$3 Bonus Promo Terms - read carefully as it will save a lot of questions:

  1. To be eligible for the $3 bonus, you must first activate the promotion on this page, then purchase an Amazon gift card of $30 denomination (or higher) via the Gift Card Page on Cashrewards (link is on the activation page).
  2. After activation, gift card purchase must be made by 4pm AEDT 29/03/2023. Bonus will decline if purchase is made after 4pm AEDT.
  3. Activations are capped at 5000. Once activation limit is reached, you can still purchase until 4pm AEDT (provided you first activated the bonus).
  4. Bonus is eligible on purchase of an Amazon gift card of $30 denomination (or higher) in a single transaction.
  5. Bonus will be added automatically to your Cashrewards account as pending upon activation of this offer. Bonus will be approved within 7 days of the associated qualifying purchase being approved, as per the terms of the store.
  6. Bonus is over and above the advertised cashback rate which still applies to the transaction.
  7. Gift card purchases through the Gift Card Page are available only via desktop or mobile browsers. They are not available via the Cashrewards App.
  8. Bonus is limited to one per Cashrewards account. Additional transactions do not qualify for additional bonuses.
  9. Cannot be used in conjunction with Cashrewards Refer-a-Friend or any other promotion that may be active at this time.
  10. Review all terms & conditions of this Digital Gift Card prior to finalising your order. All terms are set by the retailer, not by Cashrewards. Do not activate the bonus unless you intend using it - it will decline after 14 days unless a qualifying purchase is made.   • Was there a change made recently to the payments section @tightarse? My last name has a space in it, and it tells me to enter a valid name. Error also happens in the last name field for the recipient (sending the gift card to myself). Spaces in last names used to work!

    On a side note, I also tried to pay using the Vanilla gift cards that were on sale from Coles, unfortunately it didn't work.

    • I don't think the account name matters here. If in doubt just add a hyphen.

    For the first time, I've been having problems. Payment using 2 different bank cards didn't work on pc and app.
    Also asking for a valid name (not unusual first name or last name) for both sender and recipient.
    After the names were finally accepted and cards verified with authorisation codes, this error message comes up:
    Oops, Something went wrong. Please try again.

    • Yes I too had the same thing!

    • Getting the same error with a Vanilla Visa card. No charges/pending transactions showing up though unlike the cards you're trying.

    • Had the same error message come up on both my attempts. Later got notified that my bank had placed a block on my card due to suspicious transactions.

    @tightarse I just rang True Rewards and the guy I spoke to denied any issues with the new system. He blamed the banks and advised me to contact the 2 banks that declined the transaction. Didn't address why the names were rejected initially

      @trixieb @Profiteer Can I please suggest you put this in writing with True Rewards so there's a record of the conversation. Please email them at [email protected] and feel free to attach screenshots of the issue you encountered, and your comments in this thread. I'm quite certain this is likely due to 3DS payment authentication rather than a direct issue with True Rewards. If needed, I can escalate further as required. Thanks.

      • Thanks TA. I tried again on pc with a third bank card. Same error message on payment. This bank didn't require authorisation code.
        Names were accepted this time

        @tightarse Emailed True Rewards with screenshot. Automated reply says response is within 1-2 business days. Hopefully within 2 hours due to deal expiring

        Edit: Just discovered all 3 cards were charged $30 multiple times as I tried to buy several times.
        However none went through. Would the charges drop off?

        • Hi @trixieb, I had the same thing happen, and the same response from True Rewards, but the charges were only ever pending and dropped off by the end of the day.

          Still disappointed I wasn’t able to purchase a $30 gift card, but at least the money is back in my account now.

  • Didn't work for me, tried incognito, it just doesn't let me purchase the gift card. It should be a lot easier for me to give you my money.

    Edit: Tried again and the section came up for me to actually purchase the gift card. $3 tracked virtually instantaneously after payment and even the 1% tracked a couple of minutes later. Most excitement I've had this month.

    gift card received and cashback tracked.
    Not sure why they don't allow "space" when I enter the name of prepaid credit card.
    So I used Agiftfor as First name and You as Last name.

    • You can use anything as the name for these prepaid cards, so even just a single letter and it'd go through.

      I wonder why the Vanilla Visas aren't working, I think they did previously…

  • @tightarse I didn't hear back from True Rewards from my email so rang the 1800 number again. The same person answered, looked at my email and asked someone else. Same response. Not their problem and check with my banks. I used 3 different banks and tried one of the cards again. Same error message and another $30 was charged. I was told the charges would be reversed.

    Three credit cards from two banks (ANZ and 28Degrees), two different browsers (Chrome and Edge) - no luck :(

    • It's all in the OP, but basically you won't be able to active once the cap is reached.

    I spoke with one of the banks where payment was rejected. The bank said the automatic reversal is with True Rewards and not the bank itself. Will call True Rewards again. My time is worth more than $3 I think

    Payment problems! System has changed from before for the better in the sense it doesn't ask for a code from pending transaction but various different payment methods failing for no reason saying ''Oops, Something went wrong. Please try again''. Couldn't get through the purchase last min duh

    Update: I spoke to True Rewards again and got a different agent who admitted that they have a new gateway platform that appears to be reversing some payments probably due to security risks. They don't know how to fix it yet.

    I really appreciate these deals and all the hard work put in but 4pm cut off time is hard for people who work and have limited access to their phones. End up missing out alot :(

  • I registered and ordered a $30 card at around 1pm, received an email saying Cashback tracked but only showing AUD 0.30. Does it mean I missed out the $3 bonus?

    • If you activated the bonus, there will be a separate line in your My Rewards showing $3 pending for promotional bonus. A tracking email is not generated for this. Thanks.

    All members that activated then purchased an Amazon GC prior to 4pm AEDT will have both the cashback and bonus approved in your My Rewards. Just over two days from purchase to approval… not bad. Enjoy :)

  • @tightarse It appears that True Rewards rejected the payment, rather than the banks. I rang a second bank today where payment failed and was told the $30 transaction was approved by the bank. My account is short of $30 but the transaction is not listed. The bank can see $30 approved at their end. The first bank I rang on 29/3 still shows $30 pending. Probably takes a week to reverse.
