Maybe if you priced your base CISS configs at half the original RRP of each printer, you'd get more sales.. just saying, the Beats by Dre logic doesn't work "If I spend $300 on an iPod, it doesn't make sense not to spend $300 on the headphones, so lets get Beats".
All your CISS are more expensive than the printer themselves.
I printed out 450 double-sided pages with 3 ebay ink cartridges, on a cheapo $89 printer (From DSE, not the cheapest available but it was an alright price), together that cost me $7.50 delivered for cartridges.
    900 pages/7.50 = 120 pages per $1 for ink.
A4 paper itself is around 1c per page (if you buy 5 reams).

No doubt your ink will be of higher quality compared to the ebay ink, and obviously this "bargain" is more suited to high-volume photo-printing (with the artisans), I'm just suggesting you should consider lowering your other CISS systems drastically if the printer it is made for, is not known for high-quality photo-prints (I print out lecture slides)

    • Cwongtech,

You can buy CISS with discount code: 070512 (10% off) for all printer's CISS

Still doesn't cut it. The price is still 125% of a new printer (at least for the NX430), even after 10% off.
You need to consider the initial cost involved, there are kits on ebay that can serve the same purpose. Although probably not as advanced or has a UV protection cover (couple rolls of black tape can solve that).. the kits on ebay are under $30 delivered, without ink.
Say, even with your ink prices, that would come to $36 more, that's $67 for some other random name brand CISS, with your MOORIM CHEMTECH ink. If you say that your ink only works with your CISS products… then somethings wrong with your ink. If you say that a random CISS may damage the printhead, well, in goes the original cartridges that the printer came with, and off it goes to warranty.

        http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Empty-CISS-wit-ARCs-kit-Epson-Sty…

I just compared an aldi apple to your apple. It will taste the same (same ink), since the only difference in this aldi apple is the storage container as compared to yours.
Paying $50 more for a premium piece of plastic is a bit too much, and clearly OzBargain (not speaking on behalf, just commenting) does not view your "deal" as a very attractive or competitive one.
This is purchasing over the internet, not visiting a physical store, so the sources do not really matter, if you want to be competitive, you need to be able to claim that you are the cheapest in Australia, no matter where someone tries to source a substitute, it's simple economics.

The shipping is free for the alternative ciss, the ink comes from your store. $45 shipped for 4 x 100mls. Dont try to inflate the price of what Im comparing by $25.

In conclusion, We show everything in our website. You know where the ink is coming from, We are not selling USA or UK or German ink formola but ink comes FROM china, We are not sell ink which will block your printer's head after 1 month.
          again it's your determination.

        • -2

          Empty tank $30.99 + $25 shipping from Hong Kong + ink $9x4=$36.00 + $4.00 Battery : Total = $96.99
(where the ink come from??) & NO warranty on chipset , NO colour profile , …..
totally different tank quality (Tanks can be separated (unique design) )

Regardless of the tank being separated or not, the inks in the tanks will be separated regardless, no one is stupid enough to mix their black, cyan, magenta and yellow inks all in one.

Let me break it down for you, let's have a little transparency, the only difference in the option that I am showing you is the ink storage device, the pipeline to the fake-cartridges from the tank to the printhead will be identical no doubt, but that piece of plastic you store the ink in is the only difference in this configuration
Empty tank is $30.99 USD, which converts to under $30 AUD
$25 shipping? If you read the listing, it is free shipping.

We are not sell ink which will block your printer's head after 1 month.

Something called warranty on the printer, been using my cheapo $2.50 cartridges for a few months now, printed out a 800 page textbook, it working fine :)
And I know that, your ink would be of higher quality that's why.. see below :)

          ink $9x4=$36.00
          (where the ink come from??)

Plus $9 delivery. The ink comes from MIR-AUS website, which is your Moorim Chemtech ink, personally I'd trust Japanese or German ink but I'm just using yours for compari
So $30AUD for the CISS Shipped from China/HK in addition to $36AUD for 4x100ml bottles of ink from MIR-AUS website plus MIR-AUS postage cost of $9 = $75
No doubt if one doesn't use your korean MOORIM CHEMTECH ink supplied via you, it will be even cheaper.
But at this price, $104-$75 = $29 on top of what a theoretically working CISS substitute to obtain your product, is a bit too much.

