A whopping 64GB of ultra-fast solid state storage from PQI at a bargain price for under $4000. Now if you're shopping on a budget you can grab the IDE SSD for only $3760 making it an excellent choice for upgrading your parents PC.

Most importantly Fluidtek are famous for their top notch customer service from the man of the house, Fast Eddie! With their no questions asked, easy returns and price matching policy you know you'll be looked after if there's any issues to arise.

And as a special offer for OzBargain, if you snap a picture of yourself wearing a "I love Fluidtek" tshirt at Msy he'll give you 70% off ONE item!

Just one piece of advice. Fast Eddie is friends with the local police (he has a picture to prove it) so don't talk Julia Gillard around him.

PS5 compatible? Can anyone recommend a good heat sink?

    • +4

I'm using it on a pre-release Xbox 720, it loads "Hogwarts 2 - The crackling" in under one lunar orbit.

      • Still can’t run Cyberpunk though

  • +1

Thanks, OP :-) Got 2. Found a cheaper price here: https://www.esis.com.au/Adv1CPU/Prices_Turbo_II_090300.pdf

I bet they don't offer the level of care fast Eddie offers.

  • I haven't heard her name in years

    Thanks price matched OW!

  • Who is actually still hosting the website?

    • Eddie

      The Australian Taxation Office

  • What.

  • Lol joining in for the lols

Well done Clear - mods are active but they are letting this run

    Fast Eddie would be proud

    • Not 12 yet 😜

    • April fools today

  • Welcome back Eddy. Fadi still there?

  • Is this 64TB or GB lol

    • +1

GB they cost more because they are industrial

  • Bought a dozen to populate my server rack for my ever growing library of linux ISOs, thanks OP!

  • I'm having trouble checking out with one their CPUs, it says it's in stock and lets me add it to cart, but when I go to check out, I get a DNS error. Is anyone else having this problem?

Seems like a good price for a boxed genuine i7

    • I hope you're just joining in on the joke, because that CPU is old enough to be in highschool.

      • I did some research, I'm pretty sure this is be a scam, be careful. The shop doesn't even exist anymore! I'm guessing someone must have informed the cyber police and they shut the link down for making purchases.

  • Bought 10. Bargain.

    Remember his sign?
"if you find it cheaper, go there and buy it"

  • I almost got 2 of the IDE SSD’s, but in order to configure the drives on the same cable, I needed to set one as master, one as slave, and I don’t really wanna upset or trigger anyone anywhere with that so I cancelled the order.

    • +1

You can reorder - update your PC BIOS and it will show primary/secondary.

      • The labels on the drives and documentation still has the offensive terminology. I cannot proceed with a clear conscience.

        • Username checks out

    • I had issues pushing my code to GitLab as they renamed master to main.

I'm all for being PC, but feel as though 'master' shouldn't be a big deal.

This website is great. A total time machine into a much more expensive time in my life…

  • no bargain listed same price as in 2008

    • whoosh

      • i know it is a joke post

i always wonder if some of these sites on internet are just orphans where business no longer exists.
who keeps hosting sites and forums once the owner vanishes.
do the pay hosts 20 years upfront or something

this site reminds me much of what we made in middle school in late 90s

        • With those reports it's hard to tell 😜

Certainly seems like a long term plan. Eddie is still around running Logitechshop so maybe it's nostalgic for him.

There's a story he built the website for another PC store he worked at, then left (fired?) and basically reused it for his own.

Lol. This wasn’t what I had in mind for my first post on Ozbargain but there may be no greater pleasure I can think of than flaming that Fluidtek bozo in this forum…… Well unless someone finds a real flame thrower on Ozbargain and pays his store a visit. Please post pictures of the smouldering ruin and melted Logitech gear when you do it :-)

(profanity) you Eddie or whatever your name is. If you read this know that you are universally despised. The fluid in your business name is stinking diarrhoea you worthless crook.

I feel like there's a story behind this rant.

      • Ha ha. Yeah. Not feeling it as much as it might sound as it's years ago when he was at his shop in Carlingford. I bought two monitors and realised I got VGA instead of HDMI. Took them back and he charged 10% restocking on both even though one was completely sealed and I was immediately buying more expensive HDMI models from him. Just a real dick. Sorry in hindsight that I didn't tell him to shove it and bought elsewhere. On top of that some prick in the queue behind me was delighted and amused at the treatment I was given. I'm over it but couldn't resist making a comment when I saw the post :-)

shame on you ChatGPT! you've been beat and shamed like Richmond last night.

The 90's called, they want their website back

Quite easy to see if Eddie was on his meds or not when you walk in. Lol.

Thanks, been looking for some SSDs with an industrial aesthetic for a while. Bought 5 for my RAID5 array.

  • bought a few components for an amd athlon system yeeeeears ago from them

  • the USB external floppy drive for $69 is also tempting http://www.fluidtek.com.au/category31_1.htm

My first SSD was a 64gb OCZ

I think it cost me about $300 in 2013. Was still worth it. Mind blowing at the time…

    • Same here, bought a 64 OCZ for ~$100 at that time which was the cheapest option on the market.

      • i've a 128MB USB stick that was about $1.03 per MB at the time, more expensive than the equivalent number of floppy disks but not hugely so. I keep it for "sentimental reasons" and so I can make comments like this one on websites.

    • OCZ Vertex or Agility?
Either way 64GB for $300 means you got rorted.
      OCZ was 120GB for $300 in 2010.

Is this an April Fool's joke? I was just wondering what happened to Fast Eddie the other day. Weird.

    • Lol, I didn't read the price.

      • +1

Ah the memories of Eddie running the business out of his house on Saturday mornings. Or was it Sundays?

        • Wasn't there an issue with the council over that and he had to shut it down? This is like back when MSY were nothing more than a stall at the Melbourne tech markets.

          Those were the days.

          • @Clear: Yeah I think so. I used to go down to the North Rocks computer market beforehand to make sure Eddie had the best price lol.

      • Ha for a minute my brain autocorrected the GB to TB. It seemed like a reasonable price until I realised my mistake aha

  • Eddie was a good bloke!

I used to post here when he has awesome deals over the weekends!

    I miss those days :(
