Thanks OP, grabbed one for delivery (no click clacks in Sydney)

Legs are 1.3m apart so now need a new TV stand…

    • +1

      Hang it for sure!

  • +3

That is one hell of a deal. Pounced.

    Not OLED :(

    • +1

      Not that size and money

  • -1

Aren't all LEDs in an array?

    • +1

Its referring to the backlighting I think. Vs being lit from the sides.

    • Some LED TVs are side lit or back lit with a single light panel - this one has an array of ~56 back light areas that can light independently to give better brightness/contrast in specific areas

No where as good as mini LED with 500+ zones or OLED with individual pixel control (8M pixels) but Sony pulls it off pretty well compared to other brands

      • FYI with OLEDs and MicroLED, each colour is an individual light source.

An RGB OLED (e.g. Quantum dot) would have 25 million light sources.

LG WOLEDs would have a different sub pixel arrangement.

X90 85 inch for 2.7k is probably the cheapest ive seen

    • That sounds…. Big.

      • +2

        No TV is too big.

        Added 85" to title

    • +1

I matched the Sony store yesterday and with cash rewards got it for $2740 delivered.

  • Wonder if it's worth getting this over oled. Still not sure if burn in has been addressed enough to go in on an oled.

    • -4

      Still living in 2015 I see…

      • I'd hop over to the lgs that are out if they really have gotten better at mitigating it.

        • -1

They've been good at doing it for 6 years now.

    • +1

Whether you want big TV or good OLED screen?

    • -4

These are not even close to the OLEDs when it comes to picture quality. If you aren't interested in OLEDs, my suggestion would be to go with Mini LEDs

    • +2

My LG oled from 2018 has had terrible burn in since 2020. I think it’s a B7 or C7. 65”

    • It’s only worth getting this if you don’t care about picture quality as much and would rather save money. I have c9 oled going very strong, and the 65” Sony. I wish I got another lg oled honestly

    • I would say you're good unless you have someone at home who watches traditional tv with static elements on hours on end.

      • Gaming. Which is just as bad

        • Yeah. That too.

  • +3

I have the fiddy five X90 in my living room, great TV. Now if only my 65" Pana Plasma would die in the TV room….

    • +1

65 too small for a TV room in this day and age

      • +1

        75+ FTW

I'd take non oled samsung/LG 82"er over a 55 or 65" OLED any day of the week, no questions asked.

      • Only of you sit very far back lol.

      • +1

65 too small for a TV room in this day and age

Depends on how big the room is. A 75" from 3 metres away will be smaller to your eyeballs than a 6" phone at arms length.

    • +3

You could accidentally smash it with a hammer

      • +3

Im thinking laser pointer + cat. That way no evidence it was me.

  • +2

If you just want a huge tv this is a great price, but as far as image quality goes OLED is far superior.

"Now, if you just want a reliable car, a Subaru Forester is perfectly fine, but as far as top speed goes, a Maserati is much faster"

      • +1

I mean a Kogan tv will get you from a to b. And you will save loads.

    • +1

Not that cheap with OLED 77", some want big over OLED for the same price.

  • +10

Im proposing that from now on, if someone mentions OLED in a deal that doesn't involve OLED, they go to jail for 1 month.

    • If they can find an OLED 77" for under $2000

    • Do I share a cell with anyone?

      • +4

        You'll be sharing EVERYTHING.

  • 75 inch says $1995?

    • Flashsale10 code will help you out

  • +2

Cries in WA - "Delivery is currently unavailable for your location"

    • +3

Price match at Sony web site, you will get free delivery around Oz, plus 8% cash back from Cash Rewards.

      • @Buy2Much thanks for the tip, I was sceptical that Sony would price match a flash sale price and Bing lee wouldn't deliver here in WA, but I got an email from Sony that the price match was approved and I have just order the 75" for my parents and hopefully they will deliver it to rural WA.

  • If you want to get the biggest and best (and $$$), go for 85X95K mini led.

Wtf this is an insane deal, bought the X90J 75inch for around the same price as 85inch.

  • +1

How do these compare to my 75' 9500G? I paid double this in 2019 but 90 series seems more a downgrade.

    https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/sony-x950h-vs-sony-x…
    Suggests the H rates better.

Doesn't seem like much changes in the models since, short of adding hdmi 2.1. Real HDR in my model was a big improvement over the 9500C I had from 2015 which had a firmware update giving it a shoddy HDR mode.

I'd lean towards changing my main TV's to OLED anyway.

  • Any recommendations for a wall mount for the 85" that has articulating arms?

  • Love Sony android tvs

    • +1

You can buy Google Chromecast TV for any TV

    • +1

After having both Lg web os and Sony android TV, I would take Lg every day of the week. Is faster, easier to navigate, less buggy, smoother and faster. You can get android tv for any TV anyway.

      • LG remote used once I found very hard to use

        • Just point and click, it’s really great. Much better than using directional pad. At least you have both options with lg. I had a Samsung point and click before it, so it was a main requirement going forward. Lucky lg had it with its oled models. It’s like using a mouse to navigate conjugated to using a keyboard.

  • I can still add 85" to cart, code still work for now

  • It’s back in stock, if someone is still interested. Don’t know if the code will work or not.

  • -1

Luckily didn't bother with it when Sony had it on discount

  • +1

Damn, I paid $2300 for the 75" just a few weeks ago.
    Brilliant TV.

    • Enjoy ! How's is it in daylight if windows are in front

  • Does anyone have a screen shot of the X90K 75” at the $1795 price? Want to claim on shoppers protection… thanks
