Yeah, my son wants it. Already in my cart, but still think it's too expensive for a box of cardboard rectangles… He loves playing, but gets just as much fun from Aliexpress replica cards.

    • It is a trading card game, if your son trades those Aliexpress cards to his friends and they realise they've been given fake cards, it can be an issue. More so if the cards being traded are worth a few dollars.

Giving you the benefit of the doubt, I'll reply. He doesn't so your comment doesn't apply.

He plays the boardgame and other games on mats. Getting such expensive cards tattered in the process seems wasteful. The card quality doesn't matter when playing. My comment stands.

"Trading" is not "playing", in my view. He wants this set so he has more cards "worth" money (he has some kept in sleeves). But it's a net loss. Gambling (hoping you get a good card) through "TCGs" is something I am particularly comfortable with.

  • The only thing I wouldn't buy on Amazon, most of the packs have been cut open and resealed. Heard this from multiple sources in the community and even see it in the reviews.

      happens alot in america

i've purchased alot locally on amazon au and it seems ok

Trainerhub.net.au does this except they dont bother sealing them back. Based on personal experience, Beware

    • Haven't had any resealed products from Amazon AU or UK myself. Think it's more of an issue in the US, haven't bought any from there myself but my friend has bought quite a bit with no issues. Don't think it'd as much of a problem as it sounds.

    • Not had an issue, personally. Bought several Yu-Gi-Oh! Packs, often from Amazon US, without issue. Mostly the tins, I think. The one Pokemon TCG box last Xmas from AU was fine. I've seen such reviews in US, but refunds seem easy enough. Maybe video opening Amazon's sealed box.

    • Never had an issue with Amazon..

People usually write fake reviews because they didn't get a hit.

  • You can jump on JB Hi Fi's livechat and price match pretty easily, did it this week myself.
