    Flippin’ good prices

Does it really pay to buy a new prouduct upon release? Wait a few months and pay half as they try to flip it for a potential update. Unless they are a Flippin Floppy Fone!

Does it really pay to buy a new prouduct upon release?
Nope only unwise ppl do that. And weird if you have to camp outside on the street to get them

      • +3

Sometimes it does, in the past with Samsung, trade in values and bundles were lucrative. Could get significant discounts and then bundled with headphones, or credit towards genuine accessories made it lucrative. Haven't seen anything ground breaking recently though.

      • This still happens?

        • Yeah, KFC filmed a commercial at one recently.

    • Came out August 2022. In the mobile phone world, that’s not new.

      • +6

        That's his point.

        • +1

Yea, got it. Slow start today;)

  • +3

256GB seems the best value then, being $90 cheaper than JB. Savings on 128GB & 512GG not so high

    • +1

Really would like to upgrade from S21 plus 128GB to this 256GB.

      Anyone has experience on both?

  • +1

Is it a decent phone? v's deals on Pixel 6 ?

    • Yes, the only reason you would get this phone is because you like the form factor. If you don't, don't.

  • +6

Still not convinced of the durability of these folding phones.

    • +1

Been 4 generations so far and they are lasting. What reasoning do you have?

      • Does the crease not bother you? And from what I see it tends to become worse over time. I only replaces phone typically every 4-5 years, and my previous phone given a good wipe looks almost as good as new. Would the hinge actualy lasts daily abuse for at least 4 years?

        • -1

The original Fold came out in 2019 and that's almost 4 years ago. The hinge does indeed actually last daily abuse quite well. If you were expecting the phone to fall to bits, it hasn't and won't happen.

We are already 4 generations into foldables now, the technology clearly works and is durable long term. It's only going to get better as more and more competition enters the space

      • This is a new mechanical hinge.

    • Neither was I, until I had mine for 2 years and it's still kicking. Not sure about other brands but flip3 is tough and stylish as hell.

    • -1

it's not like the screen folds, its just dual screens

  • +7

Urgh, i am sick of being broke cause of this site!

    • +1

It's not because of ozargain that you're broke

      • +3

        What about ozbargain?

  • +1

    Will JB price match amazon?

    • +2

      Yes

  • +2

I've got the Flip3 and absolutely love it. Waiting on news for the 5 however. Anyone who was wanting to make a switch to a flip phone probably can't go wrong with this price.

    • +1

you love its battery as well ?

      • +1

I’ve got the 3 and it’s fine. I use it as work phone as well. The Flip 4 is supposed to be even better. My personal iPhone 13 Pro Max is heaps better but the 4 would be more than fine. Whether I have 50% or 20% left end of day as long as it’s surplus.

      • The battery is actually pretty bad. I haven't had an instance where the battery died on me during daily usage. Although I am very good with charging it every night.
If you are prone to forgetting to charge your phone over night, this isn't the phone for you. It won't last 2 days on a single charge.

Wish they were this price when my iphone 12 broke a month ago.

Went with the iphone 13 mini for the same price.
Probably should stick with apple anyway…

  • Hmm this has me interested

  • +1

How's the durability of the flipping screen? will it last longer say keep it permanently open while at home, then flip it close while outside in handbag.

    • This is what I do with mine. Been great for 8 months or so.

  • +1

OW haven't dropped their price yet which is strange. Go and price beat if you're interested in buying this

My wife has flip 3 for 18 months. Its a great phone but be prepared for some screen issues. We had 2 times that factory screen protector failed and 1 time screen completed died and replaced. I dont have trust in this phone that will last 1 more year without problems just because of folding design and shortcoming that comes with it

  • +2

Another person at work suffer the screen protector failure this week and was told you only get 1 free replacement over the lifetime.

It's Samsung…way. trade in and save.

  • +5

Watch this YouTube video before you buy. The flip 4 is pretty much having similar issue. The folding screen tech hasn’t improve that much. A friend’s flip 4 has screen protector fold issue as well.

It is on sale for that much because of so many problems.

  • Imagine the folds at this price, dream

  • maybe can stack with this 5% extra with "EASTER5"

  • I went to Chadstone, Samsung store. These guys don't price match their own Amazon store. So stay away from them

  • They are not doing price match on phone call anymore. Theyu are saying to visit store for price match. And none of the stores have stock in VIC

    • With JB you do the online chat from the product page. Give them Amazon link. JB will give you a special checkout link with the matched price.
