Okay, I know they're Crocs and the colour isn't for everyone, but these are not regular Crocs, but legit clogs for kitchen and healthcare workers. I haven't worked in a kitchen for over 20 years (besides a 3 year stint at Meals on Wheels as supervisor, but rage quit because the branch president was an insufferable, entiltled b*tch) and I'm thinking about finding a part time job for funsies because I miss the rush, camaraderie and the extracurricular activities.

These are $80 RRP here, and I've only seen them drop to $60 on sale locally.

Seems like a good deal on work crocs/clogs. Sent it over to the missus, she'll love em.

Bonus: Get to watch people lose their minds over a rainbow lol.

    FYI
    - You can remove the colour with acetone
    - You can shrink Crocs with boiling water

    • +7
      • You can destroy the crocs with fire
      • You can eat the crocs with soy sauce
    • -1

It would be acceptable then but the color is ugly

    • You can shrink Crocs with boiling water

Or you can leave them out in the sun on a hot day. My crocs shrank so much that I had to throw them out.

Wow, the ultimate in prophylactic. Do your part for overpopulation, wear these.

    • No point, most of the people here buy condoms when there’s a deal and never even finish the pack.

  • -5

negged because there are plenty of other cheaper ones that look just the same.

Clearly not the 'bargain' that OP is making out.

Great deal, these also double as a form of birth control. Good luck trying to find a sexual partner while wearing these!!

    • +2

Ha! the totally original, not beat to death variation of the, "what's the best form of contraceptive?" joke. Nice one, mate! No one has heard that before

This is so funny. I'm so glad you posted this joke as your 5th or yearly comment. My life has forever been changed by this completely hilarious and original joke.

I just wonder how small someone’s mind has to be to care about rainbow crocs? How much of a strait jacket do men want to put themselves in they get that upset about what other men wear?

There are so many problems in the world, often caused by the violence of a few men, so why isn’t there more male energy put in trying to address that? Apparently some of you guys would prefer to have the shit kicked out of you than wear rainbow crocs. Seems just bizarre to me.

    • +3

I think most guys irl don't care but this is the internet, and because of the anonymity, the bigoted views of the minority are amplified. Add in the low-effort comments to get upvotes, and here we are. I made an edit to address this (still visible in the revisions) that was deleted by the mods, which is fair, I did go a bt too far, but the mods have made zero effort to clean up the shitshow in this post. I swear and go off at the idiots; we can't have that! Delete immediately! Idiots invade this post with anti-lgbt bs; that's fine, no problem, please continue.

I bet some of the stupid comments are from gamergate-adjacent gamers with $10k rigs with RBG everything. I wonder how they reconcile that with their rainbow = gay mentality.

The kicker is that the shoes are tie-dye which has been around for decades in fashion, and aren't even associated with the LGBTQ rainbow flag which triggers these snowflakes.

Anyway, thanks for being a voice of reason in the comments, it was fun while it lasted.

      • +3

Absolutely, I just can’t get my head around it. Do these guys think the rainbow colours are going to “trigger” their latent homosexuality. I haven’t worn a skirt, in years, and prefer comfortable shoes but it doesn’t trigger me to think “dear God I might be gay”. It means they are the clothes I prefer to wear.

I’m 60 years old and find it sad we still keeping getting the same irrational crap. We are moving forward, at least being gay isn’t illegal anymore, but we seem to be taking two steps forward and one back. The younger intelligent generation is beginning to buy a clue and experiment with their look and who they are. Then you get the pig ignorant who want to go back into the straight jackets.

I went to Midsumma because it was a hoot. It was colour, movement and music. We’ve talked to a few people who were serving that day and there was almost no trouble. No falling down aggressive drunks, no one spoiling for a fight just a wave of love and acceptance. The vibe from the crowd was incredible.

I find it extraordinary that some people are complaining about drag artists playing dress ups and reading to children, where the costumes and actions would be age appropriate, when the “Christian” religious organisations routinely expose children to images of a man being tortured to death. Then they tell these children they are the reason this man was tortured to death. This is accompanied by a bunch of rules designed to limit their behaviour to conform to rules set up by some other men several millennia ago. I have no issue with faith but, surely, an omnipresent being doesn’t need a bunch of middle men. Particularly when the organisations involved have not only included paedophiles but management were covering up for them. My suggestion is people ditch religion and talk directly to their Gods. However, we should keep the architecture and art work.

        • +2

I don't know what Midsumma is but WOMAD here in Adelaide was love-fest with people openly smoking weed. Well at least it was when I went ~10 years ago just to see DJ Krush. Not sure if it has been overtaken by the doof doof festival crowd since then.

Yeah, I have a lot to say about all that drag-reading-books bs and the catholic church and other religious institutions but that would be an entire novel.

Just let people be. Be kind and accepting. Don't be a dick. It's not f-ing hard.

          • +2

@rosebank: I think The Shovel has this pretty well “nailed”.

            https://theshovel.com.au/2023/04/17/calls-to-ban-drag-shows-…

In all honesty I don’t have a problem with Christians the problem is too many of them are “ians”. As far as I can tell Christ was about love and acceptance. They seem to have erased the message from the narrative. They cherry pick what aligns with their prejudices. Funny how so many Televangelists in America are rolling in money. I seem to remember something about camels passing through the eyes of needles more likely than rich people getting into heaven. Bet that one isn’t trotted out very often.

There are some religious people I have a lot of time for. They work for the good of the poor and vulnerable. Funny how often these people seem to clash with the established church hierarchy. I have no people getting comfort from their beliefs, I do have a problem when they turn them into a cudgel.
