5/4: Looks like price has dropped to $838.14 (as noted by @brianjefferson) which is all time low price posted on here.

Not exactly cheapest posted on here (only by a few dollars), but still good price if you can wait for it to be shipped from US.

Google says HP Reverb G2 release date: November 2020.

Per eye resolution seems ok (2160 x 2160 per eye) and on par with recent releases, but with everything else how does it keep up?

This thing is the go-to for sims. I have an oculus CV1 and a Quest 2, but I borrowed one from a mate briefly a while ago. The resolution was incredible compared to the Quest 2. There are of course many other headsets suitable for sims, but this one is right up there.

Sorry looks like I confused this as an all in one. Reverb G2 is just a VR headset, although by your opinion seems to be one of the better ones.
Also the high price I guess kinda indicates it is made to a high standard.

Definitely best bang for buck on the market if you're after image quality, can't beat it, especially if you're a sim enthusiast the g2 is a solid choice.

I have this, had it since launch. My advice would be to make sure you have a powerful GPU to drive it as both OLEDs result in a resolution equivalent to 4K. My 3080 gets only 15 fps when flying over water in FS2020. I'd go 4080 or 4090.

    • Definitely also a decent CPU to match if playing flight sim

      • Was already running a 5900X back in 2020.

    • Is the refresh rate high enough to avoid motion sickness? I’m wondering if I move my head around, will the video appear to stutter or still look very smooth?

      • Moving your head around, the refresh rate is much better. But the actual game you are playing itself will cause motion sickness. Seriously, unless you have a 4080-class card, I would go for a Quest 2 instead and run it tethered.

      both OLEDs

      It's LCD, not OLED.

  • this is windows mix reality? what is difference say vs index.

    • Yes, this uses Windows mixed reality, so it is fiddly in many games, but works easily with MS titles like FS2020.

Personally, I have used it with FS2020 and my steam library.

  • Are there many games in xbox game pass that have VR versions on pc?

I have this exact model and love it!! Ant questions feel free to ask. I am running my 11th gen i5 and 4070Ti witb it and get very good performance on hakf life alyx

  • This or a PS5+PS VR2 if you already have a decent PC?

      I was really disappointed in my psvr2 compared to my pc + quest2 + link cable (5900x & 3080)

      • What didn't you like about it? I've heard some people have fitment issues or blurry images but haven't tried one yet as I have a pimax

        • The sweat spot is really small, so Im constantly adjusting the headset during play to stop the blurryness. Despite apparently having a fan, mine fog up in seconds. I have a pedestal fan behind me to try and reduce it. The image has a film grain look to it which I really hate. Out of the box thrres terrible ghosting. But dropping the brightness by 10% sorts that.
The Halo strap design is really sweaty for me, im constantly cleaning it mid game. Especially on Horizon.

        • Honestly it just looks worse than it feels like it should with the specs it has. Plus it has pretty bad mura (pixel by pixel colour inconsistency especially in dark scenes).

It's not bad by any means, but the G2 beats it for clarity.

  • I only got charged $838.14 through Prime. Decent bargain!
