Up to 50% off Big Brother 2012 Live Shows!

DW_Passholder

"Enter DW_Passholder as the coupon code to redeem your 50% discount and exclusive pre-sale access to Big Brother Live Show tickets."

Whilst technically this discount is only for Dreamworld Passholders they do not check if you have a pass, also passholders are able to purchase 4 tickets under the one pass.

I went to the Lauch show last night and can confirm they do not check passes (although I am a passholder).

  • It's possible they'll eventually start checking to see if you have a pass, so just be aware of that.

    • +2

It is possible but unlikely… but then how will they police those who have had a passholder purchase a ticket for them? You can just claim your friend who is a passholder gave you the ticket.

I don't get Big Brother.. all I see is people stuck in a house full of cameras, walking around. Just like sticking mice in a box, and watching them, can anyone care to explain what the joys of Big Brother are?

    • +24

I guess bogans enjoy watching other bogans?

      • +8

Doing Lara Bingle, The Shire and now Big Brother. We're getting spoilt for choice!

Can't wait for the Real Housewives of Penrith County :D

        • +2

The Shire ? hah! that's for kids, try The Fields (Macquarie) :)

    • When it aired back in South Africa the only reason to watch was 'Shower Hour' and even that wasn't enough to save the other 23 hours of mind-numbing rubbish…

From the psychology aspect, people want to know that they are normal - so they watch this show to see what other people do. Of course the chance that the people selected for this show are average people seems somewhat low. If they were average people, the show would be much more boring, and would get even lower ratings.

From the profit aspect, the show is a success for the TV network. A show that costs almost nothing to run, and also qualifies for "Australian content", so they have to buy less of the more expensive "Australian content" shows.

It also shows that if you push enough advertising down the public's throat, you'll get enough people to watch anything and make it profitable.

      • A show that costs almost nothing to run

Not sure if i agree with you there. They need to house/board at least 10 people. Then they need cameramen working in shifts 24/7. Plus the camera systems to save all the HD footage, with redundancy, and enough bandwidth to save and access the footage at once, all with 100% uptime.

        • +3

compared to creating an actual tv show (comedy/drama etc), reality tv shows such as this cost a fraction of the price..

        • +2

Agree with SBOB. No make-up, no wardrobe, no boom operators/camera dolly/microphone people, "actors" probably aren't paid (and if they are, certainly not as much as someone who can actually act). The cameraman probably isn't even on-site, they could be sitting at home with a computer and a joystick, and an IP video stream. Even worse, they could be crowd-sourcing the cameraman job to the ten greatest fans of the show, and not pay anything.

hmmm looks like you're right. Apparently it cost $10 million in 2002 to produce BB. An average tv show apparently costs between 1.5 - 5 million to produce (each episode)

        • "No make-up, no wardrobe,…."

Actually, I imagine that there is a small army to get Sonia ready. :-)

  • +3

How long do you think it will take before they push this rubbish onto GO for it to die?

    • If everything goes absolutely perfect for their first night… expect it to move to GO sometime tomorrow.

  • +40

people PAY to attend the shows ????????????!!!!!

    • +8

You couldn't pay me enough to watch this in the comfort of my own home

  • +4

No thank you… those ads ruined my Olympics experience…

    • But everybodys shuffling!

      • +1

        Shuffling? *facepalm *

What they're doing is a disgrace to the Melbourne Shuffle. It's like a cross between the chicken dance and the running man. It must be a sign of things to come.

        • It's called the Chicken Run then x)
          Or the Chicken Shuffle

    • +2

Channel 9's coverage of the Olympics ruined my Olympics experience.

      • Yeah they mainly broadcasted the ones while the Australian teams were still in the game, as soon as they got knocked out, they made it a backdrop where they'd switch to it for 1 minute every 30 mins.

  • +18

I guess, if you were planning to buy these tickets anyway, then 50% off is a good deal.

Personally, I'd rather sit at home and drip bleach into my eyes

    • +6

Record it, I'd rather pay to watch that that this drivel any day.

  • +4

Props to the original poster for posting a genuine bargain, but its very reassuring that I'm not the only one that greatly dislikes BB!

    • +2

I knew the comments this bargain would get :P, but yeah people pay… the Launch Show actually sold out with tickets ranging from $50-$15 (full cost).

  • I don't mind Big Brother as a TV program, but anyone who actually pays real money to see a live show needs their head read. I mean, it's a bunch of randoms carrying on like idiots, you can see that for free pretty much anywhere.

  • I too am amazed they charge to be in the BB audience. Or is this a clever way to visit Dreamworld on a cheap ticket? Do you have access to the rest of Dreamworld or just the BB section?

  • +3

you have to PAY to go to this ? are you kidding me ?

    • Thats what i thought - Why would you pay for this. Who would pay for this. Bargain none the less.

  • +1

can i neg for a horrible show? lol

  • +3

removing Ch9 from my program list after Olympics

    • +2

If they didn't have the cricket, they'd be irrelevant

  • +2

the only thing worse than being bored at home, is watching other people be bored at home.

  • Ch9 are in like $1.5bill of debt they are also now going to lose the NRL rights to 10 (cos they cant afford to match their price).

That's what you get for treating your audience with contempt I guess…

    • sauce?

  • who would pay for this crap?

  • I think its gonna be so limited and scripted this year beyond believe, especially if they include kids under 18 :////// in the house. Not to mention how it all will be affected by the scandal before, doubt they will even get alcohol, as long as i understood its gonna be only 1 hour a day on channel 9 ://// point is? we all gotta go online and buy memberships??? where the hell are sponsors and whats the Chanel 9 then for?

  • this would only fall into the bargain category when they pay me to watch it and even then I wouldn't bite

  • I would say its just a dreamworld pass as surely they wouldnt charge to see BB lol

Im gonna watch the show as it might be different lol or crap!!

    • +1

Same crap in a different sewer.

  • +1

Would be good if they had a iPad app to watch the live stream. Something similar to what Foxtel did for the Olympics.

  • +1

Can WIN do a bad job for coverage as they did for the Olympics?

  • +4

I've got a stick, today only I will poke you in the eye with it for half price.

  • +1

People pay to be in the audience ?????

  • +2

Ha. At first I thought the title said Big Brothel 2012 Live Show.. Then again, isn't that pretty much what this show is anyway?

    • +1

No, this show won't have a happy ending…

  • +1

With the amount of negative sentiment everywhere about this piece of **** show, I am baffled as to why it keeps coming back. Someone must be watching it but I haven't met them yet.

    • I can only thin out the gene pool so fast…..

      dexter morgan ….

  • When I saw this deal's title, I was hoping that there had been a decision to halve the length of the show.
