OP Notes

a. Make sure to collect the coupon by ticking the "Apply coupon" box before checkout. Alternatively, you can add the product to cart and tick the "Apply coupon" box there. If you DO NOT see the coupon box, the coupon allocation has been fully redeemed. There is no actual code to enter at checkout – you must collect the coupon before checkout.

b. Coupon is SINGLE use. One per account only

c. DO NOT UNSELECT PROMOTIONAL CREDIT AT CHECKOUT. Make sure you leave the "Use your $xx Promotional credit" box ticked at checkout. Amazon considers all Coupon discounts and Prime Exclusive deal discounts as "promotional credit". Therefore, unselecting promotional credit as part of your payment method will cause Amazon to remove any Coupon or Prime Exclusive discounts and thus charge you full price. If the you have Amazon-issued promotional credit in your account and the item you are buying is:

  • (1) Sold and shipped by Amazon, then Amazon will first subtract any relevant coupon or Prime Exclusive discounts, then charge the remaining balance with your Amazon promotional credit. You must pay with the promotional credit you have in your account, otherwise unselecting this will reverse any applied discounts as per above. Here's an example screenshot, where you see the coupon discount is applied (i.e. Your Coupon Saving), as well as the Subscribe & Save discount, and the remaining balance payment is taken out of your Amazon-issued promotional credit (i.e. Courtesy Credit) to complete the order (in this case the Order Total comes up as $0.00 - unless this deal post says free otherwise, it doesn't mean your order is free as you are still using promo credit, something treated as cash). If you do not have enough Amazon-issued promotional credit, then the Order Total will be the remaining balance that you must pay with a Gift Card or Debit/Credit Card.

  • (2) Sold by a Third Party Seller on Amazon, then Amazon will first subtract any relevant coupon or Prime Exclusive discounts (i.e. Promotion(s) Applied under Order Summary // or check below and see Your Coupon Saving), then you must pay the remaining balance with a Gift Card or Debit/Credit Card. Here's an example screenshot where despite me having Amazon-issued promotional credit, Amazon is unable to apply that to the order because Amazon is unable to apply Amazon-issued promotional credit to orders sold by a Third Party Seller. This means that even if you kept the "Use your $xx Promotional credit" box ticked at checkout, the sole purpose is to obtain the discount while your Amazon-issued promotional credit will remain the same as Amazon will not be using this credit to pay for the order.

Coupon expires soon unless exhausted or sold out earlier

No reviews.. im a little sceptical. Could it be a scam?

    • +1

Definitely not a scam, delivered by Amazon

      • +1

Well it kind of is if it doesn't actually work. Might be handy for a light though.

        • +1

Then you return for a full refund? I fail to see how that would be a scam?

  • +1

    Very handy, thanks OP.

    Reviews appear mixed:

Not a single mosquitos gets killed or go away with it. Such a waste of time and money for a torch light 1/5 Stars

Arrived on time and as described 5/5 Stars

No problems as described 5/5 Stars

This did not work as described, it didn't catch a single mosquito despite them being everywhere. I'd like a refund please. 1/5 Stars

    • Guess its worth the risk for the price

    • +9

Mosquitoes are attracted to CO2, not light. None of these work for anything except killing birds food supply (moths).

Awesome deal Guke, 170 available in stock at time of posting

        I retried and succeeded.

Review on Amazon: Waste of money!
    https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/aw/review/B0BMF9PPFL/RSNHOGT06W…

Different product but I think I will cancel my order lol

    • When I click that and hit the product link it goes to a different zapper

    • Are they the same product? What are they powering with?

      • Same manufacturer.. different product as I said before..

        Don't think it's effective

  • +6

Mosquitos are not attracted to light…

    • -1

No but from experience these things kill heaps of other bugs

      • +1

Why would you want to kill other bugs?

        • +3

          I'm a software engineer

    • +1

Put a bowl of soapy water underneath. Will work

    • i used another product which was similar to use light for killing mosquitos but it actually killed many mosquitos over night, now whether they mosquito got attracted to light or they happen to fly near the product which end-up killing them is something scientist can work on but i would have bought it if it was in stock at this price… !

