Great device. I use regularly for sous vide, pressure cooking and the occasional air frying.
It's a bit of a heavy device to move around.

Not a big fan of the air frying because of the small surface area of the air frying pot. It'll be good for single or couple, but for family of 4, pretty much useless. Have to use 3/4 times to cook anything for the entire family.
Bought about 2 years ago for full price, so this price is a bargain.

    • This could replace a few appliances. How do you find it for various applications? Also is cleaning easy?

      • +1

Cleaning is very easy; the pot and fryer basket go in the dishwasher

but for family of 4, pretty much useless. Have to use 3/4 times to cook anything for the entire family.

Isn't the whole advantage of an air-fryer that it's small. If you are doing enough for an entire family of 4, then really you should be using an oven.

      • -1

No the point is to get food that tastes fried without using oil. Most air fryers I have used are huge beasts, and you’d definitely want to be able to do a whole batch of chicken or chips for a family of 4 in one go.

        • +7

They are literally tiny ovens and replicate the functionality of a fan forced oven but smaller and quicker.

        • +2

No the point is to get food that tastes fried without using oil.

You know, they have a name for that, it's called baking… They're literally just a tiny fan forced oven.

Saw this as a promotion on the listing as well! Not sure if targeted

I live alone and cook mostly for one or two.

I have Breville slow cooker, Breville slow/pressure cooker and a small instant pot air fryer. I tossed the crappy rice cooker I had a while ago
Would this one appliance replace all those. Kitchen space is at a premium.

    • +2

In short, yes it will. I've bought it to replace the Breville slow cooker and my partner's air fryer, it will also do your rice amongst other things

      • +4

obvious but important note tho, it can NOT do all of the above at the same time.

    • i do all of the above. It cooks rice in 6 minutes perfectly on pressure cooker mode. However i have a 8L and that was barely enough space for airfryer mode

    • Yes. Pressure cooker is a winner for me. Pot goes into the dishwasher and you can buy spare pots too.

      • Not anything electrical though. Not the base or the air fryer lid. Obvious but ya never know.

    • +1

Just be aware this comes with two lids. The normal lid and the air fryer lid. You will need room for the unit and the air fryer lid.

    • Check out Ninja OL650 or OL750 (with temperature probe) does everything under one lid. 7.5L enough to fit the whole chicken.

  • Damn wish there was a cashback deal

  • +1

Dang, waiting for a deal on the 8L

I got the “Crock-Pot Express Crock Multi-Cooker | Slow Cooker, Saute, Pressure Cooker, Rice Cooker and Food Steamer | 5.7L (4-6 People) | Removable Non-Stick Bowl | CPE200 Stainless Steel https://amzn.asia/d/6V1ZqCJ

No air fryer but much cheaper I felt

Just had a look. I think the $99 version does not have pressure cooker. Its $163 for the pressure version - so same price. Maybe prices changed over night.

      • +1

so the 'pressure cook' button on the $99 version is just for looks?

        • +1

Neg well deserved - now I see the button.

  • If you are getting the crisp version I would recommend getting the 8L.

  • Those looking for an 8L, Instant Pot Duo Nova is 37% off, $188.00 with free Prime shipping

  • This is a great device, have been using it for more than a year and can’t be happier. Highly recommended at this price.

  • For those who want uber-premium, go for Ninja OL650 ($449) - main diff here is no separate lid needed for air-frying and can therefore combo do things such as steam air fry etc.

    • You can get an all in one with IP too
      https://instantbrands.com.au/products/instant-pot-duo-crisp-…

I used to have the Breville Fast/Slow Pro and found the always attached lid a bit cumbersome. We now have the IP Pro Crisper. If you have the space I think the separate lid is better.

      • Hey there, would really appreciate your input on the following if you have the time!

I've owned a Breville Fast/Slow Pro for a number of years now, I'm thinking of upgrading to the IP Pro Crisp. I'm on the fence because of the following:

        1. Does the IP Pro Crisp get up to pressure noticeably faster than the Breville?
        2. Do you find the 8L version of the IP Pro Crisp is more than what you need? I realised the Breville's capacity is only 6L, making it closer to the 5.7L IP models
        3. Why did you opt for the Pro version of the Crisp instead of the standard version?
        • +2
          1. It has been a while since I used the Breville Fast/Slow but the IP Pro is certainly quicker to come up to speed than the IP Duo Nova. I don’t think that the IP Pro will be a big problem for you.
          2. The only issue with the 8L is finding somewhere to store the unit and the Crisper Lid. Our central “island” is an old workbench with a shelf underneath so we are OK. We only cook for the two of us and don’t find it “too big”. It also means you can put a reasonable size ceramic pot on the trivet to do pot in pot. The size is certainly an advantage when doing batches like soup or a big piece of meat like corned beef. Even the 8L crisper is not huge and I think if you went the 5.7L crisper size it wouldn’t be practical.
          3. We have the Duo Nova 5.7L and I missed the knob control, and start button, of the Breville Fast/Slow Pro. Also the pot on the Pro has little ears so when you are stirring something the pot doesn’t turn as well. It is also faster to get up to pressure. Costco had the standard 8L, with Crisper, for $150 recently. If I hadn’t already bought the Pro I might’ve thought twice.

Hope that helps. If you do some Googling you might get someone who is a bit more scientific than me with the comparison.

  • These were cheaper, but still seem good value at this price. I bought the 5.7L then a couple of weeks later bought the 8L version and returned the smaller one. Your call whether you hold for better prices like these were.

It seems really good. Mine's on its maiden sous vide voyage today. We have a large family, and I supplement this with an oven-style air fryer from Kmart.

Not really in the spirit of OzBargain, but I bought this one on ebay.
Twice the price with delivery, only 7 functions instead of 11 and also smaller, but I don't care, its way cooler!!

  • is steaming function compareable to breville steamer https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08HH8HT4N?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_… ?
