Yes, it does use SmartSlide™ so that it can pair with devices that have the dock in a variety of places.
Thanks - I was just thinking how this would work with all the different Android phones cause unlike an iphone dock, you would be using different types of phones with this one.

Reviews don't seem very good… Previous Phillips android dock deal was a better one imo.
Ok you could buy a cheap dock for your phone on ebay and use the phone's built in Alarm clock. Or for a better look, buy DoubleTwist Alarm clock app and leave phone on clock screen while docked, saving you about $70 while having the same functions…
