Australia Post Car Insurance: 15% Cashback @ Cashrewards

650

This offer is back and should stack with the $75 off first year's premium promo they currently have going.

Underwritten by QBE.

I was able to claim cashback on CTP previously, though it didn't track and I had to submit a claim. Hope it works better for everyone this time around.

  • QBE - that's good. Pity they are far more expansive that AAMI for me

    • By expansive I assume you mean they also cover bat shit?

Wife has claimed a few times with them and they've always done good repair work with fast turnaround

Back when I had a Benz rear ended - they repaired that too, paint matched perfect and also good turnaround

Same… way more expensive than Allianz For a Model 3 - ~$2k vs $1.2k per year.

We've got this policy after dealing with them, we'll be switching. Their repair network was limited, we had to wait 6 wks to get in. They would only provide a car for 2 weeks. Blaming us for only taking that option in the policy.

When i pointed out that it was their nominated repair that was the reason we needed the car ftook or longer, they said bad luck you should have taken out extra. Or are could get it quicker if we wanted to use one of their other repairers for deep of the Sunshine Coast (we're on the gold coast).

Any way their repairer took another 2 weeks because they ordered t the wrong parts (not QBE fault) but again if it has or been longer, no more car rental. They pay for a taxi for drop off and pick up…well you pay for a taxi and then spend several weeks chasing them up to get reimbursed.

Anyway over all that were better then AAMI, Coles, etc but for the price, you don't get looked after.

The best we've dealt with was RACQ. We weren't even a customer, but the other driver (a fault) insurer who bent over backwards to help us (because Coles wouldn't). Organised car hire, sent taxi vouchers, checked up on us several times.

"but for the price, you don't get looked after."

I love a bargain, otherwise I wouldn't be here, but, but, but insurance is one thing I don't go bargain basement on. Rave reviews always talk about the savings on the premium but rarely mention the service when something goes wrong. Some cheapies cough Real Insurance cough are just not worth the pain. You don't have to go top of the range, but avoid the rock bottom if you want to retain your sanity.

  • Wow, they are expensive! AAMI half the price.

  • No bargain for me. Their price was way higher compared to my current insurance.

I switched earlier this year to AusPost they were significantly cheaper for me than any other option.

  • Hmm, I signed up to this last week (only $400 full comp for a PHEV - NRMA, AAMI, CGU, Woolies etc are all $1000+).

However, havent paid yet (Bpay option). Wonder if I can cancel and then go again with this deal?

  • Thanks OP. I just purchased i surance via bpay payment. I havent paid for it yes as i have a few weeks left on my old policy with another insurer. The cashback isn't showing anywhere in my account. Is this normal? How long does it take to appear?

I did this offer late last year and cashback didn’t show up straight away, wasn’t even listed as a purchase. Once added manually it took a month extra on the estimated time frame. Purchase 30/11/22 approved 23/03/23
As for service I wouldn’t know as thankfully haven’t had to make a claim.

    @tightass, can you please clarify?

You may not be eligible for Cashback:
If your order is not fully completed online or is later changed.

Does this include if my insurance policy starts in 4 weeks? I still have 4 weeks left on my other insurance and they have $40 cancellation fee I want to avoid. If I set my AusPost start date of 24/4/23 but finalise and pay today, will I still get the 15% cb? Thanks.

This is a Cashrewards Australia deal, and can not be redeemed on Cashrewards USA

This didn't go as well as you thought

  • Does this include CTP or is it only comprehensive insurance? Terms say “car insurance” so I guess that is open to interpretation…

  • bear in mind cashback is calculated on insurance component only. excludes GST (10%) and stamp duty (9%)

  • Is there a way to Start a new plan with Auspost insurance when you are already a customer that just expired and get all the new customer discounts?
