Just picked up three, one of the best bang for buck single malts you can find. Cheers OP

Why is this getting downvoted lol

      • +1

Its not like its hardly available, according to D&M, theres 100% availability surrounding my postcode :-/

  • +2

It is magic. I teetered about the $120 but after looking at the reviews and the price elsewhere ($150) and then reading down I saw $104 including a Glencairn glass. A great deal.

    • Have you ever seen a Johnnie Walker for $13.99 plus a glass

  • +1

    what a deal, ordered

  • +2

Even the glass has great reviews. Thanks OP, killer deal.

  • +4

    Very good deal.

Tangentially related, BWS are selling Glengoyne 30x50ml tasters (12 yo, 18 yo, and Legacy) for $20, with some stores selling for $15. Very good deal especially for the 18 included. Happy drinking.

    • You meant 3×50ml
Yes the last time I got them for $20 and liked all 3.

      • Haha woops yes of course!

    • Legacy was my fav one, probably due to the higher ABV.

  • Bought the Glengoyne from this deal. One of the best I've tasted and every single time I've given it to a guest they are amazed by it.

    • That stuff is liquid gold.

    • and this one is better than that $62 ?

  • Can confirm this works, nice find OP.

  • Amazing find - thanks OP. Bought a bottle and a couple of glasses for funsies.

  • Thanks OP, order a bottle.

  • I just finished a bottle of this over Easter weekend. Great whisky, couldn't pass this solid deal. Thanks OP

Slight side question, why have whiskeys gone up a lot in price?

    • Tax hike in Feb………

      • Just read, sheesh, i've been living off a case I bought years ago, but only realising now.

        • What case did you buy?

        • +3

Whisky by the case, ok high roller

          • @adam149: It was a semi gift from a client that owns a distillery in Tassie (cost price), but man o man seeing these price increases in 12 months is crazy

            • @tightm8: Tax goes up twice a year, 1st Feb and 1st Aug, in line with inflation.

        • If you had the funds this is a good whisky to buy up on as it always sells our or goes up to like $150

  • +7

    Don't need. Bought.

    To try against Aberlour A'Bunadh.

    Purely academic interest. Of course.

    • +3

      Of course. We understand.

  • thanks ordered 2

  • +1

Copped, saving this one for the celebration of success, let's hope I get to open it soon.

    • I shall be celebrating the success of purchasing this whisky by drinking a glass or two of this whisky.

  • +1

shows $120 until the payment page for me :/ . What am i missing ?

    • +1

you are missing the Glencairn Glass of course!

      • +1

It definately is magic ! Love you all !

  • +1

    59% alcohol😯

    • Cask Strength usually is around that mark (unless you are looking at 20yo+ scotch which has lost alcohol % over the years)

    • +1

it's actually very flammable - keep away from stove, oven etc

  • -2

    TIL: $104 is under $100

    • +2

The bottle is $97 once you add the glass.

  • Is this equivalent to 18 years?

    • +2

You're not getting cask strength 18 for this price.
You're paying for high quality juice, cask strength which will make your taste buds dance.

      • Oh I see. Learnt something new today. Thats explains the 59% alcohol rating…
Would you prefer 18 aged equivalent highland but watered down or this no age but cask strength?

        • +1

          This. Without question.
Bit of a generalisation but cask strength gives you a much more intense flavour compared to your 40% equivalents.
Even your entry level whiskies if you could get them in cask strength they will be so much more interesting.

          • +2

@adam149: Even your entry level whiskies if you could get them in cask strength they will be so much more interesting.

The caveat to this is imperfections in a whisky will be far more pronounced at cask strength, so higher ABV does not necessarily equal a better experience.

          • @adam149: It's some annoying BS how so many whiskies get watered down to 40% here due to our obscene taxation.

  • Confused but bought, cheers OP. Did love the 62 dollar 12yo deal.
Cask str, is not aged is that right?

    • +2

Aged a minimum of three years and a day. Would guess an average age of 8-10 years

    • It can still be aged. Cask strength just means it hasn't gone through a final filtering process that mellows out the whisky and brings the alcohol content down. To get away with cask strength the whisky has to be of really good quality, otherwise it's just rocket fuel.

  • Thanks Op, nice find. Just picked up my order!

  • Cracking deal, thank you!

  • got 3 lol, liver rekt

  • any thoughts on this compared to the Lagavulin?

    • yes, this is cheaper!

