Instant Pot Duo Crisp and Air Fryer 8L $199 @ Costco (Membership Required)

190

Seems like a good price (apologies if not) - I like the stainless pot as it's not Teflon which seems to scratch up when I cook/wash after awhile. I have the 3.7L Instantpot I use as a rice cooker, pressure cooking, etc - seems to suit our small family of 3. We recently cooked Pho with a Phillips pressure cooker and our smaller Instantpot and it reduced the time tremendously. Our Phillips Teflon is scratched off in parts though as is our Kmart airfryer, so I just need to convince my wife to "invest" in this.

From memory the Costco membership is refundable within the 12 months…?

    Refundable membership??? Jesus

      • I don't know if I'd bother with a refundable membership just to buy one thing.

      • For electronic goods, Costco Wholesale’s return policy for change of mind only applies for 90 days from the date the member receives the following goods: televisions, projectors, major household appliances (including refrigerators, freezers, rangehoods, cooktops, microwaves, dishwashers, washers and dryers), computers, touchscreen tablets, smart watches, cameras, aerial cameras (including drones) security cameras, camcorders, MP3 players, cellular phones and portable air conditioners

Can I return the TV and mobile phone even opened and used but within 90 days?

    • On more than 1 occasion I have got a membership, bought a full trolley of goods, and refunded on exit.
Only condition was I can not re-apply within 12 month period.

  • Be good if there were a 3.7Lt air fryer version

    • But the basket internally would be tiny.
I have the 6liter version. The 8 is enormous.

      • Good for single people.

I have a 1.5Lt air fryer, it’s great and perfect size but cheaply made. Don’t reckon it’ll last more than a few more years at best (and I really look after my gear)

  • +1

Reason why Iike stainless pots is because of the easy ability to deglaze, you can't really do that with the nonstick stuff. All those stuck on bits are packed with flavour.

Agree stainless is huge selling point

    • So you use this to brown meat first? That would be great.

    • Why do you need to deglaze a slow cooker? I thought you brown first then slow cook

  • Sometimes it's on sale on amazon, Duo Crisp + Air Fryer 11-in-1 Multicooker 8L $199 Delivered @ Amazon AU

  • +1

I have one of these and it's ok. Useful for those with very limited space, although it is quite big it is smaller than having two seperate machines. As a pressure cooker it is hard to fault. As an air fryer it is passable (barely but still).

    • Is the air fryer function not great? I have been thinking of getting one of these to replace my Target airfryer. I would be using it mostly for the airfryer function.

    • As an air fryer it is passable (barely but still)

Do you have a view as to why it doesn’t perform better as an air fryer? Is circulation a problem?

  • Got it on sale for $130 from amazon.
