't it worse than getting for example 4 x LG 420L GB-455BLE $995 for a total of 1680L @ 3.5 energy star.

(4.5 energy star version at $1050 each)

    • Probably. And the ME fridges don't get good scores in Choice.

    • Not bad, also looking for a fridge for around 1k or so

    • If you value build quality and food that doesn't go bad quicker, no.

    • Every black friday these go on sale for $600.
It's a fridge, it works but plastics are cheap and will break.

      • Really? That's a great price! I would really like one more actually, to add to my existing two 4 year old ones (the 4.5 energy star model).

    • I've had horrible experiences with LG and Samsung for their whitegoods, constant failures (our dishwasher faulted 4 times in a year and half) and their warranty is a pain.

  • Awesome fridge, scored this exact one off marketplace for $350 and wouldn't look back… Oy 2 years old!

If it failed over the years, I wouldn't hesitate buying a new one.

    • Is is Oy?

      • Sorry?

        • Oy 2 years old!

Is that meant to be Only?

amazing you managed to score this for $350… are you sure?

          • +1

@Poor Ass: Yes 100%. It was from a family that moved into a pretty pricey house with built in Leibher fridges and wanted rid! It was marketed as a 'Really big fridge'… just got very lucky!

  • +2

I have the 470L version. Looks small but omg, so much space, especially very clever use of space. Love the freezer and fresh produce space. The super/soft freeze function is awesome too. No regrets buying this.

Probably only downside is sometimes, it challenging to fit tall standing bottles/jugs. Could fit closed cap bottles lying down or adjusting the ‘shelves’. And cleaning the ice maker container to prevent mould can be annoying.

Other than that, highly recommend this fridge.

    • sometimes, it challenging to fit tall standing bottles/jugs.

Did you know you can put a bottle or jug just inside where the doors come together, in front of the shelves? Look for how the inner corner of the doors are bevelled to provide room.

      • I’ve got other bottles using the shelves on the door.

Do you mean lifting part of the shelve to ‘open’? If so yes, that’s what I’m doing at the moment. My jug looks like it’s on the edge but likely to be stable.

        • No, it uses the "floor" space in front of the fridge shelves (not talking about the bottle pockets in the doors). Put a bottle there right at the point where the doors come together and you'll see how it works.

  • Good fridge. We have the 743L version, but pretty sure this was the same price..it's cavernous. Never run out of space.

If anyone knows where to buy replacement filters for the ice draw, please let me know!

    • It's the same, all fridges have had to change their capacity to reflect a dodge with the draws and shelves included, so i.e 743l is actually 700l

      https://www.westinghouse.com.au/changes-in-refrigeration-cap…

    • -1

Only diff the 743L version is not made in Japan.

      • Proof?

        • +1

Read wrong, assumed the 743L was the 635L. As only the current Mitsubishi 470L and 700L are Made in Japan.

Also as BR1JZL pointed out, the 743L is actually the 700L, due to the new change in calculating volume.

  • +2

I bought this fridge a year ago. It replaced a small LG top mount fridge that was about 400L in size.
I reckon my Freezer space is smaller in this fridge.
There is heaps and heaps of normal refridgeration space, plus a whole drawer for fruit and veges.
The door shelves are oddly shaped and sized, so you don't get that much milk/orange juice/drinks into it.
I mean, my wife and daughter love it.
The ice cube function works okay.
Oh, and I can't stick magnets to it.
But for me, I think I got maximum points from wife, and that counts more than other factors.

    • Yes for such a large fridge the freezer is small. In my previous same volume side by side, the freezer space was much larger. This a problem for an oz bargain hunter as I often cannot buy bargains as no space. Otherwise, everything is good. Purchased a whole set of the KMart veg keepers and they are amazing. Took me a while to get on the wagon and I mourn all the dead carrots.

      https://www.kmart.com.au/product/5-piece-fridge-storage-set-…

  • These are excellent. Really well thought out design and high build quality.

