$15/Month Mobile Data Plan with 20GB 4G/5G Data at 100Mbps (Then Unlimited Data at 1Mbps) @ Belong

1810

Credit to this comment if you want telstra 5G network.

Having tried optus capped speed at 1Mbps and been able to watch netflix/Stan etc without any issues for 1 person, this is a good deal for 1 person to use (i.e. student, grandma, etc) if you are on a tight budget and cant afford to pay for Nbn etc.

    • Shamelessly use another phone as a 5G hotspot lol. Much better than NBN.

    • Thanks all !

  • Tbh if you don’t need exactly 20gb you are better off with catch connect. $15 for 18gb and unlimited calls/sms.

  • I had a telstra 5gb a month data plan for $15 a month for a couple of years. My monthly bill suddenly was $25 a months with a bit more data. I never received anything saying it was going up in price so i just cancelled it. I used it for netflix and telstras was 1.5Mbps after using the 5gb. Will give this a shot.

    • I don’t know if you’ll need more data and Vodafone has good signal. But they have a plan same as your old Telstra $15 a month.

      • Vodafone and optus are not good in my area.

        • This is a great option for you then.

Only need a dual sim phone and another sim for your calls and texts on a 365 PAYG sim = perfect setup.

Heck, you'd even have some amount of data redundancy on your voice sim.

I'm tempted to do exactly this on my ZenFone 9.

Picked up 2, 1 for my EFB and 1 for my Portable Modem.

    Cheers OP!

This might be good as a backup SIM for NBN. Least it won’t burn through a whole year of data like it would on Boost 12 month plans. And $15/month is cheaper than Telstra NBN’s $20/month premium

Backup plan should be just a short term starter pack that cost less than $10. VF $30 SP 28 days 40GB unlimited data capped @ 1.5Mbps. Nothing stops you from opening one for every 28 days for permanent use.

Currently Belong mobile user. From my experience, Belong mobile used more data compared to others service provider. Belong apps don't have the option to break down daily data usage as well.

some supplier measures upload + download as your usage, some only does download. Not sure if belong is the former…

    but it's only carbon neutral
I want carbon negative plans :D

    • I'll sell a plan where I eat a high-sulfur diet.

  • Anyone know if you can receive calls on this sim? 10 years ago with Telstra data sims you could.

    • I had a Telstra data SIM until a month ago, they said a couple years ago that they would stop calls & SMS recieving but they never stopped it.

I can't speak for Belong, but as a Telstra company, I'm running on the assumption that it also works.

I'm fairly sure that it can't be stopped easily, it's like a normal active SIM with a phone number.

  • Anyone after data instead of this I'm happy to transfer

    • Yes pls
