  • You use an autoclub discount of 10% instead of the EPP. eg. www.dell.com.au/racv

  • this still seems pricey to me.. i'm sure its a great monitor and all, but $600 for a 24"…. but then i'm not so up to speed on the subtleties perhaps..

    • Keep in mind that all the Dell monitors just went up 20-25% because of our screwy dollar.

    • I'm guessing you aren't the type to buy $5000 50" LCD TV's then…

      • yeah prob not. hugely diminishing returns at that price point..

    • Make sure you compare Apples with Apples (and then while you at it have a look at Apple Cinema Displays prices for a real LOL)

Don't confuse this UltraSharp 24" monitor with 178degree viewing angle, 8-bit panel, and 1-2% colour gamut, with the regular low end commodity 24" monitors (which Dell also sells, along with ever other maker on the planet).

You need to compare this to the high end Samsungs, and Apple's, and the other high end Dells.

      I've got the 2407 and it's GREAT.
I also swooped in and got a bargain deal at the time.
If I had any excuse to buy another monitor now, then this deal, with 10% RACV coupon is the best you will see for along time I reckon, given what our dollar is doing.

PS: how did this get posted under APPAREL ??? :-)

  • HDMI to HDMI is worth $158?

    wth?

    • Maybe it's meant to be $15.80? lol Not even Monster would have the audacity to charge that much for a HDMI cable (or maybe so).

      • I think it means speakers AND the hdmi cable which if bought separately from Dell would cost that much…

However 1300:1 typical is not what it says on the site, rather it's 1000:1, though it used to be listed as 1300:1 until a few months ago, not sure if these revision one models had contrast reduced to fix some minor issues or what the reason is for the cange in actual ratio, dynamic remains the same at 3000:1.

      • I wouldn't be surprised — I was looking through a JB Hifi (what I thought was) bargain bin. I saw a damaged case with a HDMI cable inside. The price — reduced to $199 (One hundred and ninety nine dollars). At that price I was tempted to get a few.

    • I think its for the speakers + cable

But Dell quote retail for everything, so even though you can get them cheaper, that's what's Dell's price is.

  • If anyone is after one of these for a much better price let me know.

I have two available as they just arrived from Dell yesterday (unopened)

    • Can't you get a refund under Dell's 30 day return policy?

    • how much are you willing to sell it? is it including the speaker and hdmi? how long did you buy the warranty (3 or 5 yrs)?
can I get the tax invoice? and what the reason you don't want it? oh yeah what version saying on the box? A01? please let me know at [email protected]

  • Yeah thanks Mickey, If I cannot sell them I may return them.

I also think it might be a 15 day return policy?
