          • +2

@Eggnogsparklebutt3rd: So it was $400/coin? Not in the last 5yrs.

            Picks up mic

Of course it's not worth anything.

              @M00Cow:

              it's not worth anything.

If it's not worth anything, then send some my way.

            • +1

@M00Cow: you're right. My bad. Was only 4345% growth.

Def nothing compared to your 25% loss in the last year lol

Just for reference - TESLA is down 50% from last year…..

              drops mic again

          • @Eggnogsparklebutt3rd: yes.. its amazing how people only focus on a short period of time for crypto. especially when they want to use their confirmation biases to convince others it isnt doing well.

  • I reckon the Whale pass with unlimited drinks is a bargain and upvoted .
Oops premium is about 7 times cheaper and also has the open bar :)

    • -3

I went last year to the VIP and it was epic! Going again this year! i also went to GA party. Which was beer and wine. VIP had unlimited cocktails etc. Had like $300 glasses of scotch lol. Was lit!

Crypto haters in this thread have literally no idea lol

      • Did you personally pay $2k-ish for VIP ?

  • -3

    See you there!

  • +22

Oh I would suggest this is definitely missable.

  • +16

Hear from leading international speakers, including …..NAB Bank, Australian Parliament

Crypto bro's sovereign citizens now :)

Hoping to hear Charles Ponzi's take on the current crypto sales figures.

  • +16

I don't get it. Shouldn't I get pay for my time to attend this sales event?

    • Free version usually held by super nice ppl in apps like Whatsapp.

Spamming your own post with "Event Highlights" is a terrible 'intern-like' marketing strategy. Just, no.

        • "Highlights" like them opening the convention, ping pong, and a claw machine.

Why get access to those free elsewhere when you can lose $175.12 to see them here! Good warm up for buying crypto I guess…

  • +10

Lol, pay for the opportunity to grift more people. Let's pretend FTX, Terra, Bitconnect, OneCoin didn't happen

      • +5

Video has been up for 5 months and has 944 views. And one of them was me. Absolutely killing it. 😀

Special guests AUSTRAC and the ATO will be on hand to monitor all participants

  • +8

Very difficult to navigate website. Shifty link and the sponsors, when click, don't go anywhere. The overall site in terms of contact and information about the event is missing. I'm bombarded with an email subscription form every time I click on a new page.

    • -6

Thanks mate. Web links for sponsors will be added shortly. More details for this year’s content coming soon! In the meantime here is last year’s event - https://youtu.be/mVRTGo1Qm9s

      • +4

Did you ever consider making sure your website was actually working before spamming your own post with stupid Event Highlight links? I mean, it's not until November of this year! What a way to make a first impression.

Clearly the intern goblins are in charge.

  • +10

    $273.90 ~> $219.12 ~> $175.20

    HODL?

    • -4

These are early bird prices. There will be an increase :)

Last year’s highlights here for you - https://youtu.be/mVRTGo1Qm9s

      • +9

You don't need to paste the same link over and over. Watched it, nothing that sells the event. Just standard convention B-roll.

        • Exactly.

          • @HamBoi69: Lots of Stripper/Nightclub/Celebration vibe. "Lots of beers down the back", sure food and other enticements: but anything of substance? "Whale ticket" option only $2199 such value: extras:

Access to the Premium After Party (open bar)

            PLUS

            Exclusive networking opportunities

Closed events - Whale Only Networking!

Gourmet catering (lunch provided both days)

Access to the Whale Only After Party (open bar)

Access to the VIP Lounge (alcohol, tea/coffee and refreshments provided)

I am not opposed to a low fee competition to Banks etc., just they be properly regulated and controlled.

“what we are actually building is a virtual reality gaming experience.”

….. The possibilities with crypto are endless!!!

  • +19

Final "Payment Details" screen only shows VISA/MC/AMEX payment option, where's the crypto option?

    • +9

LOL, they never want to accept their own funbucks, they want cold, hard, real cash!

      • +12

OP just did a stealth edit and removed "(Pay in AUD or Crypto)" from the title

Poor website, no confirmed speaker list and aggressive marketing 6+ months out before the event

OP could have prepared everything properly and listed a proper deal in May

Now the whole thing looks rather unprofessional

        • +7

Covertly removing the Crypto payment option, for a Conference on Crypto, is very dodgy.

      • Says it all, really.

  • Perfect for every "chain" gang?

    • -1

      Boooooo

  • +5

Hear from leading international speakers, including Tron Foundation, Cardano, NAB Bank, Australian Parliament, VeChain, 1inch, and more!

