Got this on my Explorer, assume it is targeted.

• Offer valid for Hotel or Car Hire bookings only and excludes purchases of Bundles and air travel bookings.
• Excludes bookings where payment is made directly to the supplier (such as FINE HOTELS & RESORTS or The Hotel Collection).
• Payment can be made with a combination of your American Express Card and Membership Rewards points or Travel Credit. However, the amount charged to your Card must be $500 or more to be eligible for the offer.
• Additional Cards are not eligible for this offer.
• Offer is limited to one credit per Card to which the offer is saved and only spend on this Card counts towards the Offer.
• Excludes transactions where you do not spend directly with your Card to which the offer is saved, at American Express Travel Online at travel.americanexpress.com.au. Offer valid at Australian website only.
• Excludes transactions made through a third party establishment or payment processor.
• Credit is not redeemable for cash or other payment form.
• Credit should appear on your billing statement within 15 business days from qualifying spend but may take up to 90 days from the offer end date.
• Credit will not be applied to your Card Account if your Card has been suspended or cancelled.
• Credit may be reversed if your qualifying purchase is refunded or cancelled.

    Dont stress, I did a $589 booking, and it was $200 more via amex travel. Plus going direct had extra perks (free breakfast+ $50 food/ bev credits). Amex hasnt kept up with the Covid rebound.

    The ONLY thing that matches is Virgin flights (with bags). Amex dont offer lite options.

  Not on any of my cards, but I've found it's worth checking back again the next day or two. I've often found offers that don't appear straight away might be available a bit later.
  I'm not sure if that's because it just takes a while for these offers to roll out completely or if they're targeting it in waves, starting out highly targeted and then making it available to more and more people until all that slots are filled.
