    • The ebay listing doesn't include the HRM does it? So you can't compare the price.

      • That's correct. Again, merriman02 is a great example of comparing apples with oranges.

  • Worth considering getting one without the HRM and sniffing around for a third party HRM - the Garmin one is pretty ordinary and notorious for spiking after a couple of months.

This is ANT (http://www.thisisant.com/modules/mod_product-directory.php?t…) lists all Ant+ HRM and speed/cadence sensors that are compatible with the 310XT.

The XTs are a bit known for coming unclipped from their bands during swims (check the bottom of any body of water where triathlons are held and there'll be a few down there!) and developing leaks after a couple of years.

They've been superseded by the 910XT, although since the model change was quite recent they're still carrying a significant premium. The 910XT carries Garmin's new swimming functionalities.

The Suunto model given does not have GPS capability nor the ANT+ compatibility to hook up with bike speed/cadence sensors

It's $299 from Rebel if you join their Season pass (free membership) - and this is with the HR monitor.

    http://www.rebelsport.com.au/ecom/rebel/product_detail.aspx?…

And with Rebel you get local warranty, I've had issues getting Garmin 305 watches repaired here that were bought overseas.

    • Paying with your details. I'd rather pay $8 more and not give out my details to these people. Also, 2 year warranty from Germany for the extra $8.

  • water proof up to 50m

what! so I can only do 1 lap before it starts leaking in water?!

    • Yes, better than none. :-))

    • That's a joke right??
