$25 shipping kinda kills the deal.

I use these for hamburgers. Cooks them fast, but you get a lot of smoke so better to do it outside.

    • +2

      That isn't smoke. It's steam.

I do the same, chop tomato, onion as well then set this grill up on the chep pallet stacks out back and have a nice fry up.

Good to know the offer will still be available in 10 years!

I've got this model. Fantastic in every way except one: it's too hot. Heats up far too quickly, far too hot. Toasties will end up approaching burnt on the outside before the cheese inside has even melted.

We have resorted to plugging the press out before the bread outside is done and letting the residual heat cook it the rest of the way for long enough that the inside cheese is able to reach a melting temperature.

Fantastic in every way, except being able to do the one job it has?

      • +1

I prefer my toasties to have the cheese melted and not burnt on the outside but I'm sure someone out there has the job description of "please burn the outside but don't even THINK about heating up the inside!"

Have I been using my press wrong my whole life?
Is it meant to be vertical like in the image?

    • This one can fold up and be stored vertically, so that it doesn't take as much bench space when not in use

Whilst balancing on the handle apparently

        • lmao yeah the site may have got creative with that image rotation

    • Been using the kmart one for 5+ years and it still works like new. It is one of those product categories where the more expensive brands really add no additional functionality or reliability.

    • I got mine from Target 15 years ago. It looks exactly the same as the Russell Hobbs one but is branded Modern Living. It's still going strong, but doesn't look so great on the outside anymore.

I'll get the Kmart one when it's time. It just annoys me that the photos on their website show two different products.

this one you adjust height so doesn’t flatten soft things like hunter buns or brioche.

$25 shipping absolutely kills it and should be in title
