    • +1

      same…
      and also same ;]

      • +4

I dont know if i can do it again!

Ozbargain need to get onto this deal and share the love so i can stop burning all my relationships to get referrals

        • +5

getting people to believe its not a scam is soul crushing… $120 USD is a nice bandaid though, although now the minimum is $96USD

          • +2

@90PercentOffOrBust: Still a good amount! I'm still willing to get rid of all of my kidneys to get em lol

            • @Cjdanger: How many referrals did you end up getting?

              • +1

@Ash-Say: I got 10 on my account and 10 on the wife's account. It only took all of my time and energy for 10 days too! Lol

                • @Cjdanger: Wow, you made over $3.5k with promo!

                  • @Ash-Say: Still hasn't really clicked honestly! I did work pretty hard for them believe it or not

                • +1

                  @Cjdanger: Jesus, that's insane

    • How many times? Does it get reset with each new promo?

      • I did just the last promo period. Not sure if it resets everytime, would be good if it did though.

  • +8

Everyone should get on this, its a very generous referral deal.

    • Yup! And the deal has already started today from 4pm

  • Since there is a maximum referral limit allowed, probably best to share the love with your fellow Ozbargainers and DM others first asking whether if they had max out their referrals rather than using the random referral system

    • +1

its very unlikely that most people have gotten their full 10, plus this new promotion resets the referall counter im pretty sure as i am back to zero referalls according to the app

      • Ok thanks. How do you check the referral counter on the app?

        • +1

It Should show a dash in place of both your leaderboard position and your invite count to indicate that it’s reset

    • How do I add my referral link? When I try and save the one WeBull generates it says it's the wrong format…

  • Are any referrals codes available for this?

    • You can click the link in the Referral Links section under the post description to get a random referral.

  • What the trading fees like for this? I only have experience with crypto.

    • +1

First sign up’s get a 90 day commission free trading voucher so you should be good for a while

        Thank you!

I'm still holding my AAPL shares from last year's Tiger Brokers and MooMoo deals! And those hurdles were pretty onerous.

Can someone explain it to me - you get 12 shares, but just four stocks are listed in the OP. Is that just a selection of the "best" stocks that you can potentially get, or will the 12 fractional shares (amounts) just be an assortment of those four stocks?

    • The 12 fractional shares (amounts) is just an assortment of those four stocks.

    • minimum guaranteed selection of shares you will receive consists of 12 tesla shares, in this case totalling $96USD. you might however get apple, amazon, or google shares in place of any of those 12 tesla shares, which of course is the lottery everyone wants to hit haha

      • Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense. The use of the term "shares", as we tend to use that term in here in Australia, was just a bit unclear.. I've signed up.

  • Just signed up, thanks.
Hopefully I can get some friends to sign up!

  • they are indeed generous !

Why are all the comments sound likes bots in youtube? ;-)

  • Beep boop mtherfcker

  • +1

Probably not worth giving your info for such a low amount of money, but oh well guess hasnt stopped me before

    • Have given more for much less. Besides ~$150 AUD is nothing to sneeze at.

  • +2

Had a lot of trouble convincing my mates this wasn’t a scam. Those who were convinced were happy though!

    • Same, a lot of them couldn't be bothered to spent 10 mins for an easy $120 USD.

      • +2

I explained it all to my sister and she said she would take a look. I ask a few days later wondering if she did it. "sorry I don't have any spare cash at the moment". ??? Told her literally can put 1 cent in. "Sorry I just don't understand how it all works". Maybe you friend doesn't understand how easy it is to buy/sell shares nowadays and are just embarrassed.

        • +1

Ha ha my cousin said the same thing :)

  • +1

    How long does activation take?

  • +1

Signed up with referral, got multiple notifications about double shares. When I go to "promotion center" all I am getting is "This promotion is only avaialble to selected clients" and that's it. Is there anything more that can be done ?

    • I have the same error message. Would love to know the answer as well, I've contacted support to ask.

      • I got a random / standard reply from support. My question was not answered, however, the offer is available to me today. Not sure if they did something or not.

  • Do both people get the shares or just the person who referred?

    • +2

      Both

    • From reading it it looks like only the referee.

      • It's both :)

  • Great deal, got a couple of referrals last time

  • +1

    So what's the process exactly?
Hit the Ozb referral button and sign up for an account, deposit something and get the free "shares"? TIA

    • +4

Pretty much. Then just wait until the shares are added to your account, sell them, wait for the funds to clear then exchange from USD to AUD on the all and withdraw. Then try and convince everyone you know to sign up using your own referral code.

      • Thanks @i like freestuff

      • Lost interest when they started asking for my employment details lol

        • +3

Pretty much every financial institution is required to ask that stuff due to money laundering/Know Your Customer laws. Sign up for any bank account or credit card or share broker and you will asked the same thing. But fair enough.