Alternative ink here, $19.50AUD delivered (converted from GBP)
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4-x-100ml-INK-HP-EPSON-BROTHER-CA…
See, even if the CISS doesn't work, the maximum loss is $50.

I have no clue where you are getting your numbers from.

          cwongtech,

I told you, the best option for you is buying from EBay.
I am not telling anyone buy CISS and ink from different suppliers.
When I see your old feedbacks in other items I know now why you spend more than 10 hours just for $7.00 differences.:)

If anyone buy CISS + ink from us, Difference is $7.00 ( just Price) you can not compear our service and quality with chines ink!

I don't think so any one buy Empty CISS and pay shipping from other supplier and buy ink + shipping from other supplier again :)), You are fighting about $7.00, then buy all of them from one supplier and save on shipping …

          again it's your determination.

You said that: "Regardless of the tank being separated or not, the inks in the tanks will be separated regardless, no one is stupid enough to mix their black, cyan, magenta and yellow inks all in one."

You need to know more about our CISS:

If you buy CISS which use one plastic mould for all colours, you can not extend your tanks if you change your printer in further .. If something happend for your tank you can not replace it , BUT with our tanks you can., more more advantage ,,,,

I told you, there is no shipping cost for that substitute CISS, stop adding an additional $25 ontop.
          Stop bloating the figures!
Also, sourcing from the cheapest doesn't mean all from one supplier, "Economies of scale", read up on that, Mr I-don't-know-basic-economics

So you're saying… they're a possibility that your might CISS tanks, you need to replace?
It sounds like your expensive products aren't very Robust

        • -1

I said: If you have 4 colours printer and after that you buy 6 colours printer for any reason, our CISS is extendable.

    • I think you need to have a look around. It's not CISS distorting things. Printers, Gaming Consoles, Nespresso, Shaver Cleansing Systems… and handfuls of others schemes (scams, some would say) get you in the door at red hot prices, only to bleed you for the life of the unit.

So people have lost touch with the true cost of items the days. Most refuse to get pay what things are worth, since they're unwilling to compare the total cost.

The cost for this quality over such a volume cannot be compared… it kills all else. Like commercial systems, but scaled for home/Soho.

Whoops, gave you a +1 vote by accident. None of the CISS brands use genuine ink, your marketing speak means nothing to me. My printer head works well and the ink he supplies give good prints, first hand knowledge from a real user. They are also 80% cheaper for refill if you use 100ml refill prices as your guide.

I get 5 colors with 100ml each for ~$9 something dollars

    • +1

You're getting 500ml extra of each colour with this deal. From that same seller, the set of colours costs 27 for 100ml bottles before shipping. For the same amount of ink and his ciss its going to set you back $190 before shipping.

This is a pretty decent deal for a better quality sounding CISS + a heap of ink. Can't comment on the quality of it as we only really have to word of mir-aus - there isn't any information on these models apart from their own site.

      • +1

For the same amount of ink (500ml each), it'll cost me about $50 dollars for ink which works and gives good quality prints. I'll stand by the system I brought instead of believing the guy who is trying to sell that product!

        • +1

          wait what.

          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CISS-REFILL-KIT-INK-EPSON-82N-CAR…

$27 before postage for 100ml inks of each colour. 5x of this pack = $135 for an equivalent amount. So wheres that 100ml pack for $9?

What mir-aus is offering is 500ml extra ink of each colour.

        • +1

I referred to the ink I buy. I have stated I have a Cannon printer. Even if you use those prices without considering that he gives bulk discounts. Its still $55+$135 ($190) pickup or plus shipping which was under $20 for me with my extra ink.

My experience with CISS is ok. There is a lot of messing around with bubble in the supplied tubing especially when you are relocating the printer to another area. It is a pain to get ride of the bubble in the tubes.

    • donkeykong,
if you close travel plugs before relocating , You never see any air in tubes.

    • I agree with DK. The air bubbles inside the supplied tubing can be annoying. To get rid of them, I generally had to use head clean function multiple times (but that means a lot of waste ink). After a while, I had to re-direct the waste ink tube inside the printer to an outside container (coz. the waste ink pad got filled).

