  • Already have DEATH STRANDING on PS5, is the DIRECTOR'S CUT worth it ?

    • +4

If you have the PS5 version of Death Stranding, then that would be the Directors Cut (unless you are playing the PS4 version on PS5).

      • +1

        Its PS4 version

    • The upgrade to Director's Cut is $10 isn't it? Or was that a PC only thing? But to answer the question, I guess it depends on how much you liked the game to begin with. AFAIK it doesn't add anything in terms of story, it's just extra side stuff.

      • +1

DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT on PC includes HIGH FRAME RATE, PHOTO MODE and ULTRA-WIDE MONITOR SUPPORT,
I think it also include QOL improvements on some stuff

        • +1

It also includes wired support for the dualsense controller's adaptive features.

        • Thanks HIGH FRAME RATE is probably worth it.

        • +1

What an absolute joke to lock these basic features to the directors cut

          • @OZKap: The photo mode is the only addition here, it's just a copy-pasted blurb from the PS5 version

        • I bought the regular version from epic in 2020 and it has all that so it's all very weird.

      • Upgrade is $15:
        https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/death-stranding-director…
This bundle would be better value.

        • Sometimes the bundle is reduced to be 8.99 but I dont know how often

  • +1

I've got Xbox game pass, there I already have Aliens: Fireteam Elite

Is this bundle still worth it? My strong assumption is yes, but I figured I'd ask first

    • +1

Aliens: Fireteam Elite left Xbox Gamepass in December right?
      Pretty good deal I think.

      • Good pick-up, I hadn't played it recently, therefore I didn't realise it had left.

Nonetheless, I'll jump on this bundle when I get home.

Hopefully Death Stranding will be a solid playable game. When it first came out on the PS4 (or 5, I don't recall), I use to watch my mate play it on Twitch, and my conclusion from the random times I jumped in and watched, was basically he was a Fedex driver, delivering packages all the time lol

      • Death stranding's still on game pass too isn't it? (P.S. also believe it was free on Epic so check your library)

Life is strange 2 has left game pass though I think.

    • +2

It's a very strong bundle. The fact that it's on ozbargain at all should be an indication that it's a good one.

PC gamers (especially vocal ones that are on social media) seem to be very hard to please lately but even they are very happy about this month's offering. There was a leak of the top 3 games a couple of days ago and some people thought it might be a late April Fool's joke.

      • Yeah very true, re: being on Ozbargain. I posted my comment within 5-10 mins after the deal was published, and only had 1-2 likes (hence my Q). I can now see it's gotten a lot of OzB love, so definitely a good deal.

        • Even looking beyond the two headliners, you are getting some very highly rated games. Rollerdrome is getting lots of love on reddit and it's not an old game at all. Released in Aug 22. Yes, some of these have been free (Epic wasn't supposed to give away the Director's Cut) or they may be on GamePass, but according to ITAD only Monster Prom 2 has been bundled.

Edit: I also kinda meant only the "really good" monthly choice bundles find their way here. I find value in every month but I'm sure I'm in the minority.

      • I do think this is a great bundle, but it being on Ozbargain doesn't mean it's good. Look at all the free 'indiegogo' rubbish posted; games no one should play.

        • I mean humble monthly bundles specifically. Obviously there is one every month but they aren't on ozb very often. I think anytime there is one that is widely considered to be good, it does appear here.

  • You need to join membership to get these prices.

    • +9

Humble Choice is the membership. $16.95AUD for a bunch of games each month. You can choose on a per month basis whether you want to pay depending on the games, you’re not locked into a subscription.

For the $16.95 you get the games listed in the OP. Pretty good.

  • +2

Just a heads-up if you have Death Stranding on Steam already you'll probably run into errors redeeming this version. Looks like Humble is aware and is trying to do something about it but you can find workarounds on reddit.

Edit: The workaround is just below the key on Humble for now. I don't know if that is all they will do for it. I was hoping they would do something that didn't require user intervention.

  • +1

This is a ripper of a deal for some fantastic games. At AUD $16.95 to join for a month, it's actually a bit cheaper than the usual USD $11.99 to AUD exchange rate.

(Make sure to cancel your monthly membership renewal right away after redeeming the games so that you don't forget)

  • +1

    Already had Death Stranding.
Picked up the two games I was most interested in (Monster Prom and Rollerdrome) cheaply on allkeyshop.
Seems like the prices drop on the key shops when games are included in humble bundle.

    • +2

Yep prices drop a lot on key sites once something has been in a bundle. If you only want 1 or 2 of the games it might be cheaper to buy from them after a week or two.

    • Is that a safe website to buy from? Which currency did you use since there's no $AUD?

      • I've bought around 20 games with no issue. I paid in Euros via Paypal.

      • I use Instant Gaming a fair bit and never had an issue.

  • +3

First in a while I haven't skipped, I did the usual steps of 'threatening' to skip another month anyway, and they did the thing of offering me a 4USD coupon to stay ($5.93AUD at checkout) bringing it down to 11 Aussie bucks. Not bad at all :D

    • does that mean that you have already been in the membership, not that you just joined for 11AUD as a new subscriber?

      • Yeah a few years, skipped on and off.

  • I'm still on the Humble Choice classic plan and paying in USD ($12 USD = ~ $17.80). The 'please don't pause subscription' discount is $4 (=$8 USD). What's the pause discount when paying in AUD, $5/6?

$8 USD is about $12 AUD. I'm wondering if I'm better offer cancelling my classic plan and paying in AUD from now on…

    • +1

It says next bill, so assuming you get that $4 USD discount, it'll apply for this month.

Should note that once you apply said discount, you don't get the please don't pause discount for awhile afterwards.

    • Never tried that before, but I hit skip a month and it only offered me US$2?

      • You probably need to skip more than two or so months to be offered the $4 discount. I probably buy every third or fourth choice bundle and always receive the $4 discount when trying to skip a month.

I'm still not sure what the AUD please don't skip a month discount is.

  • +1

Bought for Rollerdrome (which I have been keen on for a while) and Death Stranding. Is there a quick way to see an Aliens Firestorm key? Anyone want it for a fiver?

    • $3 and you have my attention :)

  • +2

3 good games but most will have the std edition of Death Stranding from Epic for free.

  • +1

I guess I'm the odd one out here, nothing in this pack looks appealing

  • +2

The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante is quite good, don't sleep on it if you like this type of game

  • +1

I'd like to recommend The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante - if you're into that sort of thing it's fantastic and it stands up to several replays. Only complaint is that there's no good option to skip the first section on new runs, but you can spam through it pretty quickly.

  • +1

For whatever reason Humble offered me 2 months at $7 USD last month and I managed to not buy these before.

Haven't had a good Humble monthly in a long time.

  • How well do these run on steam deck?

    • This Youtube channel seems to go through the games that feature in the Humble Choice Monthly, every? month. Hasn't done April's yet. I'm guessing they will eventually.

Another page that gives a little info.

    • They did an update, just for you. 😉

  • Says it's expired but when I go to the page it still says April games. Anyone know if I would get different games if I joined now?
