Does officeworks price beat Amazon (got a gift card to use up!)?

  • This mouse is fantastic. I lost my wireless receiver on the G304 and was upset I couldn't find a replacement. I spoke with Logitech and they were fantastic in getting a replacement for me which in the end turned out to be this mouse.

decent mouse but this is not a good price lol

    • What is the most you'd pay?

      • Looking at OZB history another $10 cheaper.

Yeah this price is about what you expect for a mouse model this old. Check out the Razer Orochi v2 on Amazon which is currently the same price, but offers much better specs if the size/shape is compatible with you (it's not for larger hands).
It's a newer wireless mouse from a known brand, so it's definitely comparable. Lots of comparison reviews between the two.

        • Can you share what makes the Razer model better? And do you mean it's smaller too?

          • @vawiyoci: Honestly, just google Razer Orochi v2 vs Logitech G305. There are many reviews on Reddit from people who go in depth on the specs since they're aimed at a similar market.

From just a quick difference: Orochi v2 lets you connect via Bluetooth or dongle, Bluetooth means longer battery life, you can store the dongle in the mouse when you're not using it, so you won't lose it if you're on the go, the Orochi v2 is lighter, it offers both options to charge either via AA or AAA battery. The clicks are crisper and buttons less mushier. Sensor is better. Less off-balanced weight. From an FPS gaming enthusiast perspective, Orochi v2 is better. Also older Logitech mouse had a double clicking issue which if you're unlucky, you can get. I've experienced it, and you can google to see other people's complaints about that.

Ultimately though, comfort is most important, so if the size of your hands and grip style isn't suitable, then everything else doesn't matter. See youtube reviews for an idea on size/shape. All I know is those with big hands struggle with the Orochi v2. It's for small-medium hands. It's a good laptop mouse imo, and for $50 it's much better value than the G305.

@jc123: The Orochi doesn't work with Eneloops as it is stupidly sensitive to voltage. I've been looking for something to replace it with as I'm not interested in burning through non-rechargeable batteries.

  • Any logi gaming mouse that comes with the Bolt receiver?

Don't really want to install both option+ and option on my PC

  • black, lilac, and white available. what colour is best? i think im going to go with white.

    • Once you go black…

      • +7

…you will regret not going lilac

        • The lilac one do be kinda bomb though, not gonna lie.

    • I have the lilac one. looks great on my desk.

If I had any one complaint, it's that kinda slippery for folks with dry hands.

Sensor, button clicks, gliding have all been excellent for me.

      • dang, my old mouse was like this and i hated it. i think it will be a pass for me. every time i try to hold it, its like grabbing a bar of soap in the shower.

        • A few folks have recommended grip tapes and I've found them to be pretty affordable. Of course I've never gotten around to actually buying and applying them. Might just be too much work.

But yep, other than the slipperiness, which is partly on me as my hands are way way drier than when I was a teen, I have no complaints.

    From least to most fun:

    Black > White > Lilac

  • So how difficult it is to hande the mass of this mouse when you come close to light speed? Did anyone notice any changes?

    • +3

Close to infinite mass when the mouse approach light speed unfortunately. Trick is to stay under light speed ideally less than 0.9c anything more you might hit a wall and start experiencing structural integrity issues.

FYI this price isn't that much of a bargain compared to usual.
Check out the Razer Orochi v2 on Amazon which is currently the same price, but is newer and offers much better specs/features (i.e. better sensor, lighter weight). That's if the size/shape is compatible with you (it's egg-shaped and not for larger hands). It's a great mouse for those who work on the go with a laptop. If I'm not gaming, I connect via BT instead wireless dongle (which you can store in the mouse itself), as it saves battery life (ofc Eneloop equivalents), and a USB slot.
Lots of reviews comparing the two, given they're both wireless mouse in the budget range.

I do like the Lilac colourway, it's really pretty… but I just recently splurged on getting another wireless mouse for my home setup, from a lesser known brand on Aliexpress (DAREU) that is lithium battery powered, and came with a dock for ~$90 AUD (GST inc.). Search: "DAREU PC Gaming Mouse Tri-mode Connect Bluetooth Wired 2.4G Wireless Mice with Charging Base" (DAREU A950).

My rational mind says the Logitech G Pro at $125 is a more reliable bet, but I've been burnt by the double-click issues from that company several times from older mice models, that I'm now a bit of a Logitech hater, despite still enjoying my modded/paracorded Logitech g pro 3366.

    • unless you have a Mac, then stick with Logitech

    • +1

In 3 to 6 months when you are replacing the Razer, maybe then consider the Logitech.

      • Yeah Ill definitely consider the Logitech G Pro Wireless when it drops closer to the $100 mark one day, or if my wireless mouse die. Can't see myself spending over $100 for mice atm when I don't game as much as I used too.
I've been abusing both my modded paracorded G Pro 3366 for >5 years, and Razer Orochi v2 for >2 years, and they're still going strong, so I reckon they'll last until the next gen of mice push the price lower.
I play FPS games daily, but I'm just a casual player; so I'm trying not to fall in the trap of getting too many mice (I already have too many keyboards) … It's not like my skills will get better with crisper clicks, lighter weight and faster sensor

  • The G305 is a really good mouse for the people that dont want to fork out the money for a g pro or superlight.
Only downside in my opinion is that its a bit ass heavy because of the battery but I use a AAA battery with foil to save about 10grams and make the mouse weight balanced, for less ghetto fellas- you can buy a AA to AAA battery converter mod!

Was going to say that if you want another colour wait a while because with the last deal they were all $49 at some point. Just checked and there it is again - all colours $49

  • Same price at JB & Officeworks also.
