The capsules are $6.48 through Amazon with a subscribe and save discount. 8 boxes would be $51.84. The machine is $69. So…the savings compared to a quick search on Amazon would be $20.84.

However, I regularly get 10% off Amazon gift cards…but I also get 5% off Woolworths gift cards reducing the savings to $13.76 if I wanted to use gift cards.

      10% Amazon how?

      • I assume those cashrewards / shopback bonus cashback events

Great calculations but, maybe, you have too much time on your hands :-)

Being a Woolworths insurance, mobile or everyday extras customer also gives you a stackable 10% off on top of Wish 5% off gift card discounts

  • Is this every Woolworths? I can't see anything online via their website or news about this promotion

    • It is in their Victoria catalogue, so check the catalogue for your state to see if it's in there

      • Thanks heaps for that

      • Yes, it's also in the NSW catalogue (for p/c 2500) on page 20

    • It says on the banner "in store only" so maybe that's why.

    • Its in the Woolworths catalogue

  • Can anyone comment on their experience using these capsules?

50% more coffee than Nespresso (7.5g vs 5g) and I prefer the taste. Nespresso doesn't really have enough coffee grounds for a decent coffee IMO. As long as you're happy sticking to a single brand, I think it's the best choice for pod coffee, maybe tied with Illy's proprietary pods. I think the pods are compostable as well.

      • Agree with 600dollar man. More coffee per a capsule makes it closer to a Barista made coffee. I find other capsule machines also don't cut through the milk as effectively if you drink milk based coffee.

Have had a similar Lavazza machine for about 5 years. Still going strong. Much better taste than Nespresso, and you can always find deals on pods.

On sale @Coles regularly for around $8. Amazon SS often cheaper.
Most are 16 pods per box.

      Unlike Nespresso…
Lavazza machines only take Lavazza A Modo Mio Coffee pods! So there are no clones to substitute & keep costs down.

One of my favourite Lavazza pods are no longer imported (from Italy).
The 12 pack of ORO pods disappeared from stores last year. Ordered from Amazon @$10 until they ran out.

When JB introduced the $10 Perks vouchers, found they stocked them @$9. Bought up boxes - free. (BBD Sept 23)

Found a JB store with 60 boxes. Unfortunately they were short dated. Negotiated with manager to buy 20 boxes for $22.
Can't tell difference in taste with "fresher" stock. Happily enjoying them after BBD.

Pods BBD is 2 years after production. Check BBD on box - found some stores like HN used to sell very old stock! Major electrical retailers now usually don't stock pods.

Bought Lavazza machines @$25ea profit (after Lavazza cashback) in Deal long ago. Still in use, along with 2 older models.

Redeemed 32 free pods per machine.
Pod distributor failed - Lavazza kept sending out orders.
      Received 480 free pods!

Hi, You can get the Qualita Oro in 16 packs now. They are on special at the moment in Harvey Norman and The Good Guys for $10 a box, ends 14/5

Good to know!!! Was thinking of getting this machine & also try out other brands capsule (nespresso compatible)!

Yes, It's the inkjet printer model for coffee. Locks you into consumables from only 1 brand - Lavazza A Modo Mio!

Difficult if you don't know if you like that brand of coffee, with machines like these that only take 1 manufacturer's pods.

Years ago, used to try these Lavazza pods before buying at Myers. So knew what to expect. Liked it.
Then bought a new machine for $6 (after Lavazza cashback). A low risk choice.

Over the years, some of the best tasting (& dearest - not sold in supermarkets) pods disappeared from the range. Disappointing.

Still use a Lavazza machine a decade later (have 3 models bought cheap or at a profit) as its quick & convenient when making coffee for 1 person, unlike an expensive coffee machine.

Also have stove top Mocka Pot & Plunger for occasional use. But don't drink enough coffee to justify buying (ground) beans.

    • Agree with Seligs. Regular deals on capsules at Coles and Woolworths and other retailers. For those who want to froth milk, there are plenty of inexpensive frothers but worth investing $100 in Lavazza induction frother. In the end you can get a great cup of coffee for less than $0.60 compare that to $6.00 at a cafe. Not talking people out of the social experience of going to their local coffee haunt, just pointing out the economics
