    These tablets suck

    • +1

They don't suck in my opinion, but at this price point I don't consider it a bargain

      • They do suck. You obviously don't have one.

I have this tablet and the screen is absolutely terrible. Takes forever to turn on too and lots of other annoying things about it.
Only good thing is long battery life but that doesn't make up for the worst screen ever made.

I actually do have one. The screen isn't of OLED quality sure, but it's done a great job watching movies and light gaming. I did pay about $150 which I felt was a fair price.

Watching movies was fine, colours were acceptable and bright, if on the right angle. Overall the screen is meh and the viewing angles are awful but it did the job

    • Agreed, I eventually broke mine in half, very frustrating experience; often have to unlock, lock, unlock because it gets stuck.

      • I stuck mine on the wall and use it for a sonos music hub but dang, very frustrating tablet.

    • What to buy?

Got it for $95 last year :P

If you aren't going to be installing many apps (and consequently using up the entirety of the 100GB internal storage) you should probably go for the 64GB model for $277.99. The processor is the same and you also get 4GB of RAM.

SD card is supported but apps cannot be installed to it, so buy the lower capacity version of the tablet if all you're doing is using it for watching movies and web surfing.

I believe the tab has 4 years of security updates in total and up to 2 OneUI updates. It's currently on Android 13.

  • Alldocube iPlay 50 works better than this.

    • Only issue I have with it is the inability to play HD Netflix and Prime videos. This is apparently due to its Widevine L3 certification

      • +1

Yeah. I don't find it too bad watching Netflix on SD but I don't do it often if at all. I can use my Lenovo M10 for that if I have to.

The alldocube is great to play games on and just about everything except Netflix on HD. The A8 is kind of lacking in ram and CPU speed, so you could say Netflix hd is the only advantage..

        But for $350? Hellll naaaah

        • The a8 screen is shit house anyway so watching Netflix is not the best experience.

  • Definitely vouch for the alldocube as ive had an iplay 20pro and now an iplay 40pro. I also have an a8 tablet that is probably half the speed of the iplay 40pro and was retailed at twice the price. Alldocube all the way baby!

      • The iplay 50 is great, I have it.

If you get one, also recommend getting one of those magnetic charging cable/adapter's as I have heard some things about wear and tear on the ports.

Apparently neither have wildvine support so they won't do Netflix hd, but I have watched some shows on Netflix on mine and I find it acceptable.

Compared to the A8 it's a no brainer. Same CPU, more ram. I play games like league wild rift and pubg on it, and it's fine. I've heard the A8 can be a bit slow

  • Isn't this RRP?

  • $100 more and buy mi pad 5 from AliExpress