          • +1

@I like freestuff: Yeah I figured it was something to do with that - and not validated really so ended up going through with it. Just waiting for my deposit to clear and we're good to go :) thanks!

    • Account verified and deposit cleared this morning.

How long do I need to wait to receive the fractional shares?

  • How do you guys even convince normal people it's not a scam?

    • show them the money haha

      • +2

That's what I did, and got only laugh reacts and some hate comments. 😂

        • their loss!

        • +1

Same here.. Explained everything, showed them the screenshots..
And the comments are just.. "Wow" or a smile.
          So uncivilized 🤔..

Are people mostly picking up chunks of Tesla in their alllotments? 12 x $US8 is nothing to sneeze at, but just wondering how often bits of Amazon and/or Google are being dished out?

    • +1

      same, only Tesla for me

    • +1

I’m at 51 tesla, 2 Apple and 1 Amazon so far.

      • Thanks, that's the kind of split I expected. So you've picked up roughly two full TSLA shares from this. Good work

    • I signed up during the last deal and all 12 shares were Tesla.

  • Tried to transfer 2 cents but Osco payment gets rejected. So had to do it by a slow transfer.

    • I think minimum is $1

      • +1

Not true, I Osko'd $0.01 from ING for four people and it cleared instantly.

  • Probably a dumb question but no credit checks right?

    • Right. But they ask you to submit several identification docs including you photo.

  • Maybe a silly question, but is there anything to stop you from selling the shares straight away and withdrawing the cash?
Any international transfer fees considering it's all US ?

    • +1

No restriction. I think some have already done it. And it definitely happened last year (quick dumps) with the Tiger Brokers promo.

There will be a forex translation cost to convert your sale proceeds back to AUD for withdrawl. I'm guessing that this "fee" will probably be built into the exchange rate - but happy to be corrected by anyone who has already completed the process.

      • +1

The forex rate was pretty close to spot for me. If they have a margin baked in it would be less than 1%.

  • I got the app but I can't see how to make a deposit.

    • Are you using the phone version of the app? There should be a button in the middle-bottom of the screen allowing you to begin verification

      • I'm using the Android version of the app on my phone.I verified already. I just don't know how to deposit anything.

    • Tap the Webull Australia logo at the bottom of the screen
Tap "Transfers" at the top of the screen
      Tap "Deposit"
      Select your preferred Deposit Currency
Transfer your money to the designated bank account

      • +2

There's no Webull Australia logo at the bottom of the screen on the Android app so I opened the website on my PC and and couldn't find it there either

        • Maybe try and reinstall the app, and log in again. I'm using Android, and it's definitely there at the bottom centre.

          • @Charlie Dont Surf: I had five little icons on the bottom of my screen. The one in the middle was a wallet. Upon clicking that, there was a big blue button to "open account". I thought I had already done that when I entered my phone number, password, email and verification codes last night but I pressed the button and was lead to a form with a whole heap of overly personal questions seeking private answers. I guess that's where the real verification process begins and what needs to be done before you can make a deposit.

            • @RickyJ: You need to use mobile phone, not PC or tablet, etc, same problem with me last time

            • +1

@RickyJ: Yes, verification for financial services companies involves more than providing a phone number and email :)

      • The Webull logo is not showing for me.. I can only see Watchlists, Markets, News and Menu… how to fix this?

        • Are you fully verified - ID, utility bill etc?

          • @Charlie Dont Surf: I don't think so. I cant even get to that part. It doesnt ask me to verify my self and i dont know how to get to it.

            • @lilkid28: That's why you don't have the logo - because your account isn't opened yet.

The app should take you through the steps to verify your account.

  • +1

Thanks for the deal! Opened account! Added myself to referral list!
    Cheers

  • So, just to check, it takes 14 days to get the shares, but we get our referral code sooner and have to sign other people up by 14 April before our shares arrive?

  • +1

To all those unsure about this deal, you can add my name to the list of people who have withdrawn their money!

    0 issues!

  • +1

Well, finally went thru - but only got 6, didn't get any invitee awards :(

Note: maintain for 15 days, and 2 business days after?

    • Same for me as well..

    • Same as me. Sent them an email.

  • I am the invitee. Only got 6 too, I have sent out the request to fix it, wait for the explain and results.

    • +2

Maintain the shares for 15 days and the second batch will (should) arrive.

  • Can vouch this method works!

  • What's the average time it takes to receive the shares after depositing?

    • A few minutes. You should get an email as well

      • It’s in the rewards tab. But there will be an estimated date for it to actually be in your account. Mine was about a week and a bit

        • Awesome. I can see it in the rewards.
