Hey everyone! Everyone thought all beta testing ended in March, and we were sure that was it. How wrong we were! Just now, Blizzard announced a Server Slam, which is basically another, and this time surely the final, open beta of Diablo 4, to be held between May 12 and 14, 2023.

Diablo 4 Server Slam content
You might be familiar with the general content if you participated in the Early Access and/or Open Beta Weekends. Most of it remains the same, meaning that players can play through the Prologue and all of Act 1 as a Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue, or Sorcerer. However, the level cap has changed, and players can only level their characters up to level 20. Fighting Ashava, a gigantic demon boss, will prove to be more challenging than before.

Another notable change is the drop rate of Legendary Items. According to Blizzard, it's going to reflect the drop rate that will be featured in the game's launch version.

There are also a huge lot of minor improvements, as the Server Slam will include all of the changes that have been made based on player feedback from previous testing. If you are interested, you can read about them here.

Diablo 4 Server Slam rewards

Even if you did participate in a test before, it might be worth your while to play again. The reason is simple: there is a new earnable reward waiting for players! If you're playing for the first time, you'll be able to earn rewards that have been available on previous Beta Weekends. Here is the complete list of Diablo 4 Beta Rewards, all of which you are going to be granted to you when the game launches:

Initial Casualty Title: earned by reaching Kyovashad with one character.
Early Voyager Title: earned by reaching Level 20 on one character.
Beta Wolf Pack Cosmetic Item: earned by reaching Level 20 on one character.
Cry of Ashava Mount Trophy: earned by defeating Ashava with one Level 20 character.
People who have already earned one of these items don't need to earn them again.

Diablo 4 Server Slam preload
Fortunately, everyone will have a chance to get their files ready before the event begins. The Diablo 4 Beta download start at noon PDT on May 10th.

Be sure to download the Battle.net client beforehand if you are new to the test. In the Diablo IV section of the All Games page of the Launcher, you'll need to change your game version to Server Slam. When the time comes, a blue "Install" button will appear. Pressing it will start your Server Slam Early Download.

      Yeah, just very pesimistic after how Diablo Immortal turned out i guess. This is coming from someone with about 3,000 hours racked up in D3.

        I too have sunk countless hours into D3, D2, and the original, but Diablo Immortal is a huge red flag for the direction this studio could possibly go down with D4, mainly because of how financially successful it was for Blizzard. The standard progression cap / pay-to-win monetisation format that (unfortunately) most mobile games use, is a complete turn off for me when it comes to gaming on my phone. If I'm going to be constrained in reaching my full ability in D4 unless I fork over more of my hard-earned cash on top of the base game I've paid $110 or more for, then sadly this is the start of the end for Diablo for me. Fingers crossed they don't same that mistake, as (until immortal) Diablo has been one of my favourite franchises.

  I'm enjoying this but mentally struggling with the $110 cost of playing at launch. Might just wait a bit — there really are plenty of other great games out there.

    Same here, compared to other recent games like hogwarts legacy I can't justify paying $110 for this game… Will wait for it to go on sale.

  Works well on both PS5 and PC (GTX 1080 at 3840x1600). It somehow has me logged into both so it’s the same character / profile.

  It is way better than I expected, reminds me of Baldur's Gate but online with other players. For some reason I think there needs to be Murlocs for it to be legit though. Need to turn up the gamma too, really dark. Can get repetitive fast too.
