Depends where you are going. In asia agoda will regular cycle to have better prices than booking, sometimes even despite a cashback. Its all so dynamic.
True. With Expedia, I bought a room and then went back and saw it decreased by about 15% minutes later. Fortunately I had free cancellation but this dynamic pricing is annoying.
@arcticmonkey: I had the opposite experience, booking.com had a cash back. Prices went up 10% so I decided to avoid. Then a week later Expedia had a cash back and prices stayed the same so decided to book.
If anyone cares, this is how I do my bookings:
1. Connect through a VPN probably for the same area
2. Open the browser in Incognito mode (Never on an app)
3. Jump on my primary browser windows where I have access to the CB sites as well as booking.com account, verify if the prices are same or rather decreased due to a genuine account perk.
4. Hit the Reserve button.
same goes with the flight bookings.@TaurusHead: Thanks. Word of caution though, i've had cashbacks rejected and turned out it was due to being on a VPN. So be careful when you do the clickthrough and purchase.
@laser: That's correct, I disconnect the VPN once I find the desired property to be booked.
Although the problem I faced with booking.com lately is, even though you put a filter for Free Cancellation property, it seems to show all those property which are also not eligible for a Free Cancellation.
depending on the amount you are expecting to be back. if its a largish amount, there is a good chance "something will go wrong" even if you dont do anything wrong.
Amen to this. Only ever have issues with large amounts of cashback. Smaller amounts are never a problem.
Still waiting for my CB to be processed from booking in November last year. Apparent expected approval date is 6 May 2023 (6 months to process lol) but they’ve been pretty quick in the past just not for this particular booking (perhaps due to a large expected cb amount).
Waiting til 6 May with my fingers crossed. It has tracked but feeling nervous for some reason.
Made a few other bookings between then and now - all of which tracked (and processed!) much quicker, although they were for smaller amounts.
Will it track if I choose to pay at the hotel?
I had the same doubt a few months back while booking a hotel with pay at the property option, and it did track seamlessly.
I always find if you click through SB to booking.com the prices just get inflated……
Make sure to login with you booking.com account as a lot of the time members see a price that is 10% lower

You can redeem multiple times mate, the cap is per booking. Just remember to exit Booking.com and click through from ShopBack in between bookings to make sure each one tracks.

Hey mate, yeah 20% total when paying with your eligible linked Westpac card, but the amount will track separately. 15% will track initially and the 5% separately shortly after. Note that you do need to use the "Pay Now" function for the extra 5% Cashback to track also, using the pay upon stay option won't work for that but is fine for use for the base 15% rate.
@gotyourback: Hey GYB, any chance this 15% off promo will happen again within the next couple of weeks? Needed this but it was during work hours :(
@gotyourback: The "Pay Now" option does not seem to appear to booking options that only have Free Cancellation, which basically forces you to pay when you stay. Properties without free cancellation that require the payment immediately are the only ones that let me pay now with my Westpac card. Anything that can be done?
@dcypher: Hey mate, unfortunately I can't make calls on Booking.com's end as to what properties can offer free cancellation, that'll be decided by the venues themselves/Booking.com. We do require the Pay Now function for Westpac Lounge Bonus Cashback as it uses the transaction date and time to track the Bonus amount, but regular Cashback rates are fine to book using the pay-later features. Let me know if you have any other q's/I can pass any feedback on for you!

I got my 15% cashback tracked almost immediately, but did not receive a separate 5% for my purchase with my westpac debit card.
I did pay immediately, transaction shows under my debit card.

Yeah the accommodation I was looking at this morning went up 10%. This is not fair game!
Accomodation stayed the same so I'm happy. I did notice with one certain booking I was making Opera showed certain price $611 a night, and Chrome with Shopback enabled showed $667 a night (the standard price).
Yes they jacked up the prices a little bit but still got a stella deal for London in July. Decided to pay with no cancellation cause I know I'll be leaving from London anyways.
Is there a cap on 15% cashback? The westpac 5% mentions $100 cap, does at apply to shopback's 15% as well?
