Go to Costco. $7 for chickens that I'm pretty sure are at least 1kg. Costco chickens are juicer too, so no hiccups from a mouthful of breast.
Costco chickens are juicy because they are injected with water.
With saline… so they're being brined.
Yes brined with saline is good but I find injected with saline makes the meat mushy.
@JimB: Better than being too dry. And they are still bigger than Colesworth, there's no way you can just inject a 500g Colesworth chook with 500mL of saline.

One of the local bird circles has mentioned they are now smaller due to complaints about Green Muscle Disease. (basically where parts of the tenderloin are a bright green colour even after it's cooked.) This is more common in larger chickens therefore you shrink the chicken the less chance of it happening.
So less "Ewwww my chicken is rotten. I threw up and got food poisoning and I nearly died now I want $50,000 compensation." posts on social media.
That means they're pumped full of less drugs!
I've noticed at my local KFC that the large boxes of chips are smaller. The top to bottom tappers a lot whereas it used to be rectangular.

Yes I noticed that as well a few weeks ago. The box might be as tall as it previously was but it definitely looks like there’s less volume overall. Shrinkflation.

Where does it state that KFC chickens are injected with "hormones" or "drugs"? Literally the opposite on their site "the chicken you eat at KFC is free of any added hormones, steroids or any other bad stuff"
This is like the "pink sludge" thing people used to pass around online with chicken nuggets from maccas

The greedy producers are probably clearing them out at a smaller/younger age for more profits.
Nothing new here with the others shrinkage culture going on .

I recently got scammed pretty badly with Hungry Jack's Crispy Boneless pieces. The ad and pictures showed something pretty decent and in my mind I expected at least the equivilent of KFC's one.
Nek minute, all I got were 3 dry as chicken nuggets that were slightly bigger than a normal nugget for $8.

had KFC Zinger box last week, the boneless hot n' crispy were the same size as the nuggets with more batter on it. pretty disappointing cos you get more chicken switching to the old 3 wicked wings for no price change.
