    I have this MK345 set.
    The mouse is great.
The keyboard can sometimes stop working regardless of new or old batteries.
Wouldn't recommend. Pretty annoying when you're halfway working and the keyboard intermitently decides to "take a rest".

    • How long before keyboard starts to behave this way?

    • +1

I bought the M345 almost a month ago but returned it, mostly because there was interference with the metal surface it was on and it doesn’t feel worth the $59 I paid for. The 920 should be better because of its higher RRP but it looks identical to the keyboard with the mouse bigger.

With this mind, I would say its worth it for $39.

I've had the same issue with the keyboard, regardless of using new or old batteries and having the USB receiver in direct line of sight of the keyboard, frequently the keyboard would randomly stop and severely lag up to 5-7 seconds, next to impossible to use, which is a shame because the keyboard feels nice to use

      • i always thought the lag was the computer

i always thought the lag was the computer

          Is the receiver.

      • had the same issue with same product couple weeks ago, after using it for more than a year. Plugged the receiver to an old USB 2.0 hub and the problem disappear.

        • how strange. I bought this set ages ago when it was around this $39 price, before it shot up.

maybe the older ones were better? Mine was rock solid, no dropouts. Only stopped using it because I switched to a more compact keyboard (TKL form factor) for the sake of my shoulders.

          • @andresampras: Yeh.
Bought mine at the beginning of pandemic and WFH. No issues
Maybe quality control during lockdown manufacturing.

This kind of thing can be due to interference with USB3.0 — try a different USB port away from USB3.0 devices.

    • brought to you by logitech in 2018. cutting edge tech!

  • Great price. But I just ordered one from Logitech China and paid extra about $5 have them shipped to Au. I don't know what is the difference. But it is 126 CNY($27 )normal price in Logitech official taobao shop for a long time… Compare the RRP $99 here… Quite a lot difference.
But for $39 I will buy from Amazon. Because it took about 30 days to ship to Au..

    • keyboard in china is always way cheaper, I never buy in aus.

      • Do you use TaoBao too, or is there another (preferably English) site?

  • Can you buy the mouse on its own or has to be in the bundle . Love the mouse and would like another , dont really need the keyboard ?

    • Yeah, just don't turn keyboard on (or use at all).
Just means you use up another USB (or what ever) port for your other keyboard peripheral.

I have the same setup going for my partners PC. Keyboard and mouse combo - mouse broke but keyboard still good - port 1. Got a new wireless usb mouse - port 2.

    • The mouse is a logitech M275.

You can buy it by itself, but it may be superceeded by the M280 now; which you can readily buy from the usual retailers like OW/JB. Places that still sell the M275 might be carrying older stock and the pricing of it isn't that good.

  • This is a pretty good kb/mouse set. I used to use the MK345 and still use the included M275 mouse today (I've since replaced the kb with a mechanical one)

  • I preferred the 545 now but $39 is cheap.

In some situation there are interference, you may need to put the USB receiver as close as possible. Only happened with the 345

typing frm oen rite now. that's h0w baaad it iz.
Seriously: agree with others. Sometimes it decides to take a break. Range isn't so good from 5m away. When the dongle/receiver is behind a planar speaker, it gets worse so I had to move it to ensure there's a line of sight.

    • Wow that is terrible lol. Years ago I bought a Microsoft wireless mouse and keyboard deal on here for just $1 from Officeworks. I'm using it now. The writing has gone from some of the most frequently used keys and I've had to replace the scroll wheel potentiometer (a few cents from Aliexpress). They work at least the full length of a 3bd house away from the computer with no line of sight.

  • I believe they are price matching disgraceful Harvey Norman

what kind of switches does this have? are they lubed already, or do i have to lube them?

  • My wife & I WFH on different days and use same monitor (Samsung M7) we both connect to the monitor via USB-C.

Is it possible to plug the USB dongle into the monitor so we don't have to take it out from one laptop to the other laptop?

    • Is the keyboard works with the monitor USB, you can use a USB switch, something like this.

      https://www.amazon.com.au/UGREEN-Computers-Peripheral-Switch…

    • I think it depends on the laptop.

My old laptop can send video and get power through USB-C, but not receive peripheral inputs.

My new laptop connected to the same monitor and USB-C cable can get webcam, conference speaker, keyboard, mouse, USB drive, the lot.

There are probably different USB-C standards, earlier ones do not support peripherals.

The problem with cheaper wireless keyboards now, is they don't support multi device. A lot of people who work from home may have a work laptop and home computer and would like to seamlessly switch between the two without having two keyboards and mice. This is my situation and I'm sure there are a lot of people in the same boat. I use my two monitors for both home and work use between laptop and PC, this is why monitors support multi HDMI and DisplayPort input.
I bought the Logitech K850 wireless keyboard and mouse which lets you switch between up to 3 devices via bluetooth. The keyboard and mouse works well but don't like the feel of the keys on the keyboard as they are high and deep like the old school keyboards and not like the low-profile chiclet design.

    • You can use USB switch.

      • And how can a USB switch work if you have a laptop and a PC and they don't talk to each other? What USB port would you use to do that?

