            @brainactive: Hmm maybe it’s a temporary charge and your order didn’t actually go through? Either way it’s probably best to cancel and make a new order through cheddar so your cashback tracks properly.

              @WoodYouLikeSomeCash: The refund came through but still getting same message. Transaction declined. Tried separate card separate browser. Called them up and they said it should work. Anyone else getting this issue?

  Gift card denominations are $50 or $100 even the digital version…. so to trigger the $70 cash back you would have to spend $100. 5% cashback = $95 spend… So technically you spend $25 for a $100 ($95- 70) gift card, which is still a good deal so you get a plus

  where can one use Restaurant Choice Gift Cards is it at fancy restaurants only? i tried kfc and other fast food stores and it didnt work.

    The terms and conditions of the Restaurant Choice gift cards makes it clear it is supposed to be redeemable at merchants using specific merchant category codes (MCCs), including:

    • Eating Places and Restaurants (5812)
    • Drinking Places (Alcoholic Beverages), Drinking Places (Non-Alcoholic Beverages), Bars, Taverns, Cocktail Lounges, Nightclubs and Discotheques (5813)
    • Fast Food Restaurants (5814)

    KFC and other fast food stores are supposed to use 5814 as a MCC.

    There are a number of reasons this could have happened, including (but not limited to):

    • The merchant you were at could not read the information coming from your mobile device.

    • The merchant you were at could not read the information on the physical gift card's magstripe.

    • The merchant detected you using a prepaid gift card as a payment method and rejected it. (Keep in mind that prepaid gift cards are not tied to a verified cardholder, so they are a riskier form of payment for merchants to accept.)

    • Blackhawk Network declined the payment attempt, because the merchant you were at was not using a permitted MCC.

    • Blackhawk Network chose to decline the transaction for some random reason.

    • The merchant's financial institution could not contact Blackhawk Network to finalise the payment attempt before it timed out.

      thanks i just doubled checked it is a $100 Best Restaurant Voucher not a Restaurant Choice Gift Card so i might contact citibank who issued it to me but i suspect it only valid at listed fancy restaurants.

        Best Restaurant Vouchers are different, they are limited to certain restaurants unlike the Restaurant Choice which can be used at all restaurants with the correct MCC. Source.

      Hey mate, Do you know if the Restaurant Choice Gift Card have a 16 digit card number(similar to credit/debit cards?) and do you know if these work on Menulog ?

  Anyone know how long it took for the purchase to appear in pending under Cashback? All I have is the $70 bonus but no record of the restaurant choice gift card, only click history. It's been a day but usually these things register within an hour or so like Shopback.

  LOL so $70 Crappy giftcard + $3.50 cash back vs for example $70 Ebay purchase of your choice .
  I'd value the latter as much higher market value .
