Last gen CPU and GPU. They're going to have to do better than this

    • You are paying the Razer tax on this one.

Do you have any suggestions for alternatives? The weight of laptop is quite good and last gen CPU and GPU can handle most gaming.

Fair point, there aren't too many options in this performance to size/weight class.
Still think it's priced too high but if you're after something of this form factor, it's not too bad I guess

        • Agreed! I wish it was cheaper hopefully the newer model can bring the price down further.

Check out the asus zephyrus g14 (ga402) models. I was very close to buying this Razer blade or the Zephyrus last year.
Zephyrus ram can be upgraded Upto 64gb and comes in a few different screen/cpu/gpu combos.

Thanks I'll check out the asus zephyrus!

  • For the weight of the laptop it is tempting but reviews seemed to be a bit mixed

Razer qc can be a hit and miss but apparently this 14 is the most reliable of the lot. The 16gb is soldered with no 2nd slot available.
Warranty is only 1 year so I strongly recommend price matching at JB and adding the 5 years warranty for 10% or whatever it costs.

Also yes as someone above posted, the new model is expected to release soon, however I expect this to be 5k at least.

Absolutely wouldn't recommend this btw, whilst the SSD can be upgraded up to 2TB (double sided), there's no additional ram slot, so your stuck with a single stick of soldered ram. So the 2.7k you're paying for this has no future upgradability beyond increasing the size of the storage. The only possible positive is that its light - sitting at 1.8kg's (exc battery) and thus more portable than the typical gaming laptop. In which case, just buy a gaming setup and a portable laptop/notebook separately.

Non upgradable ram is a deal breaker

I own this laptop and am so happy with my purchase. There's no perfect laptop that has a good price, is lightweight, powerful, etc. I made the call that by the time I decide to upgrade RAM, I will be looking to sell and buy a new laptop anyway; as the CPU and graphics will be dated by then.

The only thing that bothered me was the fact that it's a fingerprint magnet - I got a dbrand sticker and it solved that issue.

  • How is it that JV hasn't commented about 14" razer blades?

Next Gen model has just broken cover here: https://www.notebookcheck.net/Razer-Blade-14-2023-Compact-ga…

I daily drive the 3070ti model in this deal, awesome little machine that was worked well for the past 8 months.
There isn't many options with this form factor and performance.

100% has it's downsides as a Razer product though.
The second one we purchased got stuck in a standby boot loop which is unresolvable (believe me we tried).
The "warranty" solution is to return the device for a refund which isn't great as we bought it at a similar discount to this deal.
