not sure if the $38 difference would worth the 6 years replacement warranty from bunnings

    • Exactly… I had an impact driver die after just over 3 years, and despite me NOT registering online for the extended warranty, they replaced it with a brand new HP version.

If you're near a Bunnings with stock left the compact hammer drill kit with 4.0ah battery is a much better option at $135

They are different. 50NM vs 85NM

    • Bunnings cant transfer stock if i ask my local bunnings?

    • Is there anyway to buy these online?

I have bought Ryobi through Amazon and added it to my Ryobi Toolbox to get 6 years warranty using the Amazon receipt.

    • Ryobi don't look at what you upload. You could upload a picture of a cat for all they care, until you need to make a claim. Amazon AU aren't an authorised seller in AU so Ryobi AU won't have anything to do with the warranty. Amazon AU will gladly refund you, at least for the first 12 months but 6 years from purchase? Could be a tough one, especially when Ryobi in the US (who is the seller in this case) only gives 3 year warranty on the One+ range. Not worth the small saving IMO.

Well, if required, I will be appealing to the Fair Trading as they have not made this clear at all (nor even alluded it) and that they accepted my Amazon.au receipt and issued notification of a 6 year warranty is sufficient for any reasonable person to rely on … the onus is on Ryobi Australia to exclude grey imports at the time of registration. This is the pitfall of requiring registration in order to gain the extended warranty, it would be different if I was to make a claim without their prior knowledge of where I purchased it. Their failure to advise me that this product does not qualify is on them, not me.

        • It's all in the T&C. It even says when registering in the section where you need to attach the receipt "Ensure you attach the correct Bunnings receipt for this tool as this may impact any future warranty claims".
