Actually really good price if no shipping

Why $10-$11.95 delivery though? Seemed like a bit overcharging to me as most of my SD card has literally arrived in some form of padded envelope which is probably sent via normal letter mail service anyway. Presumably businesses would have wholesale prices on such envelope plus the standard shipping for letter which is around $1.20 to $6 maximum, then why $10-11.95 shipping?

Sounds to me like a markup to put the price just below the lowest regular deal for these types of card which are around $65-$68?

    • The $10 shipping would include a handling & packing fee, it's not unreasonable IMO…

I supposed that is one way to look at it. Again not having a go at PCByte but if the delivery on this was $6-$7 it would sell like hot cakes.

        • It's still going to sell like hot cakes

        • I'm in Tassie so C&C isn't an option…

Postage should be cheaper, because this can be sent as a 'letter',
ie. it's under 2-cm thickness and weighs less than 125-grams

            @whyisave: Nope.

As an eBay seller I tried Sendle (screwed me big time) with their $5 / 250g tracked parcels. So back to eBay $9.70 tracked package up to 500 grams.

First time they send one of these to you untracked as a letter for the $3.30 in stamps and you don't get it or you are waiting 2-3 weeks and get increasingly frustrated you are going to wish you paid the $10. Trust me. Even oz post is very very slow right now

            • @simbot41: As someone having paid $4 for shipping from Shopping Square I know exactly what you meant. I mean sure if I expect the item to arrive within 3-5 business days that would be great but my personal experience with these kinds of shipping even at $10 is that it makes very little difference in waiting time anyway.

So yeah if I don't need the item urgently then I am happy to pay $4 and wait for a month. Better yet free shipping but I guess businesses can't always take a loss for shipping soooo…

            • @simbot41: I've stopped using Sendle myself, unless I can rationalise (with good reason) to use them.
I'm OK with AusPost satchels now,
and I'm aware that AusPost's letter delivery service is lacking nowadays,
ie. they only deliver every 2 or 3 days of the week.

With respect to the MicroSD card, …yes, I had bought a MicroSD card a couple of months ago,
and it came after 1-week from Melbourne to Sydney, and it was untracked.

I understand if it's untracked but I was not in a hurry,
and I'm more happy that I saved $5-6+ in shipping fees,
              than want something urgently.

In that case, maybe there needs to be 2-3 different postage options for the buyer,
because I know the $5 in shipping, is enough for many people NOT to want to buy something.

              We're all bean counters,…haha

How were you using them? (just out of interest?)

      Edit: i.e dashcam, Gopro, phone?

      • Using in in sensor activated cameras, I am not expert, but I think it less stress than dash cam or go pro.

    • And where did you buy it from? Cos if you say aliexpress… Then it has already lasted longer than it should.

Jbhifi, got my money back, but it was tedious effort, running back and forth, the guy took nearly an hour testing the SDcard on different machines to confirm its dead.

    • Were they from second hand non reputable non authorised sellers ??

  • C&C no longer available as it's sold out at store locations

  • Thanks for sharing - bought one for the kids' Switch.

  • Thanks OP, I also found the special here on the 256gb card quite good too and had Officeworks do a PBG

Jbhifi price matched me at $45
