  • Seems too cheap

    • +2

Yes it is cheap. It's part of once in a year sale with lowest prices.

    • Cause it's only 20watt output, pretty dismal really.

  • The black one on Amazon is not discounted.

I’m not buying, I have enough powerbanks to last me till the next pandemic.

    • +2

Why do you need powerbanks in the pandemic? No electricity at home?

      • +1

        Buy first think later?

      • HardQuiz likes to go against the grain, and travel as much as possible during a pandemic.

  • +4

I bought the first release of this unit and its been great - the Mrs cannot get off Facebook all day + her phone is still fully charged for Facebook all night!!!

(Seriously though its a good unit)

  • +8

Please be aware. This is above 100Wh which means you will have to get airline approval to bring it onboard. Even more fun is you need approval in either direction. Going to and coming back from.

    • On my last trips no one bother to check or ask about my power bank (its small watt but big body, the old xiaomi).

I wonder if they really check the wattage of every power bank they see through?

      • They have done it every single time on me. Even had 4x 20k mAh and they had no problem with that.

        • Maybe limit is per unit ie as long yours is 20k each you can bring many? Probably im wrong… and why you brought 4??

          • @CyberMurning: 2 was for my use and gifted 2 to my friend overseas.

      • I've had it transiting through China. I only had one with me (less than 100Wh) but I noticed they checked each person's powerbank/s very closely

      • Last flight back to Australia with Qantas, the last bag check just before boarding the plane they check my power bank capacity (I believe I have the same one as you, the 16000mah old model).

    • +1

Thanks for sharing, was curious if its flight compliant.

      • +3

It is but you need approval. Which is just a hassle each time you fly. Better just bringing 2 of the 20000mAh.

        • Ah there you confirmed my thought

        • +1

You can get 27800mAh to max it out at 99.9Wh, like the Zendure SuperTank

          • @Doy: Or 2 of these. 😄

    • I had mine checked for the first time the other week. They just wrapped an oversized label around it and I will still allowed to take as carry on.

Edit: Did not seek airline approval, this happened at security in China

      • +1

China is huge and has a billion airports and billion trillion staff and infinity zerg swarm of passengers. Flying out from Shanghai, I had mine confiscated without even being informed. No dramas flying in.

    • The worse is that you can give it cabin staff and they will keep it for you until you land.

      • Huh so it still go into the flight? So whats the point where it kept? Oh maybe used vs not used

        • Yeah probably to make sure you don't start a fire in the back

          • @1d0ntkn0w: Instructions unclear. Now im roasting marshmallows on the flight.

        • Maybe in a flame protective bag?

  • Is the brightness of the light adjustable?

    • Unfortunately not.

    1. Why 4 ports but only can charge 3 devices max at the same time?
    2. How easy to accidentally press the button ie when inside bag. Dont want to reach and its empty because light is on
    3. Very sad about this is over 100w flight limit
    • Only guessing here, but maybe the 4th port will be used for for power input

      • hmm looking at the photo, the 3 doesnt have any sign but 1 C port has (I/O) meaning input and output, so all 4 should be able to output?

        • one of the picture says:

Conveniently Charge 3 Devices at it's Max Power.

So it sounds like you can do 4 devices, but it won't be at the listed rate. The picture has 2C1A plugged in, so maximum total output from the power bank is 56W (20W + 18W + 18W)?

          USB-C1 Input: 5V/2A 9V/2A (18W)
          USB-C2 Input Only: 5V/2A 9V/2A 12V/1.5A (18W)
          USB-C1 Output: 5V/3A, 9V/2.22A, 12/1.67A (20W)
          USB-A1/A2 Output: 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12/1.5A (18W)

          @ibelievesyd can you confirm?

          • +1

@CodeXD: C2 port is input only. You can charge 3 devices simultaneously at 20W max (Not 56W) Power will be distributed between the 3 devices depending on the devices connected.