    • Totally different type of Whiskey. I like both but my pallet prefers Glengoyne 12 over Laga 16 on most nights.

  • +1

This is an awful deal, trying to budget for new house build and now I have this expense :-(

    • +16

If your builder is Porter Davis you will need this

  • Glass can no longer be added so bottle is $120 🙄

    • Try a different store

    • Try changing stores. It might just be sold out at your selected store

  • Well that was an adventure.

Glass not available at closest Dan Murphy’s. Bottle not available at next closest… both available at 3rd closest.

    Many thanks OP..!!

Finishing work a bit late tonight, making up for a late start this morning. And found myself buying two bottles.
Never had whisky glasses before, looking forward to try.

  • Thanks OP. At this price, had to buy two.

  • Hate the glasses but hey it saves me money!

  • I caught on this too late :( seems to be sold out everywhere in vic

    • western burbs seem to have plenty, Essendon Fields, Taylors Lakers, Melton, Sunbury etc

      • +1

Won’t deliver to my place and thoses places are too far, oh well, wasn’t meant to be

  • Seems to be OOS in NSW too

    • Found in Frenchs forest, mosman, manly vale

      • Thanks mate, managed to pick one up after looking around a bit longer. Will have to travel out to a suburb I haven't been in over a decade though…

  • Ripper, thanks OP

  • Thanks, bought 2 and ready for pickup

  • Got 2!

  • Placed order for 1. Ready for pickup👍

Got stuck in extremely slow checkouts for 30min. (Now freed up.)
At checkout finally showed no longer available at that store, despite showing available. Tried other stores - same problem.

  • Buy, drink, cancer, regret, die

    • +2

You forgot enjoy, laugh, play, love, experience…😃
Got to have some enjoyment on that inevitably journey😉

(Most will have cancer anyway - even if we don't drink. It's always likely if we live long enough. My elderly relatives never drank alcohol - but all had cancer🤔)
Regrets - it's just a state of mind.

I'll drink to your self induced misery🍷

        • +2

Seems that's your choice🤔 (Not mine.)
As people have done for millennia!

But yours is a cynical misinterpretation of my reminder to enjoy, laugh, play, love, experience… (which requires no alcohol or drugs).

Just as Buy, drink, cancer, regret, die is a bleak overreaction to buying a bottle of alcohol.

Have helped many people dying (often from cancer) make choices about their remaining life & impending death. Listened to their stories. They usually find it's handy to put things in perspective.

Death is about the only certainty in life. So embrace & celebrate life😊

    • I'll take two

    • -3

Alcohol doesn't cause cancer, it's a well known fact.

      • +1

Can't work out if you or MuddyClear has had too much to drink🍷

Fact: consumption of alcohol can lead to cancer & other health & social problems.

  • Perfect treat and a great deal for myself with my gift voucher. Got stock at Redbank Plains QLD. Thanks OP!

    • Enjoy! Some stock still in BNE, but mainly on north side or further out. Nearest to me was Hamilton - a long journey from southside - tomorrow.

  • No glass can be added in NSW, only bottle available for $120….

    • I just ordered from Kirrawee.

  • Placed an order for two sets in metro NSW. The store called n left a msg saying they got their inventory wrong and now do not have stock of the whisky.

    Wonder if DM caught on…..

    • Wonder if DM caught on…..

Doubt it - stock systems are often inaccurate. My multiple attempts at orders failed as OOS. DM system still shows stock. Finally was successful - ready to pick up.

  • Nice. I just broke a glencairn and needed another one too.

  • +3

If you are still able to find a store for pick up, I got 2 bottles + 1 glass for $104. Initially when I added a bottle and a glass the price became $104. I accidentally added another bottle through the product page (not cart) and the price remained at $104.

I have just picked up the two bottles and a glass😳

    • Brilliant! Great work 👍

      • It still works - add a bottle without anything, then on the same page, add another bottle with the combo button, then go to your cart, viola!

    • Tried (2 bottles + 1 glass) - didn't work. Wanted $264 at checkout in Brisbane! (Your Profile location)

      • Picked up from springwood

        • Enjoy🍷
My 1 bottle + glass is waiting in Hamilton.

          • @INFIDEL: It still works!

This time I added 1 bottle without add ons, cart shows $120. On the same page, I added 1 bottle plus a Fever Tree Distillers Cola 200mL (which came as an add on), the price got updated to $129. Now I have 2 bottles plus a cola sitting in my cart. Using PC browser.