    This makes no sense.

    • +1

Shhhhhh . Everyone knows in this field knows if you make it look legitimate and catch some institutions, we are all headed to the moon .
BTC spike was driven by them .

      • +1

Looking at the quality of the crowd at the '22 convention all I see is a bunch of get rich quick wannabee's getting scammed.

    • +2

Obviously, the entire Australian Parliament is going to come and speak. Duh.

    • Sounds scammy even if legit.

  • +1

So the pass was $219, then $175, then $65, then $13,000, then $2…… ok then

    • +2

      $219? That's a lot of bitcoin! $175? That's a lot of bitcoin! $65? That's a lot of bitcoin! $13000? That's a lot of bitcoin! $2? That's a lot of bitcoin!

But wait a second.. I can only pay for this in fiat? Worthless, prehistoric fiat currency? Isn't that for losers and those people I told to have fun being poor? Surely there must be some mistake here, this damn website won't even let me pay with that ape I used multiple slurp juices on.

    • +1

Pricing designed to be familiar with the crypto crowd ;)

  • +4

Looking forward to the merch table, hear Bunnings Garden section have provided a lot of bulbs, specially imported from the Netherlands.

  • I found it exciting if you have an idea you can pitch it shark tank style to the 100+ venture capitalists .
It's time to make some dough hehe .

  • +4

Which new coins are you guys trying to pump?

  • +1

    Just signed up

    Reason: FOMO

  • +1

Free copium in the swag bag too!

  • +5

Can't even pay with crypto no deal

  • +3

Let's use electricity to create an unregulated currency, then regulate the hell out of it and call it an investment rather than a waste of resources.

That way we can all be rich. Seems legit.

  • +8

Requires people to pay with fiat. The irony.

  • +1

Cryptobros unite! Maybe we can take the opportunity to get rid of them all in one fell swoop…

    In minecraft.

  • You have ignored our hint from last year and spammed our tagging system again, so this is now a formal warning. Spam our tags again and your account and your convention will be banned on OzBargain.

    • +1

but you gotta hit the SEO HARD!

  • Diamond hands?

  • Goverment will be there to basically try and sell their own coin… and ban the bitcoin

  • Will I become rich if I attend?

  • +3

    Scam artist convention

  • +3

Cryptobro convention… so much toxic masculinity concentrated in once place, and you get the privilege of paying to be there too!

  • +2

I have enjoyed the comments. Thank you haha.

  • People in crypto seen dejitaru tsuka?

  • +5

Cypto always reminds me of this Simpsons highlight

    https://youtu.be/uuVh36vQkSI

Next week they'll be popping up with tickets to a Timeshare seminar.

  • will I be able to sell my JPEGS here?

  • What, no Logan bros (Jake & Logan), Floyd Mayweather Jr., Tony Robbins, Coffeezilla at least?

    • Tate bros were book, inexplicably delayed OS.

  • We are hanging on . 11 positives vs 11 negs .
    Cmon let go .

    • Yeah, the crypto hate is strong in this community.

    • 12 negs now. Time to let go.

  • Removed the ability to pay in crypto.. hilarious.
What if i wanted to bring along me and 18 friends on VIP Whale passes, its only 1 BTC worth :)

General rule of a VIP section, if you have to pay $2k to be there, then you probably arent in the 'I' group…

    • Crypto payments are there on the website. You have to email them. Id say because its a manual process. Which makes sense

      • +3

Crypto, high tech future payment possibilities…..can only be processed manually.

Plenty of places seem to be able to handle automated crypto payment platforms, if your their site can't handle it, I think people might want to wait for a crypto conference that's run by actual high tech crypto people/engineers.

Would you be worried about an Amex conference if they only accepted MasterCard?

      • Sure it makes sense. The way of the future. All digital. Fiat is for losers.

        Makes a lot of sense.

  • -2

You guys literally have no idea what you're on about. I went to last year's event, and it was great! They had everyone from top crypto projects, NFT projects, security auditors, exchanges etc etc. And to their credit, they did have banks and gov there which does add legitimacy to the event. There was thousands of people there and on both days. Was a great weekend and keen af for this next one

      • Seems legit.

@auscryptoconventionm or Matthew Ede - we know it's you 🤣

    • +2

      security auditors

      Like who?

they did have banks and gov

      Who?

If it was free or under $50, sure, but it's discounted to $175. Crypto is a classic asset bubble. They're charging so much to mislead people.
