Square Reader and Dock $39.99 Delivered @ Costco Online (Membership Required)

100

If you require both the reader and the dock, this bundle works out a little bit cheaper than this deal here. I don't know if this is available (and cheaper) in store.

  • Would i be able to setup recurring payments using this?

  • Officeworks price, $48, is the same as the price directly from Square. But Officeworks charges for delivery.

So Costco's price is a deal, it saves you $8.01, but is not as great a deal as they portray it as being. And you've got to be a Costco member to get it, and have paid for that.

  • -1

1.9% for every tap and pay. Nahhhh…

    • Comparable alternatives?

  • NAB Easy Tap is 1.40% per tap and it doesn't require a separate reader:

    • Gotta have an Android phone though.

CommBank are 1.1% however with a $29.50 per month POS device rental fee.

That's cheaper if you are processing more than $10K per month.

Though I agree NAB's option is cheaper than Square's, it is not really a fair comparison.

Square has its own POS system that is available to use at no additional cost letting you set up Item inventory as well as a customer Database and also allows you to raise/send invoices. Square can be integrated into business websites, too for taking online payments. I don't see any of these features with NAB Tap&Pay. Additionally, NAB Easy Pay accepts Visa, Mastercard, and EFTPOS only whereas Square accepts AMEX & Diners too.

        • Thanks for sharing. Seems to be offering many more features than NAB's product. It says you need to have a business transaction account with them though. Not sure what that would mean in terms of additional costs. And again, no mention of AMEX and Diners payment acceptance.

  • Square has their own tap app now, so I would of thought these would be a lot cheaper.

    • Yeah, but 2.6% + 10 cents per tap, and not sure if it's available in AU.

  • Can i setup min tip to 50%?

  • does this allow magnetic swipe credit cards?

    • Nope, but you can apparently type numbers in.

Accept EMV chip cards, contactless NFC cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay from anywhere. You can also send invoices and key in credit card numbers by hand.
