Heads up, the last of us promotion for AMD 6000 cards has been extended. But I don't think it's available on Amazon…

So, getting a local MSI/ASUS/Gigabyte 6700XT/6750XT for a similar price, with the game might be more enticing to some.

the best value is non-xt 6700 at $439, now with the game again..

    • -1

6700 non xt too slow and only 10GB.

Unless ofc you just want reasonable 1080p/medium and low refresh rate gaming, then sure it's a nice bang for bucker.

But the xt smashes 1080p and lands you into 1440p territory.

      • +4

6700 non xt is more than fine for 1440p, it's just a bit slower than xt, difference is negligible. also it overclocks well. also has lower PSU requirements, so is suitable for more folks out there.

        • -4

Agree it's suitable for most "folks" , might pick one up for my folks ;)

But def not more than fine for 1440p, it will severely dip below 60FPS, making it very borderline 1440p, hardly more than fine.

@Grish: hmmm in some of the games I play it pumps out 240+ fps no issue, hmmmm how can this be hmmmmm

          • +6

@Grish: I'm getting ultra setting vibes from this comment. Never go full ultra.

            • @TsundereGuy: 6700xt isn't the king of 1440p either, it's just slightly better than non-xt. for a solid bump up in performance pick up 6800 non-xt, used can be had for $500 and is a smooth 1440p destroyer and adequate 4k. but then again if the PSU is right and the CPU you have can feed it without dropping so there are much more "ifs" present. 6700 is awesome bang for buck especially if you got PCIe 3, since it's 16 lanes and a big jump up from 6600/xt/6650 as those are 4 lanes. so all in all 6700 non-xt at $439 is just best value for money overall.

              • @shabaka: Yeah 6700xt is only like 12% faster than the 6600xt. It's memory bus isn't exactly great either (192 bit).

It was a 1440p card 2 years ago it's bit weird people are still relaying that advice now. I'd assume the 7600xt will be marketed as 1080p and the similar speed as 6700xt.

10GB is absolutely fine for 1440p.

      • +1

        For someone deciding, 1440p GPU
        https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html
        6700xt 74.3 fps
        6700 63.5 fps
        6700xt 17% faster

        https://www.techpowerup.com/review/pny-geforce-rtx-4070-xlr8…
        6700xt 90.9 fps
        6700 ??
        6600xt 70fps

Will 10Gb or 12Gb VRAM enough for 1440p ultra (RT off)? Should be enough atm, who knows few years later. 6700xt is better and faster, but it is quite more expensive as well. I think 6700 is fine for 1440p, just may not max 1440p for a few games to maintain 60fps.

No news on RX 7700 and RX 7800

People won’t buy this, they got more than enough cash for far better cards like the 4090

Remember the average Australian earns $95,000 a year

    • what's the median earning?

  • +1

Man i bought this card for $1000 during the pandemic…

    • +1

It's best not to think about it. I bought a 3070 for around $1300 and I feel it saved me from going crazy when I had some downtime.

    • WHAT

not sure if trolling or real….