  • Thanks OP bought one :-)

  • -3

It's a no brainer buy got 2 on different acs .

    • Unlimited redemptions per account, so no need to swap accs :)

      • Hmmmmm , House is clogged enough :(

  • +4

bargain, except these things only kill useful bugs, not mosquitoes.

  • +2

I'm skeptical any of these really work. We used to have one ages ago. I remember reading a review that said that most of the bugs that were killed weren't actually mosquitoes. That was our experience too.

  • +1

Ozbargained. No doubt loads of "didn't need but got one anyway to block people who actually needed one"

    • Isn't it more of it going to fall in 5 sec . Get it b4 that point lol .

  • How often does AMazon give out these $20 coupons? Seems it can be used for any item

    • +1

Sellers create these coupons, not Amazon. I. this case, possible seller mistake

  • Finished :(

  • Reviews aren't good.

    • +1

It's nice to know someone is concerned :)

  • Can't buy now.

  • +2

These things do not work. Mosquitos are attracted to body heat and scent.

Think about it - when have you ever seen an outdoor light, with loads of mossies flying around it??? That's right - you haven't.

    • What about flies ?

      • +1

What do flies have to do with anything?

This post is titled "mosquito zapper".

    • Didn't you know insects fly to light . The smart ass spiders build their webs around your house where they are .

      • This post is not advertising an "insect zapper"

      • +1

Not mosquitos though. They avoid light.

  • +4

Mozzies are attracted to CO2, not light. This will just attract and kill moths and beetles.

    • -2

Why do I get a bunch of mozzies in the house at night if I leave the door open and lights on, but none if my house is dark?

      • +3

Your mozzies must be special. Ours always find us whether it's dark or not.

  • +3

I got a similar one never attracted one bug

    • +1

Same. You need a corded powered one. The battery ones are useless

  • I would luv to post the 4 magpies that just after dark stand on the street light down the road and munch on insects. .
    Evolution lol .

  • Whether this one is effective I can't say but I can tell you bug zappers do kill mossies.

  • +3

Yes let's open the windows and doors and use this product,. So stupid, just don't open anything when there is no need, then wouldn't have this problem in first place.

    • +2

Lol do you live in a box? None of the pictures suggest you use it inside…..
It's not uncommon for people to have a backyard or go camping.

  • +3

These are trash. Attract a few bugs sometimes but never mozzies.

  • One came back online, managed to get one

  • +1

Attracts all sorts of bugs but never mosquitos… False advertising
    Better off getting mosquito coil

  • -4

Grabbed 3 using 3 different accounts. Thanks OP!

  • Grabbed 1. Stll 2 units available. Hope they honor the purchase.

    • +1

Besides the fact these don't work (so actually a waste of money), Amazon will honour the sale.

      • +2

I have one of these units. They do work depending on circumstances. The light and mild heat may be enough to be a mild attractant. But I suspect in my case all the gnats that landed on it got cooked, produced CO2 and attracted mosquitos.
I put it in the kitchen to catch the mozzies the kids let in. I regularly find a few gnats and a new mozzie dead.

      • for less than 2 bucks - i think its okay. Will use and give a review.

      • so just got an email that item is cancelled as not available in stock. Guess saved 1.99!

  • Still in stock (3) - bought one, thanks OP!

  • Received today. Packaging has Type-C Charging, but product and cable is micro-usb…

    • Just came to make same comment

      • Are you sure yours is USB-C? I received mine and it's micro-usb port.

        • that's what they meant I believe. It says USBC on the box, but it's Micro-usb

          • @cheapass88: ah yes, the box does stated usbc :)

For $2 I wish I had bought another one. The light lamp is actually quite decent.

  • +1

Got mine yesterday, charged it up, turn on bug zapping mode and left it outside and totally forgot about it until just then.
about 20 dead bugs on it so it does work! Anyone know how long it takes to charge and the runtime? it's not bad!

    • +1

      Lunch sorted for the family

    • Mozzies or other bugs?

      • Mozzies, bugs, and other flying insects, including 1 moth.

Not sure on the cleaning process, but I used a workshop blower to get rid of them all
