  • +7

better off going through samsung $350 trade-in discount + any other codes you can find to stack

    • +3

$50 newsletter subscription and 10% loyalty voucher will stack.

Link for instant $50 newsletter code:

      https://shop.samsung.com/au/sign-up

      • 10% loyalty voucher? You mean the $100 voucher?

        • +1

$100 voucher - can confirm I have a total of $1,168.40 for the grey green 512gb Fold 4 (incl trade in bonus)

          • @Loyalwings: What is trade in credit vs trade in bonus?

            • @mimik13: $1 galaxy buds to trade in - gives $350 bonus credit to get the phone. May have to pay extra $60 fee for not sending it in iirc.

              • @Loyalwings: So if I trade my s21, I'm getting $260 trade in credit. Do I get an additional $350 bonus on top of the $260?

            • @mimik13: Trade in credit is the value of your old phone whereas trad in bonus is given on top of that

        • +1

No. Email on [email protected] with model and imei number of you old Samsung phone and tell them you are upgrading. Include your phone number. You will get a call and will then be sent a 10% loyalty voucher code.

        • 15% if not trading in

          • @furyou: Can confirm this also got the 15% and 10% for the watch

      • I tried doing that, didn't work ;(

    • On the Samsung website;
"Galaxy Z Fold4 requires special production. Please allow 3-4 weeks for delivery".

    • Which is set to expire today.

      • What would expire today?

        • +1

          The Trade-In offer. According to the website;

"Try trading in your eligible smartphone to save instantly on your new Galaxy Z Fold4.
Instantly save $350 with trade-in for a limited time². Offer ends 27.04.2023."

          • +1

@mimik13: eligible smartphones are generally worth more than the 350?

            • +2

@furyou: Its a bonus $350 on top of the normal trade in value.

              • @xpliset: ooh that would be a good deal, but so scared of direct Samsung warranty from stories on this post..

    • Which model phones can trade in? Can old iPhone SE trade in ?

    • +1

Ordered the phone on 27th with trade in. Samsung cancelled my order next morning saying none in stock. Now you can't even buy from the website.

      • Which colour?

        • +1

          the custom color one, burgundy.

  • +2

Why do they call it a Z Fold? It would need a third panel for that. It's really an L Fold

    • +1

I'd say more a V fold given the matching lengths

      • I'd call it the Regretful Fold considering how long you will be talking to Samsung about getting your broken folding phone repaired. Have owned 2x Fold 3's, Samsung's design just ain't it.

        • Amazon been the seller, I don't see any issues with warranty

          • @Scrooge McDeal: That's an interesting point. Once it breaks, can you just claim warranty through Amazon and they'll just refund you your money carte blanche?

          • @Scrooge McDeal: even then, being w/o a phone, wiping your data/settings?

  • +8

    Best phone I've ever owned.

    • +1

I can attest to this… it really is the best phone I have ever owned.

Just so good having a phone and a tablet in the pocket.

      • Seriously, the foldable screen is making my wife consider switching to Android. Once you buy a stand and/or pen, it's amazing to use.

        • What do you use pen for? It seems to add a lot of bulk

    • hows the battery life on it? the smaller battery kind of makes me hesitant over a standard candybar s23 ultra

      • +1

Not as bad as reported in reviews. I've only had mine for a month though.

      • +1

Yes battery life is a thing that I think the foldable makers will have to keep improving

For my Z Fold 4, I have to follow every instruction in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhWhDKSPuG4&ab_channel=RADER…. It's got pretty useful tips!

So far, the phone can last for 1 to 1.5 days if I just use it for general calls, text, check and reply work emails, music, play a few videos etc.

      • +2

My Fold3 has gotten bad. Bought November 2021, standby consumption seems to have skyrocketed recently.

My next phone will still be a Fold though.

  • +2

These Fold phones are brilliant! I’m an Apple fan myself but if I changed I’d definitely be purchasing a Samsung Fold.

  • How does the camera on these compare to the latest iPhone?

    • +2

The iPhone 14 pro has a waaaaaaay better camera. The camera in these Folds dont even match that of the S22 or S23 Ultra.

      • +1

        Thanks a lot!

    • Agree with gviddy.

My thoughts on some common options:

      • iPhone - always very good.
      • Pixel - best android camera, possibly best camera on any smart phone.
      • Galaxy S2x Ultra - very good, most likely marginally behind pixel and iPhone though.
      • Fold - behind the S2x line up (Samsung just doesn't prioritise the camera on the foldables I guess). This is the phone I use and the camera is very good - I think it's easily good enough in tandem with the foldable screen to make it my phone of choice, but definitely doesn't match up to the others camera wise.
      • I give iPhones an edge in the camera department as not only are they great at taking pictures but nothing comes close to the video of the iPhone.

