Saw this price on Amazon, thought this is a good price for three games combined together. Please clearly note that this is for Xbox One/Xbox Series X. Now this is the remastered Definitive Edition of the Trilogy which we all know is perhaps not the best remastered version of a game ever released, but with the original trilogy truly showing it's age, this is in my humble opinion the best way to enjoy the classic games on modern gen console, specially for some one who have never played it. The game as it stands now after few update patches, is far more better then the release version, but hey your money, your choice.

  • Was $34, is this digital edition? I'm torn if I should buy. I finished SA when it was free on xbox gamepass, and got half way though vice city on PS+.

  • Decided to pull the trigger (bad pun intended). Can't wait to play Vice City again. Of the three, San Andreas is probably the best, but i replayed it so damn much as a teen, i can't wait to get into vice city again.

Vice city has the best sound track and.. a katana.
I don’t think I’ve played it since PS2, or maybe when it was ported to iPad.

      • I felt San andreas' K-rose was the best. Really got me hooked on country music for a while.

This edition is missing from Vice City:

"Bark At The Moon" by Ozzy Osbourne
        "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson
        "Cars" by Gary Numan
"Cum On Feel The Noize" by Quiet Riot
        "Japanese Boy" by Aneka
"Looking For The Perfect Beat" by Afrika Bambaataa & The Soulsonic Force
"Love Missile F1-11" by Sigue Sigue Sputnik
"One Thing Leads To Another" by The Fixx
        "Poison Arrow" by ABC
        "Rockit" by Herbie Hancock
"Running With The Night" by Lionel Richie
        "Steppin' Out" by Joe Jackson
"Video Killed The Radio Star" by The Buggles
"Wanna Be Starting Something" by Michael Jackson
        "Wow" by Kate Bush

And the other two games are also missing dozens of songs. You really are better off emulating the PS2 versions. Vice City without Billie Jean is just stupid.

I wonder what dictionary they pulled the word "Definitive" from? I cannot even fathom playing Vice City without hearing half of those songs.

        • +1

Hmm this kind of makes me want to cancel my order tbh.

        • +1

Oh man… I remember the demolition derby side game in the arena and you go in there and Cars is playing. I couldn’t deal with it not playing. So many memories.

        • +1

So many classics in that list… Better off just emulating the PS2 release and getting a more complete experience.

Just emulate the original PS2 versions on Xbox or Steam deck for the authenticity. I played SA on gamepass nd didn't like it except the new checkpoint system.

    • +1

Unless you have Dev mode you can no longer use most of the emulators.

PC works well enough with silent patch I've found or getting an actual PS2 with a CRT if one has the space.

Not the same but still a cool fact, some of the missions (not many) in San Andreas had checkpoints. Most notable is End of the Line.

    has this been fixed yet?

    • San Andreas is perfectly playable on XSX. Fidelity mode frame rate seems too low but it's fine in performance and I can't tell the difference.

      • Fidelity mode was atrocious frame rate wise.

  • Great price for okay ports. I just finished Vice City and it was janky, buggy, and difficult but it's still vice city at the end of the day. I have it on ps5 and it ran great for most of my experience. Absolute rubbish on the switch though.

I got this a while ago and finished GTA III which gets the most out of the remaster as III is in my opinion the worst of the 3 (only because its R* first go, not because its inherently bad).

The updated controls and graphics certainly make it worth a buy if you're on the fence.

    • Does it still have top-down view?