  • Amazing fridge. Tiny footprint for the space, It is very well designed.

  • bagin

  • That's the one I want but apparently it doesn't fit through standard doors. It's quite deep isn't it?

    • +1

We didn't have any issues, seems normal depth at 738mm

      • Ok cheers, almost pulled the trigger on GG ebay last month which had some ebay + discount (probably around $3.8k) but probably prefer to deal wit E&S

        • +2

It's the second thing I've bought from E&S and they were great tbh, super responsive, kept me informed all the way, answered all my questions, no pressure approach etc

        • +1

Purchased mine from them. Great process.

  • +1

We are considering the 470L of these as we basically fill up half a fridge in fruit/veg each week - the reviews in here seem to suggest it's as amazing as the other online reviews describe it to be. Getting the OzBargain stamp of approval is always a positive in my partners eyes, thanks all!

  • +2

I called them in Dec and got them to lock in a price of $3581 for this fridge, I would always suggest you call these guys and ask what their best price is before buying, their phone support is next level good. Call them at 2am and get a local call center full of helpful people.

    Great fridge BTW

    • Damn, nice price, must depend who you get. Did you call the store or their online number? I chatted with them online a couple days ago and they wouldn’t budge $1.

      • Called their 24h 1300 number, the fridge went out of stock and on backorder and the price online was $3581 for one night. I called them and got them to lock it in for 7 days I called again and got them to extend the lock in while I decided (wanted to goto Harvery Norman first and see the colour because the pictures online make it look light brown, it looks way better in person) and she extended it another 30 days no problem.

  • love this fridge… grabbed one used and it hasn't missed a bit…. amazing amount of space…. also love the ice cube maker as we didn't have plumbing to the fridge.

  • Great fridge from what I've read, I'd really love one. Just needs a water connection and ice maker? My kids hit the chilled water hard. Don't know how I'd go without one.

  • Had this fridge for like 6+months now.
Anyone else's ice cube still have odor taste?

    • Yes! Our ice is good for a few days only and then gets. Freezer taste….and we've had ours since 2021. ideally you'd put the ice into another container to stop that happening, but that obviously isn't as convenient!

    • Yes. Mine is less than 12 months old. What is the remedy?

  • why no water/ice dispenser?

  • 4k with no built in filtered water dispenser and ice dispenser? My double door Samsung has been going 6 years now with no issues and it cost $1500 so I can buy 2 and still be under the price of this fridge.

    • +1

I'm with you. I actually also have a Samsung (550L-ish top-mount) and i've had it for nearly 15yrs and it cost me $1k. Still looks modern and white, and you don't even realise how old it is. We have no complaints with it. I'm definitely going to be looking at replacing soon, before it does give up one day

I'm really confused how Ozbargain's fridge of choice is $4000…

  • +3

Shout out to E&S who are incredible to deal with. I don't deal with anyone else anymore. I can buy stuff through chat and they invoice on the spot.
I even contacted them with a sob story about our washer recently and got them to drop the price on one below anyone else on market by a fair bit. All done via chat with free delivery!
Never a single problem price matching either of course.

  • Any suggestions for a fridge 170cm tall?

    • Tbh I wouldn't have a clue, but I when I reached out to E&S with my dimensions they actually were super helpful in suggesting which models would fit. Maybe try chatting with them

    • Appliance online filters are great.. punch in height <170cm and it will spit all the fridges out

  • we got this a few years ago, its a beauty, but wow the price has gone through the roof.

  • You can definitely get it cheaper than this. You just have to bide your time. Appliances Online randomly drop their prices some days. It was $3750'ish a couple of months ago. Using an Ebay Plus code you could bring it down further to $3550'ish. My advice is to bookmark the one you want on Appliances Online, then check everyday for price drops. When it does, buy it via Ebay plus using a code to get it cheaper.

    • My advice is just contact E&S and try your luck!

Your LGs , Samsungs and F&Ps maybe be working fine for the last 15 years, but for most brands the quality has gone downhill.