            • @ibelievesyd: oh got it sorry its on the description i was looking at the photo to find something next to the port that say I only :D

    • +2
      1. There are 3 output ports and 2 input ports. You can use pass through charging and charge 3 devices at the same time.
      2. Lights turn on by a long press only. If your battery is 100% and the button gets pressed, the power bank will not die for 90 hours at least. Even if you notice after 2 days, there will still be enough power left.
      3. It uses 3x10000mah Li-Polymer batteries. If Li-ion then it could have been possible but unfortunately it cannot be changed immediately. Probably towards the end of the year we'll surely consider to replace 10000mah batteries with 9000mah.
      • Why does it say Lithium-Ion on the back of the box? (Quick start guide says Li-Po)

        • It's definitely Li-polymer. We'll get it fixed :(

      • Will this accept a charge and deliver power to the other ports sametime (UPS function)?

  • +4

Please be aware that this exceeds the limits for carry on luggage when flying. The limit is 27,000mAh

  • Can you charge the powerbank itself with 18W?

    • +1

Yes you can. Input via either USB-C ports is 20W

      • Cool, sold thank you. Recently bought a gan powerpod of your brand and it works great + I like the small footprint.

  • +1

I bought black Zyron 20K Mah battery about 1.5yrs ago and it only holds approx half of original charge. goes flat after 3 charges. Worked great initially - for about a year.
Dont know if its worth it.

    • +1

Those 2 models have been discontinued. This model comes with 2 years warranty.

      • +2

Great deflection… how about helping them out with a potential ELF. I do remember you writing about helping those that were outside warranty.

Unless these batteries were abused these should follow the same curve as mobile phone batteries if they are made in the same way i.e. 500 charges roughly 80% capacity left.

    • same issue as you, my good man. But mine only does like 1 charge….and now it aint even recharging

  • Have you got anything thats good for charging a laptop but doesn't exceed the flight restrictions?

  • Just in time for my New Zealand trip!

    • +1

      dont forget to ask approval

  • omg just checking the size this one is 3x thicker from my old xiaomi.. hmmm make sense, 3x capacity lol

  • +1

just a word of warning - these are too big to take on a plane as luggage, 100Wh is the limitation (which is about 27,000mAh)

most security people at airports don't even know this is a rule, but at some point you'll find one that does, and then you'll be down a power bank :)

and i'm evidence that people skim through comments and don't read all of them

        • and now we have evidence you've wasted more time than was necessary to begin with for yourself and others :)

        • and i'm evidence that people skim through comments and don't read all of them

dont worry, we have a 5th

  • Sorry for dumb question, but is this capable of Power Delivery to a laptop or not? The title says PD but can't find it in the specs?

    • is this capable of Power Delivery to a laptop or not?

      No.

Max output is 20W - most laptops will require minimum 45W. Best to check with your laptop to see what wattage it supports.

    • +1

PD 20W max so not compatible with laptops. Laptop power bank is coming soon :)

  • Can this provide constant power to a 5w USB A device until it runs flat?
Some of my portable batteries automatically switch off after certain time periods.

  • Just bought yesterday on amazon for $44 :(

  • Is this a decent quality brand?

    • better than the famous HeyFire

    • If you can trust Chinese brands like Baseus, Romoss, Veektomx, Charmast then you could give it a shot to an Australian brand :) Regardless, you would find ample of reviews on Amazon, Ebay, Ozbargain and our own website (with customer images). Plus you get 2 years warranty which will only increase in future products.

    • I've got four Zyron 10,000mah power banks, still going well.

Two dead Romoss unfortunately, one puffed out and the other wouldn't charge. Only got about 11 months of very occasional use.

They were all bought about the same time as I was on a weird powerbank buying phase

    Over 100 Wh

If your power bank is between 100Wh and 160Wh you may still take it with you, but it will need to be cleared by the airline.

    • Virgin(virginaustralia.com) will approve 2 spare battery packs, 101-160Wh, when declared at check-in.
    • Rex(rex.com.au) will approve 2 spare battery packs, 101-160Wh, when declared at check-in.
    • Qantas(qantas.com) and Jestar(jetstar.com) will approve these batteries but require prior-approval via an email to <[email protected]and declaration at check-in.