  • Does anyone know what happens with the trade in if you don't send your traded phone in and do you get $350 for any phone

    • This has been answered a thousand times in various deals/posts.
You don’t lose the bonus. They just charge the trade in value of your phone and in some cases the $60 admin fee as well.

  • +1

Tell me really, why do you need 512gb? What do you put on it?
I have the S21, and I've used 70gb. Most is system+apps. I just cannot imagine what I'd want on a phone.

    • +4

      Roms/emulators

    • +1

      Videos

      • a movie is like 2gb?, that's a lot of video!
I duno tho, I usually delete stuff once watched

        • There are videos that one like to keep for later viewing 😂

    • +1

      Videos, audio books, etc.
It's very easy to fill up android storage, iPhone however..

  • just pulled the plug and got one. 1100 for zfold is not bad at all (no trade-in). Hope it doesn't break.

    • how to get 1100 without trade in bonus

    • You will have to pay a $60 no trade in fee.

      • Samsung are such greedy folk.

      • Dont they still chsrge you for the bonus as well?

    • Pulled the plug is not the correct idiom to use in this situation.

      • Trigger, perhaps

    • Well on trade in deal, Its potentially 883$ delivered and you keep the existing phone that you wish to trade in

  • 1100 and no trade how fid you manage that?

  • +1

$684 can't complain with that, traded in S21 Ultra ($315 + bonus 350), Newsletter voucher ($50), Loyalty voucher via chat ($100).

    • Nice, my newsletter voucher would not stack unfortunately.

    • at 700 bucks FTW

      • Yeah been wanting a Fold for a while and at $700ish no brainer for me haha.

    • +1

Don't send the S21U in and sell it on FB. I got $600 for mine last week

      • I thought I'd have to pay back the $350 bonus trade in but reading comments seems like that's not the case. I'll def flip the phone on eBay / FB for an extra $200-300, thanks :)

    • How are you getting those voucher to stack, mine wont even with Trade bonus and loyalty voucher?

      • I just input the codes, I didn't do anything special. No idea why it's not working for you.

        • Bit late to reply but I realized I asked them for a 20% off voucher which did not stack. But when I asked for a Trade-in voucher which gets you 15% it worked and was able to stack got fold4 with it.

  • Sorry, my maths was bad! it's 1150 with no trade-in. Just dont sent the device.

    • There is a $60 fee if you don't trade in.

      • you are correct. that too. still 1200 for a Zfold4 phone aint bad.

        • I'd hodl. New fold in 4 months. Can only get cheaper.

          • @Wizard: possibly? but with a small tradein folk are getting 6-800$. I dont think it will get cheaper than that, they will run them out of stock first.

            • @fadzsolz: JB Hi-Fi, Amazon, Samsung and HN all have stock. I think they will last for a while.

              • +1

@Wizard: not at these prices. they will go back to the original or just take them off the market.
                Great Deal for trade-in IMO.
                Happy samsunging

    • Plus another few weeks for Samsung incompetence

  • Is it just me or do others have an issue with Samsung trade up app? (Not able to select my address from the drop down menu), nothing happens when I click on it.
Tried force closing the app and clearing cache, no change.

    • +3

Had the same issue, found a comment from Samsung Community Manager to fix which worked for me:

      1. Open setting and search for “Reset”
      2. Choose “Reset Accessibility setting”
      3. Reset the Accessibility setting.

re-open the trade up app and try again.

      • Thanks that worked

    • Apparently a common issue looking at the reviews on the play store, tried it myself and had the same issues and gave up

      • +1

If you're still keen on buying try the above fix i posted.

  • I’m waiting for the Pixel fold personally.

    • Competition will be good, but i'm not expecting the first generation to be a Z fold 5 killer.

  • Does anyone know how to correct for this error on the trade up app
"samsung trade up app sorry we are having a problem executing your request please try again"

    • Have the same issue. Has yours been resolved yet?

  • Just pulled the pin for the 512GB for $1118 - managed to get the $100 loyalty via chat and $50 via newsletter. Then traded in galaxy buds for $1.
    excellent deal.

    • +1

my newsletter coupon didn't stack, kept saying it's not eligible.

      • Mine wouldn't stack either. I ended up changing the order of the code when inputting. Worked eventually

  • My galaxy note 10+ was only valued at $90 on Samsung trade up, I then indicated it has damage to make it worth $1 as I figured I won't be returning the phone and don't want to pay an extra $90 for not returning it.
    Hopefully I did that right.

$1118 for the 512GB - nice savings, thanks all.

    • Hmm interesting, will they charge the 60$ fee though? Let me know as I'm not keen to return mine.

      • I'm pretty sure I read it's the value of the trade in and non-return fee of $30, but it could be $60.
Someone else might be able to confirm.

        • 60 for me for a $55 trade LOL. Samsung Are NASTY

          • +2

@fadzsolz: I think it's a $60 non return fee for any trade value over $1, that's why mine was $30.

    • Did you get the screen care?!

  • -5
