    I'm so torn, my og Xiaomi robot battery has packed it in and turns off all the time and is now useless and I would love an S8 but not sure I can hold out much longer

      My battery starting to show its age. Have you looked into new battery. Seems about 70 bucks most olaces. My only worry is tue quality of the battery

        Ours would take two visits back to the charging station and I recently replaced it from Amazon for $70 and it's been great.

        At the same time I replaced the filter and two brushes and gave it a good clean.

        We bought our Xiaomi in September 2017, so it has a great run.

  Thinking of getting back into the robo vac game.
  Originally had a Neato XV-21 which was pretty good, mapping seemed okay.
  Reckon I got that for about $400 back in the day.

  Would I expect triple the performance on a vac like this considering it's triple the price??
  Or is this the equivalent of that back then and prices have tripled in that time?

  Bought one for an office space that has dark carpet everywhere except for the kitchenette area that has beige tiles. The transition has a ~13mm ledge from carpet up to the tiles.

  S7 easily makes the ledge but 90% of the time it ends up marooned on the tiles as the transition back to the dark carpet triggers the fall sensor. Haven't had this issue when I tested the same area with my ecovacs 950. Support was super unhelpful with a mere "this is normal behaviour" and no suggestions for solutions.

  Only thing I'm considering is putting in a transition strip to see if that'll solve it.

    Sometimes a bit of tape over the sensors can stop it from triggering the fall.

    We used to have this issue on an old model (not our current s7, but diff situation ) and that worked a treat