Edit: Ok, just looked it up, a decent one is still like $20-$30 and looks messy, I don't want to have to use an extra hub when my desk is wire free and have to actually manually push a button. This is a bandaid solution. Sounds like my multi device is a better solution. How about they just make multi device KB & M combos lol

So you want to use one monitor, one keyboard combo for laptop and desktop, right?

USB switch is just like KVM switch.

          https://www.amazon.com.au/UGREEN-Computers-Peripheral-Switch…

          • @superforever: I guess good for wired also though. I don't know why I had not seen this before I bought a new wireless keyboard and mouse but not sure i want to spend the $30 now that I technically have a solution, even though I don't like my keyboard lol.. Thanks for providing the info and link.

@Justin9mm: I use this one and it is amazing:
              https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09FXK7YGT/?coliid=I2PCN5L53ZF6…

I share my Logitech G915 keyboard and G502 mouse (both wireless) using this device. I just plug the dongles into the device and switch to the device I want the input to go to. Currently:

              • Gaming PC
              • Docking station - Swap between Work laptop or ACER Spin 713 Chromebook when needed
              • Xbox Series X

And they all share both my monitors using the inputs on each monitor (although XBOX only goes to my main ultrawide monitor - AW3423DW)

              • @Arcticfox: Nice! Although I would prefer the UGREEN one listed above considering the USB 3.0, one button switch and review ratings. I only need for laptop and PC.

                • +1

                  @Justin9mm: Yeah good call.

I mainly got mine because of the wireless remote. I don't even touch the box itself so I do not see the box or wires at all.

                  • +1

@Arcticfox: remote is good but would be wasted anyway because the 1 button hub would sit just on my desk between laptop and PC about 20cm from my fingers lol

                    • +1

@Justin9mm: I used to have the UGREEN one, but had to upgrade it as it can only share 2 devices. New one can go up to 4.

But if it suits your needs, then it is perfect for your usage :-)

                      • @Arcticfox: Yeah I'll never need more than the laptop and PC. Will always just have one home and one work computer in my office. At least now if I buy this, it opens me up to get whatever wireless or wired keyboard or mouse that I want.

Even with multi device support, Logitech implemented it poorly by having to switch keyboard and mouse separately. You would think Options+ (Logitech's software) has a function to associate specified keyboard and mouse (in case you have more than one keyboard and mouse) to keep them in sync. But no, you have to change channel twice. Some mouse such as M720 has the channel switch on the side, but flagship MX mice have the button at the bottom.

In their defence, the Unify receivers were released 10+ years ago, long before multi device became mainstream, fair enough if their proprietary wireless protocol from back then does not support device sync.

Then they released MX mechanical and 3S mouse using non-back forward compatible Bolt receivers, they had the chance to revamp the protocol. But no, after spending $400 on keyboard and mouse, you still have to switch channel separately. This is quite F up.

      • +1

Reading between the lines, it seems that Bolt receivers were created because Unifying receivers are now considered insecure. The security issue probably won't be of concern to most home users, but government departments and certain businesses might care.

If true, that would explain why Bolt receivers are not compatible with Unifying receivers. It seems that Bolt receivers use a Bluetooth protocol so there's probably not much advantage unless Bluetooth pairing is a hassle.

        • +1

Yeah, security is a key selling point. But since they went down the path not to maintain backward compatibility with devices and receivers relying on Unifying technology, they had a perfect opportunity to introduce breaking changes, such as device sync — but they chose not to.

I now use a Dell USB-C monitor with build in KVM. Plug the receiver into the monitor, setup a shortcut key in Dell Display Manager to switch video between laptop and desktop, the monitor switches the keyboard and mouse input automatically.

  • I've been using my MK345 for ages now and love it. Have just bought one for the missus to replace her MK220… that's been rubbish.

  • I love MK345. Just bought the third one.

  • OW has now price matched this :)

    • JB did it for me as well

  • +1

We use these through 230+ locations and yes the dongle distance is shocking.. if your pc is under the desk use a usb extension to bring it as close as possible.. other than that, the keys wear off after a good 2 years of use & for me personally the mouse is way too small for extended use.

Oh and fyi.. u can re pair these with mk345 logi dongles if you lose that or lose the mouse or keyboard separately, this is done with the 'mk345 pair ConnectUtility_2.30.9_Logitech' software - unfortunately not compatible with the unifying dongle.

    • +1

I wish I read this prior to purchasing.

I have a MX Master 3 and bought the MK345 to use the keyboard thinking I could pair both to the 1 dongle.

  • I had different revisions of what's currently the MK270R mouse/keyboard combo. But as the pandemic hit, I had to update (not specifically for work for home purposes… but the intended use was to plug the usb dongle into a tv, laptop or game consoles - so I could type things a lot easier from the comfort of my couch). I settled on the MK470, I liked the look of it… had I been able to see and play with it I might have gone with something else. It types nice, but the keyboard itself is very slim (too slim imo).

Always on the look out for the next bargain and this might be it!

  • I own 3 sets of these, 2 for home, 1 for the office, have been using them for years, lov'em.

  • My work place bought this for $99 LOL

  • Bought and using this one at moment. It's decent. Issues are control keys aren't spaced and grouped in four like most keyboards and the mouse wheel isn't integrated with the button so you can feel the square edges of left and right click. Its not smoothly integrated. Don't like the mouse due to this.