You can do a lot of resets with Epson printers. However, the main usage for ink jet printer with CISS are DVD printing and occasional photo printing. CISS ink colours are nowhere near as good as the original when printing photos. Generally okay for DVD/CD/BD-R printing.

With colour laser printers being so cheap nowadays… ink jet printers are having a tough time I reckon. If you print a lot of DVDs and CDs, then you can consider CISS.

    • -1

That's why I stick to $2.50 ebay cartridges, sure it might be a bit more expensive (20%, but you don't have a fat initial setup cost) in the long run, but hey, I'm not running a printing press, I'm just printing out notes.
I would consider it like this: ebay ink = 20% or so more expensive (THAN CISS, it's 9x cheaper than genuine ink), probably not ink you want to use to print photos you want to keep for a very long time (I'd use those 50 free prints at domayne when they come around for those :D)
CISS ink = cheaper in the long run, but you have to slap on a FAT initial cost which is like buying the same printer for the second time, due to your own choice of ink, you can use one that is high-quality enough to print out photos to keep for a long time.

With colour laser printers being so cheap nowadays… ink jet printers are having a tough time I reckon. If you print a lot of DVDs and CDs, then you can consider CISS.

I still stick with inkjet for now, as explained above, it cost me $7.50 to print 900 pages.
$16.70 for 2000 single-sided pages, which is about the same as a laser 2000 page toner drum.

What about for $9 DELL/Lexmark owners? eg V525w AIO

  • How have you solved the auto rest problems for many of the printers that use the 82N cartridges that have the issue of the cartridges not being recognised even before the printer days its out of ink.

You say its an auto rest chip, do you mean that its one of the ones with a button on the top to rest them? Is there any user interaction required to rest them? Or will they just keep printing without interruption?

I have tried many printers that use the 82N cartridges (artisan 720, 725, 730, 1410 and 1430). They all have issues with cartridges not being recognised. Rihac has a solution but it's not auto reset so more information would be welcome.

    • fraqtl ,

      Reset cartridges:
There are chips on the end of each cartridge which have a 'memory' of how much ink you have used. Printers also have a 'memory' of your usage. These memory systems assume you've run out of ink when you have consumed a certain amount. They don't realise that you have a large external tank feeding your cartridges. So after some time you'll get a message on your PC screen telling you to replace your cartridges. Check your ink level in the external tanks. Most likely there will still be a ink in these tanks. If this is the case, you'll need to reset the chips using the little white reset button on
      the cartridge.

Press the red flashing button on the printer to get the print head to the “replace cartridge” position. Simply press and hold the white reset button on the cartridge for 3-4 seconds

It is important to note – the cartridges cannot be reset at just any point – the Epson ink monitor must report out of ink (for any cartridge), and then a reset of all cartridges can be done. Once reset, all chips report full cartridges.

I think he knows that there are chips you can press a button to reset the ink level for the fake-cartridge chip, he's asking if there are any auto-reset ones, i.e. ones that just "always read full" without needing to press a button.

Press the red flashing button on the printer to get the print head to the “replace cartridge” position. Simply press and hold the white reset button on the cartridge for 3-4 seconds

        That means it's not auto-reset

ARC : Auto rest chipset. chipset rest it automatically, Just because of printer procedure cartridges need to remove and put it back again, That button on top of the cartridges just help you to disconnect the connection for 3 seconds, Old chipset dosen't have that button and customer need to remove the cartridges and re-install it again.

An auto reset chip requires absolutely no user intervention.

If I need to remove the cartridges to reset them, or press a button to reset them, they are no auto reset chips and should not be advertised as such.

        Auto=automatic

Automatic, as defined in the dictionary "able to activate, move, or regulate itself"

Your chips are not, amend your ad and call them what they are.

The manufacturer call them ARC, You can call them ressetable chip.

Because to reset the original chip you need resseter gadget, But to reset the ARC chips you need to press the reset switch.(Just disconnect the connection of chip and printer for 3 seconds)

by the way every one in this business use ARC for CISS chip-set.
